Found this easy to use and effective. It would have been nice if the rod was longer. Top tip, your your smartphone front facing camera to take a picture from below…
Tried this on our 125cc and it showed the back end slightly out of alignment I was able to make the adjustment in real time with it still attached. I had been using the string method before but this is much easier do and a lot less hassle. Seemingly provides more accurate result as well. It wasn’t off by loads, but it’s the small things that need to be adjusted and the back wheel is one of those that needs to be when setting the chain tension proper. So it really does help.
Perfect for aligning your chain on a motorcycle or a pushbike.
Simply attach the fixture to the chain and eye up the straight rod to the chain to make sure your front and rear Sprockets are perfectly in line. This is acritical part of your maintenance as perfect alignment reduces friction, wear, noise. It will pay for itself.
well made, will last a lifetime.
Very easy to use, help to check your chain alignment, alongside using the marks on the swingarm.
Tried it on my 500cc motorbike and my bigger 1050cc, neither bike chain needed adjusting but it was quick and easy to visually see how good alignment was, as I normally use the swingarm adjuster marks and then check the chain is running central on the rear sprocket and not off to one side to guarantee everything is aligned.
If I was being picky, the stainless rod could be a few inches longer to make it easier to be more accurate, but overall it did the job and is well designed and good quality.
The clamp bolts have a serrated head to grip with your fingers easily, the tool is nicely made and well worth having in your toolbox
Not something I would buy but better than using my eye, I have a single speed e Bike and getting a good chain alignment is quite important to help stop wear, normally I would use a straight edge but getting the chance to try this out I could not say no.
The little clamp clamps on well and the rod is the same just slide it in and tighten the thumb screw, the chain should align with the rod, if not out come the spacers, but it looks like my eye line was good as the chain is straight.
Neat little tool that works.
