Love this drone!
The drone flys for ages I got 2 batteries so 31 minutes x2 so over an hour flying. It’s just brilliant.
Camera isn’t crazy but tbh for that price I’m very happy with it.
First time purchasing a drone and im totally blown away… Surprisingly easy to use as i thought it would be a daunting task. I like the fact that the camera shoots in RAW for static shots and video in 4k30 and 1080p60. im glad i purchased this
Excellent drone up to a point where it stopped working altogether, 3 months after the purchase.
After q few emqiwl with the customer service and videos and photos, they ve sent another drone. All in all in 4 days.
Cours not be better and customer focus and experience at its bes
Bought this on a whim when I decided I wanted an FPV. Not having a proper gimbal wasn’t an issue for me – I like flying low and fast and you get a better perception of how it is responding to inputs and environment. Getting cinematic panoramic shots wasn’t my main concern.
Primarily chose this model because its got a fair old range (4km claimed) and is pretty quick. Good battery life just clinched it.
Found out its less stable indoors than outdoors when hovering, presumably because of no GPS indoors? Remarkably stable outdoors even in windy conditions.
Software is good with loads of useful information.
Only had it a week. Its taken a few tumbles (my fault) but still works perfectly after swapping props included.
Lots of fu
This is my first drone and I’m really impressed with it. Me and my son take it to the park where there are open fields and we both love it.
I did have one issue when the remote disconnect and the drone was unresponsive, but it did the fly home function so came back to us.
Overall I’m impressed with it and happy with my purchase.
My first proper drone I was a bit worried about buying one and spending all that money but can honestly say I love.
It’s very good for beginners as easy to fly but also good for experienced flyers.
It holds steady in windy conditions very well the only thing I could do with is obstacle avoidance but I managed without it.
Camera quality is very good overall love it and would recommend it.
I bought this drone after searching the market for a good all rounder drone that is good value for money, after comparing all options around the price range I decided on this potensic atom SE. This drone is very easy to set up and even though I was a total noob to drones, I found my way round this drone and the controls fairly easily, my first flight went better than expected due to the ease of use of this product (I expected to crash), but I did not and I ended up getting the hang of it in my first 2 batteries, once I’d drove around a good couple hours I was zipping around like a pro ! I could not recommend this drone enough for a beginner, it is very fast, manoeuvrable, easy to use, and the battery lasts a long time, not to mention the video quality is surprisingly good, the only pick I could have at this drone is that there is no sound on the videos and the lack of a gimble but this is expected from this price range it would be unrealistic to expect all of this for the given price. Overall, I really am pleased with my purchase and hopefully i have many more unproblematic flight hours!
I’m a bit of a beginner to drones, though this was the 3rd one I have tried (and the best of the 3 so far).
Easy to use, the controller holds your phone much better than any other that I have tried, and folds away really easily.
RTH works well too. I had a lot of fun with this for the short time I owned it and the Potensic seem to want to be challenging DJI for top dog position, so regularly release firmware updates for their products.
The carry case was also well made and roomy, with plenty of room for cards along with comfortably fitting the full kit in.
My only criticism (and its not a major one) is that the photograph quality, (although excellent for personal use with decently saturated colours and quite sharp too) was not quite as high as I need for my work.
Overall I was reluctant to return this drone as I felt it was a quality piece of kit, which missed out on being my favourite thing by a whisker.
As a near novice at drone flying this is a great machine to learn on, if you aren’t sure of what to do next you can just release the controls and it will hover where it is which give you a chance to readjust before continuing.
As you can see from the photos they are good quality, which is the reason I wanted a drone to be able get photos from a different aspect and this does just that.
While videoing the fact that this is a single axis camera does show up, of course as soon as I bought this I found out that Potensic have now brought out a 3 axis gimbel version.
After buying this drone I found that the camera was fogging up even when it was left outside to condition, but Potensic very quickly remedy this by replacing it, so I can safely say that they will give good after sales service.
I was skeptical when purchasing this drone that it wouldn’t live up to expectations, but I am very pleased with just how good it is. It’s also robust, I crashed very hard after putting it in attitude mode (I’d advise against this unless you are a very competent drone pilot as this mode is fast), and after changing a couple of the propellers (it comes with spare propellers), the drone fly’s perfect still. Only downside so far is, I tried to fly it at sunset to catch a video of the sun setting, but it keeps coming up with a warning saying not enough ambient light, and won’t let me take off. Now I’m sure there is away around this as I’ve seen videos of people flying it at night, so I just need to figure it out. But I would say anyone who is looking for a fantastic drone that fly’s very far and brilliantly, get this drone.
