My husband couldn’t get his head round the price of these lights so took us a while to purchase them. We did buy them on offer but still paid near on 200 for them.
We haven’t regretted that purchase one bit.
The lights sit nicely on the facia and are incredibly easy to put up. We used the sticky pads provided cleaning with alcohol spray as we went and so far they have adhered well and none have fallen down in the strong winds we have had. We have initially bought them as I wanted accent lighting around the house in the evenings and we also needed to replace our Christmas lights that broke last year while putting them up. They light the house beautifully when placed on a accent lighting mode that we made in the app. The Christmas lights this year have been spectacular and we have had lots of neighbours stopping to ask us where we got them etc.
We are known as the rainbow house on the road and catch people stopping to have a look while driving past.
We couldn’t be more pleased with the end results and ease of use etc. They look incredible and the best things is, you never have to take them down. Within 5 seconds you are in Christmas mode and ready for the new holiday season.
The pre-set functions are brilliant and lights can be set on a timer to come on so you dont even need to do that.

I got these specifically for Halloween and Christmas, as we love to decorate our home for these occasions, but these lights are fantastic for everyday use. Though I haven’t installed these on my property yet, I helped install a 15M set of these at a friend’s house (he bought them after seeing mine and testing them out of the box).
Each light has a strong 3M adhesive patch on the back of it, and they stick very well – just be sure to clean the surface you’re sticking them to, to ensure they aren’t dusty or greasy (we were sticking the lights to UPVC cladding and used alcohol wipes to clean them). Cable clips (supplied) can be used to ensure the lights remain in place – we used them on any corners and longer runs.
We mounted the rainproof power supply under the eaves and connected it to a waterproof outdoor socket that my friend placed there for this purpose, and it looks very neat, but you need to plan the placement of your lights and position of your power supply carefully as installation at height is tricky enough and you don’t want to have to reposition the lights once you’ve mounted them.
TIPS: Reading the instructions and laying out the lights before we started helped a LOT, and the position of the outdoor power socket was only finalised at that point – though if you have an existing power point in place, you’d obviously want to work around that if possible. Do also test the lights out of the box before you install them. And ensure the waterproof cap at the end of the run is fitted. When you’re satisfied they all work, download the ‘Govee Home’ app to your phone and connect to the lights using BlueTooth – this will save you a lot of hassle later. Your Wireless router will need to support 2.4GHz. 5GHz only isn’t supported.
For best results, try to mount them a few inches away from the wall if they are to be used as downlighting, as you get a good effect with the light shining on the walls. These can also be used in the garden as uplighters, but you’d need to ensure they were positioned so they weren’t at risk of being stepped on.

Once the lights are in place, it’s simply a case of configuring the light effects you want. I particularly like the fact you can program individual lights – choosing to only light up corners, for example – and use a timer function.

And if the 30M set isn’t long enough, you can join them to a 15M set to give you a 45M (150ft) run, which is the maximum supported.

When I received these, the 30M set was 299.00, which is expensive, despite the quality of the lights. At the time of writing this review, they are on offer at 199.99 (for Prime Members – a 32% reduction, so now is a great time to buy these. If they were still full price, I’d be giving them a 4/5 overall rating, but with the price reduction, these lights are an easy 5/5. I expect these will last several years. I just need my friend to come around and help me fit them – hopefully before Christmas, or he will be getting coal from Santa!
