Never had this brand before but I am very pleased with this laptop. Very good quality, love my light up keyboard. Very fast when opening pages, it’s weights same as my previous laptop. Good size screen for my work. Thanks
I paid 360 for this latop back i September and mine included the usb3.2 with display and PD charging which I have tested out and it works fine! I think the display is crisp and clear, mines set-up with a remote display which to fair is the one I use the most whilst working at home. It is really light for travelling.
I would certainly look at this make again in 8 – 10 years time for an upgrade!
Well done MSI for producing a smart little laptop!
I’ve now had this laptop 6 weeks now and so far I’m really impressed.
For what I paid (380), I got a laptop that ticked all my boxes for a cheaper price than I could find anywhere else.
It has a nice display, not amazing but it is good. I’ve seen better, but only on much more expensive laptops. Keyboard is nice enough, backlighting a good bonus and the I/O slots are fairly decent with 2xusb 1xusb3 1xusbC 1xhdmi 1xmicro-sd(i think), a headphone jack and AC adapter. Unfortunately it doesn’t support USB-C charging, which is a bit of a let down as it’s so much easier to carry a USB-C cable, compared to the full A-C adapter and brick.
Design is nice enough in black, made from plastic but doesn’t look/feel cheap. Nice thin bezels, sleek and modern (not that modern) design. Webcam is decent and speakers are okay. The whole thing is a fingerprint magnet, which is a bit of a shame
The 12th gen i5 is really good, and a big step up from my previous 9th gen i5.16 gb of ram would’ve been perfect but a loss I was willing to take. I then looked to see if I could upgrade the ram, task manager said 2 of 2 slots used, but later found out that my model has ram that is soldered onto the motherboard, meaning I can’t upgrade . Another loss that isn’t a huge deal for me, but might be for others.
The Intel iris XE graphics are decent if you want to play older games or games like civ, fm, csgo even fortnite should all be able run fine but if you want to properly game on a laptop just get one with a dedicated GPU.
That being said, the graphics are a huge step up from previous intel graphics.
Overall I am very pleased with this laptop and would recommend if you are fine with 8gb ram, non usb-c charging, finger prints and if you’re looking to spend under 500. For 380 I’m really impressed, I still cannot find another laptop with a 12th gen i5 for this price.
Maybe the ryzen laptops at this price could be slightly better, but I much prefer intel personally.
For me it’s a 5, but just.