Just bought one.Havent flown yet.But very impressed with the controller and app. Will review again after use.I would suggest anyone buying one should get the combo.Didnt bother me too much as its a second drone to practice. But the box couldn’t be any more basic with the cheaper one.Would have been 5 stars for the quality equipment. But the box is horrible!
The Potensic Atom Se is simply brilliant. I have used it today for the first time, and being a
novice, I made sure to understand the basics of the drone, i.e., forward travel, height,
turning on its axis, side ways travel and reverse. It performed all these functions superbly. It
will take some time to get fully acquainted with the full abilities of the drone and the
confidence to allow the drone to travel anywhere close to the maximum range from the
remote.
The drone is supplied with two batteries, each capable of flying the drone for 30 minutes.
The carry bag is perfect for storing and carrying the drone and remote with all the ancillaries
safely to the location chosen for flying the drone. The camera takes superb 12Mp aerial photographs and also video in 4K. There is a built in Optical Stability to ensure there is no camera/video shake, this works very well. Potensic have decided to call this ‘shake vanish technology’.
The remote control allows the user to tilt the camera from looking straight ahead to looking 90 degrees down simply by scrolling the knob on the left-hand side front. There are automatic functions available to use, one of these being the Return to Home function, this works as very well as you would expect, it will
fly the drone back to the spot it left and also land safely. There are also a Follow Me function
and a Circle Function which all work exceptionally well as intended. More functions are available but I have not yet had time to try these out.
I had no issue setting up this drone. Everything paired first time. You have to install the app and use your phone as part of the controller. It comes with lightning, micro USB and USB type C cables so your bases are all covered. I used an Android phone and everything worked perfectly.
Although the manual gives good instructions to operate the drone, I found here are many
excellent tutorials available on YouTube for fellow novices like myself and I highly
recommend watching one or two just to get the basics right. Once you have downloaded
the software from Potensic to operate the drone, there are instructions on how to get
started on the app.
I have tried a variety of drones before I bought this one. This is the best:
You don’t need to connect to Wi-Fi. Others had to sync with your phone and frequently drop the signal.
Easy to set up. You connect your phone to the remote controller, then place your phone in between the Xbox style controller.
You turn on the drone then wait for the gps to connect. Then you’re off!
Buy a suitable sd card then download any pictures or photos.
It goes a long way and very high up. Just be careful as you get easily disorientated as humans don’t usually see from a Birds Eye view. But, don’t worry it will fly back to the starting point whenever you want.
It’s small and easily charged up. Maybe buy a man bag or similar to store it in.
30 mins flight time is enough. You don’t need more unless you are doing it as a professional.
All videos can be edited on your phone.
This is my fifth drone and by far the best. All the others were either too cheap and difficult to control or were difficult to set up.
Great product! Enjoy!
Have used drones for over a year (not my own). decided to buy my own. This unit had a good price, kit contents and good feedback. I was impressed with the drone and remote and app. The app carried out a firmware update on first boot up. it was tested in the garden to get used to the controls (which were smooth and responsive). the unit was used for 15 mins, and seemed impressive for a small unit, noted the battery was dropping quiet quickly. due to the weather it was not taken out for a few days, but good footage from the memory card, I decided this time to test the follow me mode, again, as soon as the unit was turned on, the app carried out another firmware update, unit was then tested in a field, noted that firstly it did not sound right, the unit was pulsing, and not hovering, but doing a small circle about 9 foot in the air. this stopped after 2 minutes, so a calibration was carried out (as a precaution). a quick test was carried out, and seemed ok, with a bit of motor pulsing. Follow me mode was activated. for the first 4 minutes it seemed ok, no issues showing on the app, but I could hear that the drone was pulsing. at this point the drone just went out of control, and did not respond to the controls. the drone increased in tone, automatically went higher, then veered left and crashed. the unit was disconnected and taken home to check the damage. No footage was recored to the memory card when checked, and damage to the drone was evident, and the app wanted to carry out another firmware update (within 8 hours). so I can only conclude there was a firmware issue? going by no fault and working ok, to update and erratic, then another f/ware update. I will wait for a response from either party, but the unit has been returned for a full refund.
hopefully the outcome will be positive, as this initially turned out to be one of the best units and kits out there…. will update if any is needed.
I bought this in March ’23 after realising that the rules for sub 250g drones are quite relaxed, and I would have greater options for flying than with my old heavy Hubsan drone from 2018.
