I really think I’m going to like this Air Tag Holder! It’s made well.. might look like overkill but I don’t think so after 3 air tags slipped out of other holders and were lost..I try to find them but it’s really possible.. 1 got ran over.. another one was stepped on I think.. but it shouldn’t happen any more!!
I did not like the fact that I have to open the case to put the air tag inside and then use the screw driver (that is provided) to close it up again. I am not planning on putting my air tag on the outside of my case so a cover that snapped together would of been sufficient for my needs.
They are just as shown. They are super sturdy, don’t show that they cover an air tag, have about a million ways to attach (kidding, 4 ways anyhow) and everything is included. The screwdriver is there and a bag of screws that are extras as all the tags come with the screws in them. Honestly, I made a really good decision purchasing these.
PROS
-solid, I’m confident these can protect an AirTag quite nicely
-incorporates a silicone o-ring, I’m confident that these are as waterproof as advertised
-choice of lanyard or clip (held in place with 3M double-sided tape)
-clip very solid
-does _not_ have a transparent window that shows the apple logo (I’d like to not advertise the use of an AirTag). So many other AirTag holders have a window.
-screws go into brass receiver, they aren’t going into plastic. Excellent design choice.
CONS
-a bit of a faff to open, so choose these if you want to semi-permanently keep your airtags inside (but at least a tiny hex key tool is included)
-carabiner not of very good quality, I wouldn’t trust it to hold this case on e.g. luggage that will be used for transport
NOTES
-I really like these, even my “cons” are absolutely minor. Well thought out and designed, a rare 5* from me.
MY STAR RATINGS:
1* substandard, mostly cons
2** barely acceptable, cons outweigh the pros
3*** meets the basic requirements, cons balance the pros
4**** good product, pros outweigh the cons
5***** exceptional, all (or almost all) pros
I’m delighted with these little beauties! I was looking for something that I could use to attach an airtag to a wheelchair for flights abroad. I wanted it to be solid with no danger of losing the airtag and this fits the bill perfectly.
I’ll list the positives below:
Very sturdy – made with tough plastic that is advertised to be able to withstand a car driving over it – i beleive that, they are SOLID.
Well put together – you need to open the holder with screws – the screws aren’t driven into plastic that would quickly fail, they are screwed into a brass machine nut type thing(not sure what it’s called). The screwdriver is provided and it’s a hex so you aren’t going to damage the screw head.
Waterproof – I beleive it is but haven’t tested. Upon openeing the silicon ring on the inside is visible and so it should be waterproof. The silicon ring is white so should be obvious if damaged.
The mounting options are all good – the string for mounting on a bag is strong, the metal ring is good quality and the slide in mount comes with good adhesive. I’d be wary about the slide in mount unless mounting vertically as I’m not convinced it would be that reliable otherwise and with vibration or movement could wriggle out.
I intend use a combination of the slide in mount and a small ziptie to attach it to the wheelchair and then it will be going nowhere.
Excellent product, happy to recommend!
These are very nicely engineered Air Tag cases, and a well thought out product. The cases themselves are definitely well made and clearly very robust. They are supplied with a self-adhesive holder. There is also a short loop strap, and the allen key required to open the cases. My only comment would be that you need to be very careful not to lose the tiny allen bolts that hold the cases together. Assembly/disassembly is a job for a table top, not a sofa or carpet.
However, I saw the ‘IP8X ingress protection’ and ‘indestructible’ claims as a bit of a challenge. Firstly, I tied the tags to a weight (they float otherwise) and submerged them in a hot tub for an hour, at a depth of around half a metre. Then I removed them, and placed them in cold water for a further ten minutes. The picture shows the result: the interiors are completely bone dry. Finally, I applied my full 100Kg weight to one through my heel on a hard surface – to absolutely no effect. So for most practical purposes, I have to agree with the claims they are properly waterproof and near indestructible.
Great product which I have no hesitation in recommending.
The AirTag case with key ring is designed to protect and conceal the AirTag, making it ideal for attaching to keys, bags, and anything else you regularly carry around. It is made from high-quality materials and is IPX8 waterproof, providing full protection from water and dust. The case also features an opaque design, so it won’t draw any attention to your AirTag.
When it comes to ensuring the security of your Apple AirTag, especially when placing it inside luggage like a suitcase or backpack, this protective case is a game-changer. Initially, without the case, I found the AirTag would move around inside the bag, requiring some rummaging to locate it. Moreover, there’s always the lingering concern about potential damage from heavy items inside the bag.
