It worked from first time and works well with my phone. Setup is easy and really connects quickly with my phone when I switch on my car. Nice excellent device.

So I have CarPlay but it’s wired and bought this really to see if wireless made a difference. It does, no need to pull out my phone everytime I get in my car. As for CarPlay, it just works, it does take maybe 12-18 seconds to “boot-up” but after that it just works, everything is super responsive, just like it was when wired.

So my iPhone decided the charging port would stop so no CarPlay so I thought I’d have a go with this one.
I definitely made the right choice I’ve got a 2016 VW Tiguan and it connects within seconds of getting in the car be time I have my seat belt on it’s connected do really impressive as I was thinking originally it would take 15 to 30 seconds but it’s much faster.
I’ve so far not lost signal or had any lag or drop outs so very happy with this little box.
    10/10

Endlich CarPlay ohne Kabel. Der Preis fr diesen Komfort ist allerdings sehr hoch.4/5

Das Teil ist super. Passt plug and play.

This is a comprehensive and fair review, considering I have used VAG Group OEM wireless car play, and mutiple options from a popular brand with car and kit in its name, in multiple different vehicles.

This review is aimed at those who are looking for a fairly priced, realistic experience when using a wireless CarPlay adapter — and understand that it is hard to find the perfect one.

    ** Connection Reliability – and a half — 4.5/5 **
    /Comparisons/

/OEM — 9.5 out of 10 times it connects within 30 to 60 seconds (I consistently went to the brand dealerships to get software updates as previously it would only work 50% of the time).
/This MMB Device — 9 out of 10 times it connects within 30 to 60 seconds
/Other popular brand — 6.5 out of 10 times connects within 30 to 60 seconds

To clarify what counts as an unsuccessful connection: the iPhone thinks it is connected to CarPlay, but nothing is shown on your car screen, as when you try to fix the problem by turning wifi off and on, the iPhone notifies you that this will disconnect CarPlay, and/or when you play audio from your iPhone, no audio is heard. Further, an unsuccessful connection is when restarting the infotainment system in an OEM install, or unplugging and plugging back in an adapter, does not resolve the issue.

I have yet to find any OEM fitted or CarPlay adapter that has a 100% success rate, so the MMB adapter here is “better than the rest” at a 90% success rate, particularly when compared to the price of the alternatives. At the time of review, it is 41.39 with a 10% voucher applied.

However, there is one big caveat here, and I will update my review if I find it to be true: with my, now returned, other branded adapter that I have used, I went through 3 replacements, where they would start off working perfectly, and then within a few weeks, if not days, it would start to show connection problems. I have had this MMB for a week now, so I will share my results if the above score changes.

**Screen Responsiveness & Built In Steering Wheel/Infotainment Controls — 5/5**
Wired CarPlay should provide an instant response to your touch, however, I have never found a wireless CarPlay solution, OEM or 3rd party, that does the same. There is always a minimal, but noticeable in comparison, delay — particularly when controlling music (more on that below).

If you have never used wired CarPlay, you probably wouldn’t notice the difference.

This MMB adapter is providing me with the same response time as any other wireless CarPlay adapter — given the lower cost, I was expecting it to be a reduced experience, but that is certainly not the case — I am really, really, happy to see this.

My video attached to this review shows this — I have blurred out my address on the maps — that isn’t the MMB adapter!

**Music Control / Sound Delay and Audio Quality – 5/5**
Again, this MMB adapter is providing me with the same experience as OEM or 3rd party wireless CarPlay. In that yes, there is a good few seconds between you changing songs or pausing for it to happen.

Even if you haven’t used wired CarPlay before, you will notice this as you have enough time to think it hasn’t worked — particularly as wired CarPlay is instant.

The audio quality is the same as non-CarPlay, wired and other wireless setups I have used. Unnoticeable anyway.

It works perfectly with the infotainment and steering wheel controls in my current Golf.

Because this is working just like every other wireless setup I have used, it still gets 5 out of 5 here.

    Signal / proximity to receiver – 4/5**
OEM CarPlay — can usually be anywhere in the car, maybe not the boot.

Every other wireless adapter I have used, including this MMB one — needs to be in the front seats, potentially can’t be kept in a pocket either — to connect.

This seems to be a limitation of these small adapters, where I find I can’t keep my phone in my bag, and if wearing jeans, not in my pocket either. The closer it is, the higher chance of success to connect.

Given the convenience of wireless CarPlay is that you don’t have to get your phone out, is frustrating.

    **In the box**
Included is a USB A to USB C and a USB C to USB C cable, and a sticky pad if you want to stick this to the back of a cubby.

    **In summary – 5/5**
You might ask why 5 stars if it only connected 90% of the time?

For one reason – because this is an exceptional success rate, compared to other lower cost adapters — and I understand that the limitations — particularly with the control delay with audio, is a problem with even OEM standard fits of wireless CarPlay — without advancements in the wireless technology used, it probably won’t get better anytime soon.

I give you my word that if any of this experience changes, I will update my review to let you know — as an Amazon Vine Reviewer, I take pride in giving you a genuine story of my experiences.

It’s really good quality. Quick Bluetooth connectivity and its compact size to even if you leave it in car.

Sound quality was good as connected through cable. Really recommend it if you want to experience handsfree apple play in your ca

Very easy to set-up. This is a life saver for me as my phones charger port is faulty, so having a wireless CarPlay is perfect. Seems like a solid product much better than the alternatives I’ve tested.

This works great in my 2010 Citroen C3 and managed to setup in a matter of minutes. Connection time is around 5 seconds from switching ignition on. Smooth in use, no noticeable lag on audio, navigation works. I don’t think there is any difference from using a cable, except I don’t have a cable awkwardly hanging around the gear stick. Very pleased for the price.

Works perfectly just as described, very smooth and has all the same functionality as wired CarPlay. Sound Quality and navigation is all the same as wired, no quality drop at all. 10/10