I was very pleased with the much greater functionality and ease of use for these new drones. Unlike the old Hubsan this has a 4K camera with a tilt function, allowing for much greater flexibility and quality recording. There are plenty of videos online with demonstrate the excellent video quality of the Atom.
Flight time is excellent, depending on wind conditions and type of flying I can easily get about 25 minutes flying time from a single battery.
Flying range is good, capable of several km, which also means that at shorter range there’s much better connectivity than my old Hubsan, I don’t have to panic if goes out of sight.
This drone doesn’t have collision avoidance, that keeps the weight and cost down, and some drones that do have that feature default to it off as it’s a power drain. In most cases when I fly, collision avoidance is not needed.
After sales service is excellent, with easily available spare parts. I recently lost the drone carelessly when it hit a tree, collision avoidance might have helped there, I couldn’t find the drone and loss of the drone means a 400 investment was lost (extra battery and multiway charger). Ruby at Potensic support was incredibly helpful and quick to help, arranging for a replacement drone only, not free but at a very reasonable price.
Firmware updates are reasonably frequent with improved or new functionality, but this is a very reliable and trusty drone, the firmware is great and nothing like a ‘beta’ releases that we have with some drones where features are promised several months down the line.
My only real issue is the lack of multi-axis gimbal, that’s not a massive deal, especially given the price, and some post processing of video can help, but really my preference would be multi-axis gimbal. Maybe in a future Potensic model?
After much deliberation and scrolling through reviews I decided to plunge into the wonderful world of droning with the Potensic Atom SE. Why?
I had a list of features that I wanted and all the others on my within my starter price bracket 300(ish) short list came close. The one feature that I wanted as follow me and the Atom was the one that had this particular feature. So therefore it ticketed all the boxes.
As I implied earlier this is my first proper drone (I had a punt at a budget special from a import site, suffice to say I know why they are so cheap) on removing it well packed box I was was impressed on how easy it was to prepare for its first test flight. After charging the handset, smart batteries and downloading the flight app I tentatively took my first steps. The Phone interface is easy to access and use. How simple was it to launch? A touch of a button and it took off and hoovered perfectly. The responsiveness cannot be faulted. After a couple of small manoeuvres I decided to pop in an SD card. I took it up 100ft straight up and filmed all the way. A little shuffle left and a little shuffle right and auto landed it. I immediately went about reviewing the raw footage and again I was impressed. Ok I’ve seen higher quality footage but this is perfect for me. From that moment I am hooked. I’m getting more confident every time I fly and granted I need to keep practicing before I use it on holiday in September but as it’s user friendly and fun to fly I’m not concerned one tiny bit.
A note on Potensic Customer Service.
I’ve used email, Facebook and (X), formally twitter, to make some accessory and advice requests and all 3 platforms have given great service. I had heard that this was the case and the reviews were right.
This is a great drone for a beginner and one that can be grown into as flying experience is gained and this model will give years of flying and video enjoyment. The only feature that would have been nice to have is obstacle avoidance but I believe that comes at a premium.
Highly recommended.
Right out of the bag this drone is absolutely amazing. I was super anxious to move to a more expensive drone after I flew cheaper camera drones. Setup is very simple as there are videos built into the potensic app which guide you through each step. The quality of the drone is superb and also the support network surrounding the drone is second to none. Camera quality both for photographs and videos are much better than I expected! I was expecting quite a rough video as the drone does not have gimbals, however the EIS works amazing and it’s great to see the brand potensic releasing new firmware often to improve each and every flight. I’ve not needed to, but you can upload a flight log to them if you had an issue in flight and they will review and make any changes necessary. I’m part of the potensic drone page on Facebook and there’s 100’s of others who have the Atom SE who really recommend the drone. 31 minutes flight time per battery is also very good!
Highly recommended the drone and I don’t know why I didn’t buy one sooner!
I have always been fascinated with getting a drone and being able to get great footage and video. On its first flight, I was amazed at how easy it is to fly using the app and all the features it can offer. The battery life is really good and comes with 2×31 minute batteries. So you get a good hour of flying (Depending on what features you use)
I have got some fantastic photos (as you can see) and footage of my recent flights. I live on the south coast so have some fantastic areas to shoot footage.

Fantastic little drone and I am loving it, It comes everywhere with me.
I reseached the internet and compared devices on youtube reviews before purchasing.
I wanted an easy to operate device, that wouldn’t break the bank.
The drone was delivered promptly. It came with a very useful shoulder bag, which is of good quality. Plus the 2nd battery and spares as advertised. I particularly liked the hand controller being rechargable.