Enter this protective case, which addresses these concerns head-on. Its durable construction is immediately noticeable. Despite being plastic, the quality feels robust, suggesting high engineering standards. The incorporation of stainless steel screws elevates its security feature. The choice of a hexagonal screw, which isn’t common, adds a layer of protection against tampering. The included screwdriver for these unique screws is a thoughtful touch, ensuring users have the necessary tool while keeping it less accessible to others.
Concealing the AirTag inside this case offers an additional layer of security; its contents remain a mystery to the untrained eye. Versatility is another standout feature. Whether you choose to adhere it to a surface or use it as a key ring, the design thoughtfully caters to various applications. I opted for the yellow case, matching the interior of my yellow suitcase, which as you can deduce from the photo, fits the AirTag perfectly. Notably, the protective plastic casing doesn’t seem to interfere with the AirTag’s reception.
In conclusion, if you’re contemplating a protective case for your Apple AirTag, this is a worthwhile investment. The design, functionality, and quality are top-notch, ensuring your AirTag remains safe and easily locatable.
These AirTag holders are a little different, like others in this class there is some assemble required as there is a waterproof rating to protect but that’s ok as everything you need is provided. Even the tools.
I love the fact that this also comes with holders for the holders meaning that I can use one in the car and stick it on a flat surface. That was important to me as I wanted a way to track my car in case it ever got stolen, and now I have it.
These holders are really easy to put together. Super sturdy and look great. The AirTag itself fits perfectly inside with no rattle, and works just great.
I would highly recommend.
These AirTag holders are made from a tough sturdy plastic, they are square shaped, fairly bulky but feel good quality.
They come in a pack of 4 and include a selection of accessories: a short strap, a round karabiner keyring and flat mounting brackets. You are also provided with a little hex key screwdriver and some spare screws.
The AirTag fits securely in the holder and is kept watertight by the screws and seal.
I personally think it’s a bit big for a bunch of keys but it’ll be good for use on outdoor sports equipment or larger bags/cases.
The price reflects the quality.
A frustration of air travel is losing your luggage. As a regular air traveller, I wanted to keep track of my belongings, so I bought a tracker. To keep it safe and undamaged, I got this air tag cover. It’s made of hard PC material and should do the job nicely. It was easy to install. Using the mini screwdriver provided, I removed the four screws from the back cover, inserted the air tag, and replaced and tightened the screws. Plus, you get spare screws in case you lose one. You can attach the item to be tracked with the hook and nylon loop at the top, or use the bracket with an adhesive tab. The device appears sturdy and will bring me peace of mind, so I am one happy camper. It can be utilised on various objects, not only on luggage.
The box come with 2 x airtag holders, 2 short lanyard/clasps and 2 x brackets with a 3M sticky tab at the back. These brackets will be great to affix to say the inside wall of a hardshell suitcase or for placing ‘within’ an item that you wish to protect in case of theft – like a trailer or an electric bike.
The main airtag holder is made of hard plastic, theres no soft silicon anywhere on this product. Its designed to be rugged! You need to unscrew the 4 tiny screws on the back of the holder to open it and then to insert the AirTag inside. Then reinsert the screws. Easy. Plus you get the mini screwdriver included and as a nice tough a small bag of spare screws because I am sure we will al lose one or two to these tiny things over time.
A great product. Recommended
This set of four airtag cases comes with all the ways you will need to mount/attach/stick to anything. They come with brackets with a sticker back, lanyards and metal rings.
The quality of the plastic is top-notch, all the parts are of good quality, even the screw driver include is nice to hold.
Each tag case comes with four small hex screws installed plus a bag of spare screws in case you lost them. I like the hex screw which makes it more secure and harder to remove the airtag and temper/swop with it.
The case comes with rubber seal in the joint, IPX8 rating give me peace of mind even dipping this in water.
Overall, I was amazed by the high quality of this product. If you want a black airtag case then this is the one to go for.
Used one of these to stash in my camping trailer at the back – and works great. Gives me piece of mind. Can also be hung or put on a keyring.
The sticker stuck well, brilliant.
Definitely recommend
Just received this today. I am really happy with the product, seems very durable and they did a nice job including attache=ments and extras of the screws, which I needed right away as I already lost one!
These are solid so will take most knocks and bumps – perfect for keys, dogs, backpacks, water/sports enthusiasts. What I really like about this set and the reason why I ordered these is the brackets – this gives the option to temporarily attach it to an object, then easily remove the unit to be with you – I’ll be using this in my suitcase, then removing the AirTag to place on my backpack when I arrive at my destination. Previously, I was using a stick on capsule, fixed in place with a 3M pad.
Full marks for this product and thoroughly recommended.
