It’s a good product. Actually heats up the bedroom in no time. The oscillation is super cool and nice. I actually control mine with my phones Google assistant. I love i
This is fabulous. So simple to setup in the app and with Alexa. Great little heater that heats up my home office in no time. Saves in turning in the heating for the whole house as in the office most of the day. Been very reliable so far and simple to voice control with Alexa.
Good little heater, smart features are ok but keeps turning the wifi off which makes it a bit pointless. The cutoff tilt function is great, my dog knocked it over and it safely turned itself off
The heater connected to the wifi and worked remotely for the first 3 months but now it will not connect. I have contacted GoVee and they have asked me to try several conection steps which I have done and sent in umpteen screenshots which was fairly easy to do. They Have sent me a replacement which arrived within 2 days and it is working as it should.
I needed a heater for the cold months, and I found this one to be really easy to set up. The timer function was incredibly handy for pre-heating the room before waking up. Overall, I’m impressed and intend to make another purchase for our study.
Device arrived this morning. It was so easy to download the App and connect to WiFi. Less than 2mins. Once connected, the App is really easy to use and I love that I can work the device from my phone! I chose this model because I wanted to be able to set it come ‘on’ and not just time it to go ‘off’. Not only is this possible, it’s simple to do too. I can set it to come on in the mornings before I need to get up. I have it on my landing upstairs so it’s heating the bedrooms and the bathroom. So far – So Good!
The fan heater really works well.
However, if I’ve understood correctly it seems that each time you disconnect/reconnect the power supply you have to re-able the WIFI? Bluetooth connection to make use of the remote operation. You only need to press two buttons on the heater, but if it’s in the garage or another room, it’s a little irritating. in my case the Garage power supply is on a timer isolating the whole garage when not in use.
This space heater has a Premium build and look to it. It has been a good investment and has kept me warm during colder days instead of switching the central heating. App connectivity is good and user friendly. Only issue is when switching heater off from back of the heater i need to then connect to it from my phone again to use the App. Lighting effects on this are pretty cool as well.
Bought this to replace a cheap ceramic heater, mostly because it looks a lot better.
What I found is that it is much quieter and build quality is way better.
Don’t really use the smart features, but I suppose it could be useful to be able to pre heat a room remotely.
Don’t rely too much on the built in thermostat as it obviously gets heat directly from the heater itself. You probably want to link it to an external Govee sensor if you want accurate heat settings.
Good heater for small spaces and convenient being connected to WiFi for remote control however I’ve found it eats electric like mad so maybe not a good purchase for saving on bills
Love the app and all the features and settings it has It’s great to set it to come on by the timer. I like the rainbow setting for the mood light. This heater however WON’T heat a big room. It doesn’t blast out like a fan heater it has more of a radiator affect and It’s not too noisy. Just know what you are getting. My room isn’t big so it heats up quick but goes cold after 20 mins once off. It doesn’t come with a remote you have to operate it but the unit itself or by the app on your phone to be honest the app on the phone is way easier than a remote anyway.
EDIT: Since writing this review Govee have sent me a refund so I have to say their support is very good.
Using the heater to keep cold and damp out of a spare bedroom roughly 3m x 3m and it does a great job, but as others have mentioned, the app is not intuitive.
Pros.
+ Looks smart
+ Compact size
+ Easy to set up
+ Lots of heat quickly
+ Pretty quiet
+ Ability to set thermostat by degrees (most other heaters just have a dial with icons)
+ All sorts of timers and schedules can be set
+ Operated away from home via the app as well as from buttons on the heater itself
Cons
– Set a target like a thermostat and the heater doesn’t start at target temperature (see photo)
– The app is not intuitive
— You can’t see if it’s Off or On from the Home screen
— Auto (using the thermostat) on a regular basis needs you to set up a schedule. That’s fine but I had to work that out by switching through menus.
I’d advise buying one, but operating it via the app is regularly awkward.
I wasn’t sure what to expect tbh but if like me you live alone and struggle to heat via gas central heating this is an ideal way to stay warm and be more economical with your energy. It warms the room very well and I particularly like the target heat auto function that once it reaches it shuts off making it cost effective.
I’ve only a small living room but my house isn’t of modern standards and even still it holds the heat well. Worth every penny I may purchase another one for my bedroom.
The heater is everything smart, really good and heats up a decent sized living room.
Pros
– It comes with many features low/medium/high
– A whole load of lights
– Oscillation
– humidity and temp checker (also connects to govee thermostats)
– timers and the works
– smart Alexa integrated
Cons
– The heater was only switching on with alexa, not off. Alexa was saying it’s not responding. Took me a good hour to find an article on Reddit saying to not name it heater, but “my Heater”. That solved the issue.
– as with all fans, once you turn it off it’s a done deal and the temp starts to drop again. I don’t know whether this is a good solution for saving energy, possibly getting an oil heater might be better.
– colour options, only available in black…stands out in my fully white house.
