This is a third-party Switch Pro Controller equivalent. Its design appears to closely mimic a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

Whilst I do not actually own a Nintendo Switch, I was able to test this controller connecting via Bluetooth to a Windows based laptop. It was very easy to do this. All I did to setup the controller was to pair the controller in the Windows 10 Bluetooth settings and everything just worked seamlessly.

Everything I have found with this controller has been solid. It feels nice and holds well in hands. All the elements (analogue sticks, D-pad and buttons) function perfectly. I was actually a little surprised because often “third-party” controllers can sometimes lack quality. It is safe to say that this is not the case here whatsoever.

The battery has lasted well so far. My partner and I play casual games a few nights a week for a couple of hours each time. We have found generally that it is very much a case of not really having to worry much about the battery life.

While I myself am generally not too fussed about the look of controllers (I don’t look at it when I use it), the design is perhaps a bit too funky for my liking but we got used to it somewhat.

We have been using the controller wirelessly via Bluetooth. We have not noticed any input lag when using the controller, although we have not specifically measured this. G

There are turbo buttons and also some rumble motors within the controller, but I have not particularly tested these features extensively.

I don’t tend to get controllers that are 3rd-party or on the cheaper side, but I got the chance to try this out, so I thought I’d give it a go.

I was pleasantly surprised, to be honest. The controller feels quite nice to hold, it has triggers, which is something you don’t always get with Switch controllers. It also has some nice additional features like changing the vibration intensity, which is something I’ve not had on a controller before.

There are a few issues for me. The Turbo and Capture buttons are where I would naturally expect the Select and Start buttons to be, so I keep accidentally pressing them instead when I’m trying to pause a game. Also, while the A and B buttons feel quite nice to press, the X and Y buttons are a bit spongey and don’t feel all that great.

The analog sticks are fine, and the triggers don’t have much travel but will do the job for most games, I’m not sure I’d want to do a delicate racing game on them though.

For the price, I think this controller is a pretty decent purchase, especially for a 2nd controller if you have a guest round. It works on both Switch and PC, although the included lead isn’t long enough to play with, just charge, so you’ll want your own USB-C to USB-A lead to use this on a PC.

It has many good features but let’s start with the cons. It lags or drifts from time to time as it would be loosing connection with the console or there was some lagging in the conection. Not sure if this is the fault of the console or the controller but I have never experienced this with my joy-cons or other official controllers. This is the only bad thing and it doesn’t affect gaming too much as it happens only once an hour or two of playing.
Now the good things: it feels look really cool with blue sharks printed top. Blue colour is very vivid and I really like it. Buttons feels good under your finger and there is no problem with buttons sticking up or being a little bit loose. Joysticks works very well with fast reaction times and in most cases without any lagging or drifting ( except it does this short temporary lagging for whatever reason).
Battery holds a charge very well so you will have many hours of gaming without worry of running out of battery.
It is nice to have the different strengths of vibration, however I am not sure why aftermartek controllers have ‘turbo’ buttons? I know it might help in some games but it feels like it is a cheat button.
Also the R2 and L2 triggers are designed slightly differently. It is strange feeling at first but it is easy to get used to it especially that these buttons are curved more and your finger won’t slip off the trigger button so easily.

Overall it is worth the money as it costs half the price of pro controller but it isn’t too far behind and it be a good addition to you Switch console.

4.0 out of 5 stars It is not the best but...

This is a Nintendo-compatible controller with a neat-looking front design, or ‘skin’. The controller has all the usual control features and is attractive to look at and hold. Overall, there is a lot to like about this device. It has dual motors for a good level of haptic feedback and also a turbo button, a feature not present on the standard Switch controllers.

I really like the following features:
    * The case has a matte finish on the front, which reduces the number of finger prints. It’s a minor point, but it serves to maintain the attractiveness of the device.
    * The connection lights are nice and bright.
    * The underside is textured for anti-slip, so you won’t lose control of your controller. It is nevertheless quite comfortable to hold in the hand. The joysticks are also textured on the sides, which is a nice touch. You might get away with not needing extra joystick caps with this one.
    * The joysticks are some of the first that I have found that are similar in feel to the originals. This makes it easier to switch from one controller to another.
    * The lower rear buttons have a trigger-style mechanism, again for extra grip.
    * Pairing was really easy when holding down the home button.

The following I didn’t like so much:
    * The button layout is not the same as a standard Nintendo controller layout, with the home button, screenshot button, and turbo button swapped. This can cause some confusion in the heat of the moment while playing a game. These are not the primary controls, but they are a nuisance nonetheless.
    * Back bumper labels are incorrect. This is not really a big point, just worth noticing.
    * I would have liked a little bit of a softer edge where the case sides meet. This is quite a sharp and defined edge. It’s just a comment from someone who has seen a lot of injection moulding, and it’s a minor point.

