I have gotten 3 over the past few years and each one has been great, the older one is about 4 yeasr old with alot of use and still not one fault with it. if your looking for big fruits or nice big colurful flower i would say to get 2, witch still keeps your price under some of the big brands out there and does the job. only reason i got a 3rd is it was on sale and i could not leave it there lol. No harm in having a spare. Hope this helps
I like it, it is bright and was packed well and delivered super quick. Time till tell how my plants like it. I am using it in a grow tent for my Carnivorous plants.
The fan is pretty loud, louder than I expected it to be. I have the TV on in the same room as the grow tent is in and I can hear the fan on the light clearly.
Sick little light besides the fact it burnt out after two runs not years so a few months really, shame because a mate bought the same light with a different diode set up which means I got a faulty one, but I received rest help from Sean a koscheal, I would recommend these lights with a warning they might not last long but can squeeze out a fair fruiting for the price.
I used this light in my ikea greenhouse,, think it would also be perfect in a grow tent.
Not super loud, have it on in my lounge and its not noticeable. I do wish it had a dimmer switch because it is very bright. But actually this is great because the spill off light is enough to keep veg seedlings happy (see photo) and also perfect light fir my v.monstera albo. Thumbs up from me!
I have previously used a similar unit, calling itself 600W. (The wattage rating is a bit misleading, but that seems to be standard with these things.) This new 2000W unit is indeed considerably brighter, and it runs a bit warmer. The difference was noticeable right away, with more and faster growth. Very happy so far (5 days after delivery).
The light is not working properly, the veg works but no bloom when I switch it on. The last one I got exactly the same works perfectly. The damage is probably due to it being handled roughly & probably thrown in and out of vans I am angry to say the least and will be calling you tomorrow.
Gave the lamps 5 stars even though the developed faults after 6 months. The fault being that a 1/4 of blue lamps in the same quadrant failed to illuminate on both lamps.
Up to that point they had produced an excellent crop with no hassle at all and for that reason I would have given them a five star rating on that alone.
It may have been a coincidence that both lamps produced an identical fault or it may have been down to a component failure in the driver circuitry but you can’t always blame the manufacturer. It could be down to it being a bad batch of devices that a sub-contractor has supplied.
The fact that kocheal offer a 3 year warranty makes me believe it was probably the latter.
Having contacted the company through amazon and advising them of my problem, the customer service representative could not have been more helpful, and I received 2 off replacement lamps. The timescale between reporting the problem and replacement lamps arriving was Wednesday evening to Tuesday the following week.
If the star rating was any higher I would have no hesitation in selecting it due the prompt customer service (from Sean).
Thanks
Extremely bright, I’ve been using this light to get my rare chilli plants and bonsai through the winter, I’ve noticed a definite improvement in my plants since using this light in my window, I had a few comments from neighbour’s with my previous blurple setup, with this light being a white light it creates less interest from people assuming I’m stupid enough to be growing cannabis on my window sill, the only downside is the fans are quite loud, the fans will keep the unit working longer I’m sure
I don’t write reviews often but this review is due to the customer service I received. I bought and received this product within a few working day (very quick and efficient) but unfortunately one of the fans on this was not working. I got in contact with the customer service team and got a response almost instantly and a replacement was sent out to me within 3 working days! Definitely impressed. The product is great and produces minimal heat and is very energy efficient! I will definitely be ordering again from these!
I bought and received This light today and it was solid and well built and all the attachments with it
Ive just hung it above my tomato plant & herbs so waiting to see how they react to the light
Wooooooow after afew days my plants have reacted well to this light. No heat what so ever and the fans are working great and quiet
Id certainly recommend getting this light to start out with then maybe upgrade to an SF1000 or SF2000 to get that extra
For your plants. Really good light overal
Well built and lovely spectrum that the plants adore.
Fans are a bit loud. But nothing too bad, unless you live in your plant tent.
Overall absolutely brilliant value for money
Okay so honestly the fans are pretty loud and that is a downside. However this thing is insanely good. The power consumption as documented in the TPLink monitor plug is 78w that is only 0.078kWh which means if you run this for 12 hours a day for 30 days it will use 28.08kWh in a month. Look on your electricity bill for kWh cost or the unit price and multiply that by 28. That is how much it will cost a month. My own electric unit cost is 0.1739 which means over the span of a month my bill will increase by 4.88! It is so worth it!
I live in Ireland and as I say in the title this thing is now for me! I have SAD (seasonal affective disorder) and just like today it rained so much I didn’t see it get light. Well turning this thing on is like suddenly the sun exploding into your world. It lifts the mood instantly. Now in comparison to a full spectrum light bulb which has a more blue tone, this has a pure white with the barest hint of warmth. I will literally use this light all the time and even for drawing.
Not used it above any veg yet, still to set everything up for growing microgreens and veg through the winter, but I have done some electrical tests.
There is a big issue with all LED lighting on Amazon and eBay is where sellers are claiming ludicrous wattage which bears no resemblance to the truth. The ONLY figure that makes any sense is the ACTUAL wattage of the light, this light claims to be equivalent to a 2000w ‘normal’ light which is a load of old dross and claims to be 200w actual current draw which is the figure I have been looking at to compare it to other lights available.
There are several lights available that claim to be 2000w equivalent, and list an actual wattage of 100w, there are 4000w equivalents that also list the actual wattage as 100w, I have seen one that is 2000w equivalent and the actual draw is listed as 65w.
So there is a great deal of lying about the equivalent light power out there and this one is no different, but as I said there is no point in even considering the equivalent to wattage anyway, it is just a marketing ploy, but the bigger problem is that there are manufacturers/ sellers that not only lie about that but lie about the actual wattage which is the only real comparison.
If a light claims to be 100w actual power turns out to be 50w in reality it is only half the power it should be! a blatant rippoff.
All that said, I am please to report that this light actually draws 232W, which is above the claimed actual wattage of 215w, that is very good 😉
For interest, on Veg or bloom only the power consumed is 117w, so half the power and cost..
I have also done a quick Lux test, outside in daylight without direct sun the reading was 800 to 1000 Lux, in the direct setting sun it was 24000 Lux. At a distance of 36″ the LED light gave 4500 Lux, and at a distance of 12 inches it was about 25000 Lux, this was just using a Lux meter app on my Galaxy S6 so accuracy is questionable but the comparison to the light outside is valid.
The light build is solid, it feels light you have some value in hand, the light is extremely intense so don’t be tempted to eyeball it like I did otherwise you won’t be able to see straight for about half an hour!
When I get my Microgreens trays etc set up I will update this review to include actual growing results but I am fairly confident it will be all good.
I’m using this light to grow some rare hard to grown chilli plants.
I’ve connected it up to a smart timer plug which can measure the wattage it’s using and it seems to use a steady average of 76 watts per hour which is hardly anything.
I have set mine up with a timer plug to have it switch on for 12hrs during the day and switch off for 12hrs at night. I’ve got to say that the plant has really responded well to this light, it seems to be thriving. The full light spectrum must be helping and is a real added bonus. The other thing I like is the colour of the emitted light is like a cool white, not the usual pink colour from the red and blue lights.
I like the ratchet hanging system that it is suspended from, you can easily raise and lower the height of the lamp by pulling string through the ratchet clip. And it has another plug socket on the top so you can attach another device like another light by daisy chaining them together.