Heats up the room really quickly and there are 3 heat settings if you get too hot or cold. Great design so looks good in the room and changeable coloured light at the bottom. Fairly quiet – sounds like soft white noise which you can’t hear if the tvs on or people are talking. Not sure how economical it is as my smart monitor isn’t working – should find out when I get my next bill. Clothes also dry quickly you hang them on a maiden in the same room as the heater. Very satisfied with it so far, hope it lasts a long time
Excellent performance, smart design. We control the on/off and timer via wifi and it is so satisfying. The size looks small but it warms a 130ft room in seconds!
Another beautiful item from Govee, I’ve ordered many of their items and love them all, this fan was the latest to my collection and its great, really warm, quite, looks stunning great design, and works well with the app and alexa. I did encounter a slight issue although Govee customer service is impeccable and put things right the same day. I honestly can’t recommend this company highly enough. Good quality at an affordable price along with top customer service. What more can you ask for.
I bought this because I have recently had solar panels and battery installed. I wanted something to warm the room I work in so I don’t have to have the heating on. It’s about 1.5kw per hour on average- so if you are paying for electric that’s 45p an hour (someone correct me if this is wrong). My power comes either straight from the panels on a cold bright day or a combination of that plus stored energy. My heating costs about 80p per hour on gas. I know I could turn radiators off, which I’ve tried but then it’s a faff turning them all on again when the house needs heating.
It’s also great when I’m away as the WI-FI link (which was easy to set up) allows control from anywhere, so when away in the winter I can put it on for my more sensitive house plants, especially the Basil and Chillies.
It sufficiently heats a fairly large room.
Been using this for a week to boost the temperature of a large but chilly bedroom. It works fine but should do even better if i could understand the user instructions. I haven’t yet managed to make it work with the app and not for the want of trying.
I’m very impressed with this heater, so much that we purchased another one!
We have a very cold house thanks to our landlord refusing to insulate the porch and the kitchen being draughty. As a result we would need to have our gas central heating on constantly to keep it even a little warm, but still have draughts even with the central heating on. So we started using Fan heaters last year to warm the rooms quickly and cheaper. It is ideal to just blast the room for an hour, even our large living room. Electric use has jumped significantly, but it still remains cheaper than if we had our heating on constant so works for us in this situation.
I really love that it is smart and works with Alexa! I can use my phone to work it, the touch pad on the top, I can ask Alexa to do it or I can set schedules so it comes on and off when I want. We have a routine set for our sons one in his bedroom so it comes on an hour before he comes home from school, meaning his room is nice and warm. You can also set a timer if you don’t want to schedule, up to 3hrs on the touch pad or longer on the app. This is super useful, I use it on a night so we can heat the room for an hour and then it turns off automatically.
I really love the nightlight, plenty of different colours and scenes. We often use the fireplace one which softly glows and pulses red, orange and yellow. It’s lovely at night and not too bright.
I love the appearance too, it looks like a massive speaker very stylish! For a small heater it packs some serious heat too!
Honestly I massively recommend this! It is a shame it is on the more expensive side, if it was under 50 I would have given 5 stars. But the price isn’t that off putting for me, just might be a bit too much if you are on more of a tight budget. If you need a heater which has smart capabilities then I absolutely recommend, definitely worth it. But if you don’t need the smart capabilities then it might be over priced for what you want.
Exactly as the title says. On the top setting it’ll warm up a decent size room but will take a while. Certainly not cheap to run either so probably best for just a quick blast so to speak.
This is a nice compact heater, I can feel it from one side of my living room to the other though it is a small room I can tell its probably it’s effective limit so don’t expect it to heat all of downstairs etc, personally I’ll be taking it into the shed over the winter when I do odd jobs and use it as a bit of a chilly morning booster while I get ready to start the day.
I’d say it’s absolutely ideal for an office heater or any single room heating, or anything with closed doors I’m confident it’ll warm up nicely.
The govee app is nice as always, nice to use and you can change the colour of the Nightlight function (or turn it off) along with scheduling for on/off just to name a few, plus Alexa integration.
Back to the device itself, it has a Low, Medium & High setting which use more power accordingly which I’ve included screenshot of just from my energy monitor (which is reading only the heater)
After that there’s a Auto option, which allows you to set a target temperature and it’ll turn on/off accordingly.
(and the govee app let’s you fine tune the thermostat so if you think it’s wrong you can adjust it yourself)
Bonus: I wasn’t expecting a Fan only button, but to my surprise/delight the app has one and it’s actually quite an effective little fan, doesn’t have any extra speeds or anything so probably won’t be your heatwave weapon of choice, but it’s enough to get some air moving.
I’d say the noise levels are perfectly reasonable for a fan heater, certainly not loud but you know it’s on.
All in all, nice heater.. Bit pricey for a heater but it’s Smart (WiFi/Bluetooth/Alexa) it looks very nice, and functions well.
Big improvement on the last heater I had which was similar size this thing heats the room up really nicely.
