This dock comes in a retail cardboard box and inside you’ll find the dock and a quick start guide.
The dock is made from plastic and has a striking line design on its casing. The inner tray, where the Steam Deck rests, has a rubber strip which has the same line design as the case, so it doesn’t scratch the bottom of the SD. It has a HDMI 2.0 port which supports up to 4k@60Hz and supports up to 144Hz at lower resolutions. There is a toggle button on the top of the dock which switches between TV mode and the Steam Deck screen. There are a few seconds delay, but the picture is displayed on the TV with no artifacts or lag that I’ve noticed.
USB peripherals worked without any problems and keyboard and mouse were just plug and play. The RGB light is a nice addition to the dock as it scrolls along the length of it and adds a splash of colour to the whole black setup
While this doesn’t feel quite as prestige as the official dock, it has several advantages when it comes to a price per feature ratio. The screen switching is a very welcome feature, and the RGB lighting is a nice touch if a little lacklustre. There are a reasonable number of ports but they feel under-powered for what I use the dock for. Others have mentioned the lack of USB-3 and I concur, and also the lack of options when it comes to what you can connect up to an external device. Generally effective though.
This steam deck dock , 5-in-1 docking station for steam deck with 4K@60Hz HDMI 2.0, 100W PD input (45W for stream deck), 3xUSB-A 2.0, RGB light, screen switch function.
Bigger screen visual feast.
Connect without limit!
One key switch, coolest RGB switch.
Great product I think the price is reasonable and alright.
I recommend!!
This comes in a lot cheaper than the official Dock and, although it doesn’t have all the same features as an official dock, it still works really well
So what’s its flaws? Basically, no USB 3 ports and no display cable ports. For me, that was about the only issue I have with the dock and tbh it’s not a lack that’s a problem for me. The RGB is a nice touch but you do get what you pay for, so don’t expect top tier, quality RGBing. But for its price it’s still good RGB
So what does it do right? All the things you want it to do. Plug in the Deck, plug in your output cables, plug it into the mains if want the RGB effect, and away you go. The display change switch on the dock works well and saves having to plug in cables for different displays
The Minthouz Steam Deck Dock worked out of the box without any issues, comes in a standardized but patterned black finish. Enclosed apart from the dock, you find a small manual of instructions as well.
Overall the dock has a texturised feel to it, rather than just the standard plain plastic. The stand has silicon inlaid in the dock grip to protect your steam deck from scratches. Generous with the ports, you get round the back 3x USB 2.0 ports and 1 hdmi port (upto 4k). It also has a usb-c port for power/passed through to the steam deck, which when used, will charge the deck and light the rainbow rgb panel on the front.
Hdmi works as expected, you can switch it off via the button ontop of the dock, which has a pleasant green ring to show your monitor output is working. You can flip between the steam deck and an external monitor using the switch, which saves on unplugging cables all the time. It is also a nice color too.
The rainbow RGB is a long line on the underside of the front panel and quite pleasant, it extends the length of the dock, but isnt too over bright in terms of distraction. If you use the dock unpowered the RGB does not light up. This is normal function of the unit. The cable for the usb-c to the steam deck is a little stiff and thick, but works fine otherwise. I would say this lengthens the life of the cable.
All the USB devices I tried were recognised straight away and I had no issues utilising a mouse and keyboard with the dock on the steam deck, or even on my tablet either.
Good value dock, lacks a network connector though for ethernet, but for the price point it is a good buy.
Connect your steam deck via the dock, and enjoy your steam games on your big screen tv, Emits a pleasant rainbow RGB lighting effect too.
I upgraded from my Sabrent dock to this one for the screen switch button. I had no issues with setting up the dock and connecting to my portable monitor, all ports (HDMI, USB 2.0, USB-C) worked perfectly fine.
The RGB lighting is a nice touch but there’s a few things I’m not so keen on. The transition between different colours isn’t as smooth as I would have liked and I would have preferred if there was a button to turn it on/off. The lighting also only turns on while receiving power from the mains.
The best thing about the dock for me and the only reason I got it in the first place is the screen switch button which makes switiching between screens so much easier. Previously I had to disconnect the cable to switch between screens but with this dock it’s as simple as pressing a button so it’s been worth getting for me despite the issues I have with the RGB lighting. For the price it’s 3x cheaper than the official dock and while it’s not perfect with the RGB and lacks 3.0 USB ports it’s still worth it to me just for the screen switch button. Personally though I would probably not buy it at full price but when on sale for around 20 it’s worth grabbing.
If you have a Steam Deck, having the ability to show this on a big screen is a must and this dock allows this via a simple plug and play cable.
Inside the box you get the Deck dock, and instruction sheet. On the back of the dock are 3x USB 2 ports, a HDMI port and the USB C power input, along with the USB C cable to connect to the Steam Deck.
On the top is the monitor switch that turns the monitor on and off, which works in anout 3 seconds from switching
On the front are a set of RGB lights which are very bright and only have 1 function of scrolling colours. It’s a shame that there was no way of switching this, even to a single colour. It’s also a shame that there is no way of turning these off, other than unplugging the power cable so the deck doesn’t charge, but that may arrive in a future version.
In use, this works well, and displays the Deck screen on a monitor or TV easily and looks great. There was no input lag from the games I played. Plugging USB devices in are recognised immediately, with a mouse and keyboard being what I used.
Overall, a good steam deck dock, just let down a little by the RGB lights and USB 2, but you don’t really worry about the USB interface too much as it works.

The 4K@60Hz HDMI 2.0 output delivers stunning visuals, making games come to life on the big screen. The 100W PD input, with 45W specifically for the Steam Deck, ensures not only a seamless gaming experience but also efficient charging during extended play sessions.
The inclusion of three USB-A 2.0 ports adds practicality, allowing for additional accessories or peripherals to be connected effortlessly. The RGB light feature adds a touch of flair to the setup, creating a gaming atmosphere that enhances the overall experience.
The screen switch function is a brilliant addition, offering the flexibility to toggle between the Steam Deck’s display and an external screen seamlessly. It’s a feature that adds convenience and adaptability to the gaming setup.
The Minthouz Steam Deck Dock is a must-have accessory for Steam Deck enthusiasts. Its versatile features, high-quality output, and thoughtful design make it an essential component for an immersive gaming experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their Steam Deck setup.
This worked fine for me. Plug your USB C Steam Deck charger cable into the back and the attached cable into your Deck and you are good to go. Only accepts HDMI cable link to your TV and monitor so display port cables cannot be used.
Only supports USB2 but this should suffice for controllers etc. Not sure why the listing states USB 3.0, the ports on the dock are labelled 2.0.
Ensure you have a wired controller/keyboard to use directly to USB. The Steam Deck screen goes blank when connected to a monitor through this dock, although the Steam deck controls still work. Works well on my PC monitor although you may need to change the Steam Deck settings for expand to fit, in display settings if it doesn’t fill the screen.
Dock works well with no issue setting it up. There is a button on the dock which switches between screen displays which works surprisingly well. This seems better than my other dock which I have to unplug to switch the display back to the deck. My only criticism with this dock is the RGB light. The light and pattern is fine when in use but can be a distraction when not in use. There is no way to switch this off or at least change the colour or pattern which is a shame. I will have to turn the plug off when it’s not in use which is not convenient.
