If you’re looking for a sturdy bag that fits a Nanlite FS300 with the reflector or other bigger lights, this is the bag for you. It has sturdy walls with nice padding and some removable dividers and concave cushions, so you can organise it however you want. I wish it was a little bit lighter, but still amazing value for money! Definitely recommend!
Thank you Neewer! I am so happy with all of your camera and video products and this Bannister no exception!
Although it’s built with the intention to house a specific light made by Neewer, I use it to carry a pair of LED light panels and stands. The quality couldn’t be better. The stitching and materials used to make this bag are top notch.
The optional inserts can be used in different ways to hold different audio video equipment. When closed, there is lots of protection despite it not being a hard shell case, it feels very sturdy and light weight as well. Everywhere you expect there to be padding and bumpers, there is. I love the inside pocket that is part of the lid which holds all my cables, and the shoulder strap is great for carrying to different filming or shooting locations comfortably.
I’ll say it again, I own many Neewer products now and I’m very happy with the quality of every single one, and this bag/case does not disappoint.
Yes there are other options that may be slightly less expensive (not by much) if you intend to use this as a general purpose camera/light bag, however I own those too, and they are more flimsy and don’t hold up to the bar that Neewer has set with their products.
I love that the interior dividers and support cushions can be removed; with the generous interior volume, it works well as an interim storage bag for other accessories while I have my studio lights setup. I can confirm that this fits a S101-300W lamp with plenty of room to spare.
Construction wise, I like that the side walls are lined with a thick internal plastic guard lined with foam; The bag feels strong enough to withstand side impacts and drops. I did not see any issues with the exterior fabric nor any mis-sewn parts; the metal zipper pulls operated very smoothly.
It’s nice that the shoulder strap has metal mounting hardware and clips onto the metal loops without any fuss; I did not find the bag too cumbersome to carry with my studio lamp loaded inside. With the dual handle straps, I find this bag much easier to carry than a large hard case.
Upon initial inspection, there was no prominent plastic odour nor any weird factory scent emitting from the bag.
This is an amazing carrying bag for a flash! This can also be used for other sorts of camera gear as well, and easily configured. The bag is spacious and has very solid walls to protect your gear incase you drop it. This is perfect for expensive flashes. The only negative thing I have to say is the bag is a little heavy due to the thick build material. More expensive bags may use lighter and equally strong material.
The bag comes with a strap if you want to carry it around your shoulders as well as velcro on the handles of the bag. Inside the bag, there are two dividers to divide your equipment. If you have velcro pads from other bags you can stick them inside as well. The walls allow for velcro to attach to the sides. On the top, there’s a space for small items which can be zipped closed.
Pros:
– spacious
– rugged
– water resistant
– multipurpose bag
– Velcro handles
– dividers
– useful for more than just a flash
– inexpensive compared to brand names
Cons:
– heavy
– awkward around shoulders
Neewer comes through again with a very strong carry case for lighting and accessories. Though designed for specific sets of lights, I’m using this one (I got two different versions of this, to try them both) for extra “miscellaneous” parts, tripods, and tripod mounting gear. It will hold several collapseable 10 foot tripods!
The case itself is very strong, and has a shock-resistant base. It’s a semi-hardened case, with hard shell walls, but are lined with material instead of plastic. It looks great, and holds everything intact well. It also comes with a shoulder strap, to assist with carrying if your lights are heavy (mine aren’t, so I just keep the strap in the zippered storage pocket on the inside of the top of the case). It has PLENTY of storage, and is a great value for the price point.
Very pleased with this, and am giving it the full 5 stars for my rating.
This case is much heavier in construction than what I usually expect from an equipment case. However for someone wishing to give special care to their main lighting unit, to the point of carrying it apart from the rest of the gear, this should do the job. The case empty weighs 2.5 Kg.
The exterior fabric seems to be top grade and has a classy appearance. It was a surprise when I noticed a seam at the back left corner has several inches of stitching that has gone astray. Otherwise I couldn’t see any faults in this example.
I unzipped the inner fabric liner to reveal the main protective material that encases everything, at least around the sides that I could see. This is a shell of plastic, 6 mm thick. I’m guessing it is a blow molded ‘bin’ that rests over the bottom too. On the exterior of the bottom are 5 feet shaped like round bumpers. They hold the case about 10-12 mm clear of whatever surface you rest it on.
The inside padded separators adhere with hook and loop. There are two soft “pillows” of plush fabric shaped to have a half circle dip to cradle round parts of your gear.