I linked it with an external thermometer from the same manufacturer, a process which was trivial, and then set up a target temperature – and it just ticks away. I can use the graphing on the thermometer at any time to validate the temperature of the room (which is a garage hence not heated by house central heating).
I’ve started using the schedule function now so that before I even get in the room it’s been warmed up (now that its getting to sub zero over night, it was getting too cold in the garage 🙂 ) – that works a treat, and is super fast to bring the room up to temperature, I may just set it to start the schedule a bit later 🙂
Very good, neat and tidy, app is fantastic (works well, looks great, not at all like some of those other dodgy looking ones) and functionality is spot on. Definitely recommend.
After some initial hesitation due to mixed reviews, I’m pleased with my decision to purchase this smart portable heater and want to share my experience for others who might be undecided.
The noise level is surprisingly pleasant. Despite being sensitive to noise, I find the heater’s sound similar to a gentle seaside breeze, which, combined with the warm air, creates a soothing effect.
Regarding the app, some reviews mentioned it being confusing, but as someone familiar with smart devices, I found it intuitive and easy to navigate. So if you have same experience with smart devices, you should be fine. Its standout feature is the ability to change WiFi settings directly within the app, saving the trouble of unpairing and re-pairing when moving to a new network — a frequent occurrence for me.
I later purchased a thermometer/hygrometer from the same company, and pairing it with the heater was simple. The direct communication between the thermostat and heater is a great feature, because it allows for timely adjustments in the heater’s behavior based on the actual room temperature, rather than just the area immediately around the heater. This ensures the room stays at the desired temperature, automatically and efficiently.
The heater’s compact design is a major advantage, fitting easily on various surfaces like a bedside table for targeted warmth. I particularly enjoy the scheduling feature, which pre-warms my room before I wake up, and the quick heating capability for immediate warmth when needed.
In summary, I’m very satisfied with this heater. It’s an excellent option for those looking for an affordable, energy-efficient heating solution, especially if you are adept with smart technology.
So much heat for such a neat looking little heater! Live in an electric heated only property and my panel heaters cost 98p per hour each, this on a low setting is around 25p! And took the small room with no heater in it from 15 degrees to 22 degrees in 10 minutes, will be buying another one. Also really light and the app works really good not sure what some people are on about, set up in 2 minutes. 5 sta
I’ve got it to heat a very small room. I already had a larger ceramic heater from DeLonghi, which is working in a bigger room, but this little heater is so much better (and cheaper) than DeLonghi!
First – it’s the speed. In just one minute, I feel the difference, while with larger heater it would take 5. And we are talking about the same technology heaters here, not “oil vs ceramics”, so it means something.
Second – you can start this heater using mobile app, while still in bed. And you can share it with family members. Supposedly, you should be able to link it to thermometer too, but that option in app was disabled for me, even though I have their thermometers.
Note, that reported temperature may be a bit off for a few days, but it will calibrate itself soon, so different devices will show the same temperature. Initially they likely won’t.
Either way, just for its incredible efficiency at heating, it’s a solid 5 stars.
The whole experience can be summed up in seven key points:
1 It arrived on time and very well packed. Five stars to the hard-working Amazon drivers and packers.
2 It is a very nice unit and it has that ‘quality’ feel. It will last.
3 The App and Alexa allow that fine-tuned level of control that I suspect most people want from this.
NB I also got the remote thermometer.
4 This above combination allow you to shape precisely what you want it to do; be it heat up a small room to X, or be able to turn it on before you come home, or set it to come on a precise time, or just stick it on for five minutes with a timer to your feet warm. Safety is also clearly very high up here and you can get notifications to your phone that it has tipped over and switched off. That’s good when you have young monkeys, sorry children, in the house.
5 The major let down is the App, it’s clunky, confused and difficult to set up. Only by ‘accident’ did I manage to finally connect up the wifi, bluetooth (for the remote thermometer) and my phone. Alexa saves the day (even more difficult to set up) and gives you the vocal ability to control the heater.
6 Finally, it’s very quiet. The kind of quiet you want when a young baby just went down and you need to creep out of the room.
7 The light at the base I initially thought was a gimmick, but it is quite a nice feature and you have a wide control over how it displays lights and the colours e.g. Tempo mode or Rainbow mode.
The heater itself gets five stars, but the App drags it down to four. If you can manage to get it working with Alexa it probably comes back to 4.5 Stars.
The heater is efficient at warming smaller rooms quickly. It’s energy consumption is notable when on for any length of time. The app appears simple enough at first but when you need to trouble shoot it’s vague. I need the heater to come on at specific times during the day while I’m at work to keep my cage birds comfortable so its all App based use for me. We lost power here the other night and had to reboot the heater. Although paired with my router it struggled to reconnect to the Internet. I followed all suggested stages on the App but no luck. I eventually looked up YouTube videos and low and behold this is a common problem. You have to delete the heater from the App and reinstall the unit. I’m certainly not particularly tech savvy and I can see this being a problem for some of the intended client base.
