I have to admit, even though it’s a bit more expensive, this nifty gadget adds a lot of convenience to your car’s infotainment system. If your car already has factory wired CarPlay, this wireless dongle is a game-changer. Setting it up was a breeze; I just plugged it into the USB port, and my iPhone quickly connected to the car’s display. During my testing, the wireless connection remained stable, and I had access to all the CarPlay features I enjoy, like navigation, music, and calls — everything worked flawlessly.
Make sure your car is compatible before you buy it.
Once fitted (which was fairly easy for a first time user of anything like this), I find that it offers a great sound and keeps working and being ieasy to use.
I was doubting myself if this would work, after months trying to plug my phone into USB
It would work then go off after going over a bump.
Ottocast as changed everything , it connects easy and no problems at all
Audi wanted 600 to activate sat nav
Don’t need it now Google maps on ottocast brill
This is the 3rd unit ive tried from different places. The main issue i have is connecting to different phones, mine or my partners. By having this button, its easier to switch between phones depending whos driving. So far its doing everything as advertised and connects quick enough. It is more expensive than others out there but im willing to pay as long as it works on multiple phones. Bonus is there no keed for 3rd party apps. Simply connect onto the OTTO bluetooth and android auto will kick into action.
If your car has AirPlay but requires you to plug in your phone, this solution is perfect. Personally, I like to place my phone in the centre console while driving, so the wireless option is a must-have. Cables always get in the way and it looks tacky and inconvenient to constantly plug it in.
Setting up the system was quite simple and only took a few moments. After that, your phone will automatically connect every time you start your car. Once the screen is on, you won’t see any visual difference between wired and wireless CarPlay. It is pretty much plug-and-play.
There is a slight delay when using my steering wheel controls to change the track but I’m talking only mere seconds. It actually becomes less noticeable as you get used to it. I am really pleased with the sound quality, as I can’t distinguish between cable and wireless.
you can do everything that you would get with a wired connection. It does allow me to use the apps I need to see in my vehicle which are Google Maps and Apple Music. I’ve noticed app radio podcasts aren’t as good quality as a wired connection but as mentioned you get used to it.
Overall, considering the price point, this is an excellent option to eliminate cords and achieve a wireless setup in your vehicle. Not only does it provide a neater and more attractive appearance, but it also offers added convenience. You can simply leave it plugged in, turn on your car, and it will automatically connect every time after the initial setup.
Hope this review helps someone.
