A fun adventure most Dark Souls fans will enjoy – it’s faster paced and has some mechanics that take a little getting used to. It ‘clicked’ for me about 3 hours in but has consistently given a challenge at each subsequent boss. Cutscenes seem to struggle a bit but gameplay is consistently smooth. Not many people seem to be playing in coop so be prepared to ‘git gud’!
I’m in the final area of my first play through, so feel it’s time to write a review.
Firstly, it does have performance issues. It’s never crashed for me, it’s just frame stutter and texture load in. The later in the game you get the more apparent they become. But, the developers are actively trying to fix it, and updates are coming regularly, so there’s definitely hope.
That being said, I love this game so much, even with the issues. The world is AMAZING! And there are so many build opportunities, armour sets etc, it’s crazy! It’s brutally difficult in places, but it’s never put me off.
After playing for over 50 hours I’m still having a blast! I already know I’m going to end up with more hours in this than any other soulslike.
Without the issues it would be a 5 star game, for me personally. But each to their own, do your research and decide if the issues and play style and things you can live with. If you’re worried then just wait for future patches.
For me though, I don’t regret the purchase one bit! 🙂
The game is not perfect but the 2 reviews giving it a 1 star and saying it is “unplayable” are just pathetic. There have been some small technical issues here and there that should have been sorted before release but nothing big enough to warrant labelling it as that.
This is the best soulslike I have played so far and anyone who enjoys those games will very much enjoy this too.
First things first you will either love it or hate it stunning. Beautiful game frustrating at times due to the amount of times you will die.. But stick with it… after 8 hours still stuck on the 1st main boss but give it time getting better and not rage quit yet lol

I give it a 8.9 out of 10. It is a must buy.
