Great value for money and nicely designed (with USB lead tucked into underside of unit and the top of the unit having an attractive wavy design on it). I just plugged it in and it worked – in no time at all I was learning to speak Spanish using my old CDs!

The dirve arrived the following day and was exactly as described. It was well packaged. The fact you can use USB or USB-C, the wires are already connected and fold neatly on the base of the drive. It was very easy to start using, literally take out of the plastic film, decide which connection, plug in to your laptop/PC and that is it. All in 2-3 minutes. Great buy.

The product was packaged and shipped efficiently and promptly. The device connects to both my MacBook Air and my Chromebook. It’s going to be perfect for watching my favourite anime dvd collection. Thanks Froibetz!

I was a bit sceptical when I first purchased this as my new laptop had no disk compartment but it was excellent and I was also even able to still burns CDs and DVDs. Very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend! Even worked plugged into the USB of my TV

I bought this to burn cds through windows media player on my laptop and expected it not to work as I had bought and tried many like this previously. But to my suprise, it works perfectly, is extremely quick to burn and very easy to use. I 100% recommend buying this!

After buying a new gaming PC I felt I still needed a CD/DVD drive for installing old stuff I still have hanging around. This worked fine. Annoyed that Amazon’s random price jumps and drops meant I paid I paid 22 for it when only a few weeks later it is now 14.

Nice compact cd dvd drive connecting cable seems a bit short for my use this is probably a design to sit next to laptop and not tower apart from that it performs well for reading and burning.

Item was delivered swiftly by seller- very impressive.
Installation was very easy but the system a little slow which is understandable, given the price..
Generally, as I have only had it for a short period, I am not in a position to provide a comprehensive review at this time, but so far so good, I am happy with the purchase.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersNeeded an inexpensive DVD drive to replace 20+ year-old (and now deceased) unit, so as to have access to archived docs, etc., on occasion.

    The Pros:

    – Low cost. At under 15, not a lot to wring hands over if it goes pfft after 6 months.
    – Does exactly what it says on the box: plug & play (Win 10 + Winn 11), reads / writes DVDs (and CDs).
    – No external power supply, draws directly from USB, so no need to lug additional power cords / transformers around if using it on the go.
    – Perfect for occasional use (who needs to used DVD drives on a daily basis nowadays?).

    The Cons:

    – The build is a little flimsy; had to glue the draw facia on to stop it falling off each time the draw opened.
    – USB cable might be a tad short for some desktop users (use a top USB socket if you have them available).

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI used this to transfer my CD collection to a spare hard drive and also to USB stick to use in the car. Using a laptop with Windows 11 this was plug and play. I used Media player and didn’t have to download any additional software or Apps. The machine is very quiet and write speed is faster than I expected.
I have one CD that I didn’t know what was on it. Turns out it was photos. I was able to transfer these to the hard drive too. I have not tried using a DVD and cannot comment on durability as not had the unit long enough.
The cable was long enough for my set up but may be a little on the short side if connecting to a tower pc.
It was well worth the sale price that I paid for it.
Sits in a plastic tray, inside a fairly sturdy box, so I’m fairly confident that it has some protection when it inevitably ends up in the back of a draw somewhere.