Altogether, this is a nice controller. The only problem of significance is the button rearrangement, and you could get used to the new layout quite quickly. Easy to recommend.

This is a review of the PowerLead Switch Controller – Wireless Pro Controller for Switch!

Even though this says it’s just for the Nintendo Switch, it also works on my PC. Though it has dedicated buttons for the Switch, so it’s ideally used for this.

    Things I like:

The design is great, at first glance, it looks like Mario and Luigi, but it isn’t, it’s very similar in design, and you can tell what it is, but it’s not what I thought, still a really great striking design though.
The battery life of the controller is great, we played some Mario Kart for a few hours yesterday and today, and the controller is still going strong, it’s probably got a couple of hours of life left in it as well!
It has dedicated buttons useful for the Nintendo Switch, such as a screenshot and a home button, it just makes it easier to share those great moments and to switch games etc., with ease.
It has a Turbo button! This basically allows you to press a button over and over again without actually having to the multiple presses yourself, it’s great!
It has a nice smooth finish, but as it has been covered in a vinyl/decal in terms of the design, it will start to peel and come away eventually.
The buttons are nice and ‘clicky’ so there’s plenty of feedback, and they feel like actual buttons, none of this haptic feedback nonsense.

    Things I don’t like:

I do think these are a little overpriced if I’m honest, but that’s really the only thing that lets it down.

    The bottom line:

Great little controller available in a few different designs. The turbo button is great if you’re lazy like me, and this is a decent quality controller that’ll last anywhere from 5-6 hours on a full charge. It’s a great choice if you want something simple that easily connects to both your Switch and your PC!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little controller with lots of features and dedicated buttons!

The controller works really well. It’s easy to connect to the switch, it works both through the usb cable and wirelessly. We love the fact it lights up and you get an extra fascia too. It is well built and the vibration is strong.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, good value for money and works well.

This controller is really good for its price, there is no need to buy expensive alternatives. I bought this because it offers true wireless connectivity without the need for plugging in an extra USB dongle. Really happy with the purchase!

Sons friend had a switch controller so my son wanted one too, had a look and thought this looked good. Two changeable faces with the controller, lights up in different colours and is really funky! Now is his go to controller!

Bought this controller looking for a good new Bluetooth controller for my Steamdeck, seen that this had rumble AND Gyro? Was on the fence but got it and oh my was I surprised! This thing is a beauty! The Gyro and rumble and excellent works extremely well in every game I’ve used it’s with on my Steamdeck and Switch. The swappable faceplates and LEDs you can change colours of is just amazing. Honestly one of the best controllers I’ve used. Will be buying more ASAP. 10/10

Wow first the PowerLead controller looks great and feels solid to hold. It comes with a second skin so you can change the look whilst playing. Setting it up was easy using the instructions from thr product info on Amazon. It did come with instructions but the writing was very small (prob my poor eye sight) My daughter was very pleased with the controller enhancing her game play. would highly recommend

We all know that the controllers that come with the Nintendo switch are rubbish. This controller is perfect for all games. It lights up, has the rumble feature and has replaceable faceplates. The controller is comfortable to hold. It also has settings to enable the buttons to go turbo, so if there is a game that requires the buttons to be bashed just click a button on the back of the controller and the button you wish to be turbo’d and it’s done. Easy to use. No issues with setting up and charges pretty fast. The battery lasts a long time too. Can be used wired or wireless so no delays with gameplay.

My son bought this with his own money as a previous wired controller kept glitching. This one (although i was apprehensive with it being wireless) has not had a single issue and my son doesn’t need to sit so close to the screen, no glotching and it has a good range and so far it’s been 2 weeks and he’s not had to charge it again!
Who would’ve thought wireless outwitted wired!

I give this product 5 stars because it is so versatile, it connects to MacBook Pro’s and does as it says as well as it connects to mobile with no issue. Gaming is a charm with this controller and has certainly levelled up the whole gaming experience. It is comfortable too and the buttons are exactly as I am used to with controllers I have used. If you are in the market for something like this then look no further.

I really like this controller – good battery life, great features, solidly built, ergonomic and comfortable to hold, and very reasonably priced – so I bought another one! – there really is no greater stamp of approval than that. Also because this pad comes with a changeable front plate, if you buy two like I did you can still make sure that both controllers look different, so that both players don’t get their controllers confused when they put them down.

5.0 out of 5 stars So good, I bought another one!