I was impressed by the overall build quality of all the items in the kit.
My grand children and I are not disappointed and fly at every opportunity, and we are impressed with its capabilities.
I have found the device to be very stable in flight, and the battery lasts as expected. The GPS return home is an absolute must and works a treat.
I found the camera image quality to be excellent for a hobby device, and the ability to raise and lower the camera increases the enjoyment.
Before flying the drone, I would strongly recommend reading the instructions, and watching youtube reviews. This will give you a good start on the capabilities, and how to operate it safely.
I also registered with the CAA, which is very simple and straightforward.
I would recommend this item to anybody who wants to start droning, for both cost and capabilities.
I bought this drone to become a more proficient drone pilot, I have not been disappointed. First of all this drone is 149 grams so no flier I.D required however because it has a 4K camera you need a Operator I.D, 10 from CAA for 1 year. Sat the test and so have flier I.D. The Operator I.D has to be labelled on the Drone.
The Drone has two batteries which can fly for approx 31 mins each dependant on environmental factors like strong wind. It is a level 5 drone so capable of flying in winds upto 25MPH at 400 ft.
The Drone handles amazingly well and is very responsive, and takes amazing quality photos as seen with the 2 photos. Be mindful though if you are taking a photo and the Drone is side on to the wind your horizon angle will not be level as it fights in opposite direction of the wind to maintain position. This is easily sorted though quick flick on the throttle to level out the horizon and press camera button, one good photo.
It Comes with all the cables for charging. Overall excellent cost effective drone with lots of fun to be had. Thanks Amazon. And Protensic.
I am new to drone flying so I wanted a drone that would be as easy to fly as possible. My search brought me to the Potensic and its amazing versality and power, at an affordable price. The customer write-ups were very positive and, of course, it was sold through Amazon with the quality control and price guarantees they offer. So, I bought it. Delivery was swift – it arrived the following day.
Manual and video instructions are on line, and they were a little difficult to access at first, but Potensic Customer Support was great and sorted this out very quickly – a special ‘shout out’ to Ruby. It did not take me long to “get airborne” and discover how surprisingly easy it is to fly – even indoors. The aircraft is very stable and does not drift, so steering it through doorways was a simple process, although I do confess to getting confused over the in-flight steering, which caused the drone to collide with the wall and damage a couple of the propellers. That was clearly due to my inexperience and over-confidence (it is that good) and not due to problems with the drone itself. So my advice is, reign in your enthusiasm and make sure you read the manual and operating instructions thoroughly. As a first test flight just get used to the control sticks and remember that, depending on the aspect and position of the drone (ie if it is facing you), turning the stick left may actually be wrong, as I found out!
I have flown it outside and am hugely impressed by the quality of the real time images displayed and the straightforward process to record and view the flight subsequently.
Even though weighing under 250 gms, as a drone with a camera it is necessary to register with the CAA as a drone operator, which I did as soon as I received my aircraft. It is inexpensive. As each day passes, I am becoming more adept at flying my Potensic ATOM SE drone and I am hoping to take it with me to fly when I go abroad on holiday. If you plan to do the same, check the regulations applicable in your destination. Within Europe, they are EASA Regs (also available on the internet).
In summary, this is a super little drone, flies incredibly well, is easy to manoeuvre, has 31 minutes flight time per battery, has a very good onboard gimble mounted camera with high resolution recordable images (still and video), a return home feature and is sold at an affordable price. Last, but not least, it comes with a first rate customer support service. So, if you are looking for a compact and reliable drone, this could be the one for you. It was for me.
Honestly, this drone is amazing! Incredible value for money, and certainly a serious rival for DJI.
If you feel a bit ambivalent about committing to the purchase then I suggest watching a number of YouTube reviews, etc. as I did. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
I haven’t taken photos yet, but the video is so incredibly sharp!!! Even at 200 feet up I could still see the dandelions in the field below. Spotting people on a golf course which I reckon must have been about 200~300 metres away (when viewed on a PC screen). It’s actually a good idea, I found, to take a laptop with you to review the footage as soon as you can. It’s brilliant!
The drone is easy and fun to fly. The app is perfect (suggest a larger size phone though as there is a lot of info on the screen when flying). Very stable hover. Even with the control stick held down (for descend), the drone comes down and lands incredibly gently. Usually lands with a last second sideways shimmy – maybe ground effect?
Battery life is excellent. In video mode (flight speed setting), I got 29 minutes of flight time on one battery (and it comes with two). – and that was after a couple of updates.
Very very pleased 😉
