Great product, very reliable, the airline lost our luggage and we were able to track it down with this device inside and help them locate it when they were clueless themselves.
Bought this to put in luggage when I go abroad. But in the meantime I have it in my car. Its working faultlessly at the moment. Shows where my car is parked and I’m able to go back and confirm where the car has been days later. It showed the route that I drove on a 25 mile journey with spot times I was at different locations.
Well pleased, having had it a few weeks now.
So easy and simple to track anything! Especially when you have someone little who likes to hide your house keys no matter high out of reach you put them, i cannot rate them high enough! Have since purchased 3 more for teenage sons keys and my car keys!
I had no idea I’d use this so much. Since getting the tag I had no more worries about my belongings being near me. I have used mostly for my suitcases when traveling as well as my bike and it doesn’t fail, very good at showing where your items are. I use it with my samsung mobile so it’s flawless. Can’t see myself not using it moving forward
I bought this to tag my dog as he often runs off. It’s not really best suited for this purpose though as once out of range you can’t track it unless someone with a Samsung phone is near by and it sends a ping. Probably not likely in the woods though. Hopefully later versions will improve things.
I used this on my recent travels. Landed in airport, checked my tag hoping it was not working as my bag had been left on the runway of departure airport. It was working just fine. Helped airline to identify bag so it was with me 24 hours later. I could track it the whole time knowing it was on its way was a great relief.
I purchased this for going away, so I could leave it in my suitcase, and if my luggage was ever missing, it would be possible to locate and tell the airport.
Really easy to set up and pair with my Samsung account.
Good battery life (CR2032)
Ultra wide band support, if your phone also has support
Uses other Samsung galaxy phones around the world to report back it’s location
Loud speaker considering
Super easy to track down
Only works on Samsung phones
I upgraded my Samsung S21+ to a Google Pixel 8, and only found out afterwards you can only track these with Samsung devices.
I’ve got a couple of these, one on my keys and another hidden in my car. They are pretty reliable and accurate to a reasonable level, although they are reliant on a Samsung phone being in close proximity to track the location. It would be great if they did a fully waterproof pet version as this only appears to be water resistant.
Initially picked up several of these tags for luggage for a long-haul flight that involved a connection, while Delta are great at letting you know that you’re luggage is on the plane, I like to be reassured that my luggage is with me at my destinations. These worked a charm.
When i’m not on holiday, I like to attach one of these to my work-badge as the loop in the tag is perfect to attaching to a lanyard and my badge is essential for my work as i have no access without it. i also attach the other to my work bag which contains my tablet etc. Again, it works a charm.
The only downside is, that when your’re items are at home and you’tr out and about with your phone, you will get a notification that your smart-tags aren’t near you. It can be annoying, but it’s the devices doing their jobs.
**Only get these items if you have a Samsung Phone that supports it, and make sure to DOWNLOAD and UPDATE your SMART-THINGS application**
Purchased my dog one of these, due to family members dog getting and it costing 80 to get back from wardens. Cheaper and to be fair you never know one day it could be my dog missing. Definitely value for money, works well and he’s happy Nd safer.
I live in a small coastal town so didn’t expect it to connect as much as it did, I take my dogs on regular beach walks, and after losing my 9 month old cocker spaniel puppy for 24 hours on the beach (lead slipped from my grasp) I thought I had better buy both my spaniels a tracking something, and as they love the sea and sea puddles we needed something waterproof, not only is this waterproof, we also bought a case for them to attach to our dog collars. I couldn’t be happier.
After getting a bit fed up with the Tile trackers I had, I decided to try Samsung Smart Tags. The interface on my phone is pretty straightforward and it didn’t take too long to get used to it. The technology works well and I can find my phone by pressing the button on the tag, or find the tag by using my mobile phone. However, the most impressive thing for me is that it went through a long 30c wash without breaking. In fact, this happened twice (by accident). It is rated as “water resistant” but only really meant to be splash-proof, so I was impressed that it survived being submerged in warm soapy water a couple of times.
I already have a 1st generation smart tag which works well enough but is a little bulky. The SmartTag2 is a better shape, sleeker and feels more solid. It was easier to add to my key ring too. Haven’t tested it the UWB technology yet but it should make it even easier to find if I lose my keys! It was also very easy to connect to Smart things on my Samsung Phone. Pull the battery isolation tape, and press the button and it was done. Very slick! Very pleased with the purchase.
I was wondering if this could possibly work, since it has no GPS. But it does! It needs people nearby who have a Samsung phone then kind of ‘piggybacks’ off them to send a signal back to where you are. So I put it in my suitcase and it can tell me where it is, even many miles away. However it won’t find anything in a remote area I guess
got this on sale . great price and peice of mind for I have lost keys before .. this is well worth the price and easy to use and trace via samsung smart phone
. also allows you to press and your phone will sound so works both ways .
Purchased on a deal for 18 and it’s well worth the money. After completing the very simple setup process, this updates it’s location via nearby Samsung devices that are connected to the internet. The new location is then reported via the SmartThings app and can even be announced vocally by your phone once found. So far it has worked flawlessly.
The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 Bluetooth Tracker is a versatile and practical device designed to help you keep track of your belongings. I bought this to track my suitcases while away on holiday. You could also use them to track your keys or pop one in the car.
Pros:
Enhanced Tracking Features:
The SmartTag2 comes with advanced tracking features, including the Compass View AR, which provides a visual guide to help locate lost items. This augmented reality feature is particularly useful when trying to find items in close proximity.
Find Lost Mode:
The Find Lost Mode is an excellent addition, allowing users to mark an item as lost. This activates a notification system that alerts you when the item is detected by any Galaxy device within the network, increasing the chances of recovering your lost belongings.
Battery Life:
The device boasts an impressive battery life, lasting up to a year with typical usage. This longevity reduces the hassle of frequent battery replacements, making it more reliable for long-term use.
Compact and Durable Design:
The SmartTag2 is small and lightweight, making it easy to attach to a variety of items such as keys, bags, or even pet collars. Its durable build ensures it can withstand daily wear and tear.
Integration with Samsung Ecosystem:
The SmartTag2 integrates seamlessly with the Samsung SmartThings app, allowing for easy management and tracking of multiple tags. It also works well with other Samsung devices, enhancing the overall user experience for those within the Samsung ecosystem.
Cons:
Limited Compatibility:
While the SmartTag2 works exceptionally well within the Samsung ecosystem, its functionality is limited when paired with non-Samsung devices. This could be a drawback for users who do not exclusively use Samsung products.
Range Limitations:
The Bluetooth range, while adequate for most use cases, can sometimes be restrictive in larger spaces or if there are multiple obstacles between the tracker and the user. This limitation can affect the effectiveness of the tracker in certain scenarios.
Dependence on Samsung Network:
The Find Lost Mode relies on other Galaxy devices to detect and report the location of the lost item. This dependency means that in areas with fewer Samsung users, the effectiveness of this feature could be diminished.
Price Point:
Priced at a premium compared to some other Bluetooth trackers on the market, the SmartTag2 might not be the most budget-friendly option. Potential buyers need to weigh the advanced features against the cost to determine if it offers good value for money.
Conclusion:
The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 Bluetooth Tracker is a robust and feature-rich device, particularly beneficial for users already invested in the Samsung ecosystem. Its advanced tracking features, impressive battery life, and durable design make it a reliable choice for keeping track of personal belongings. However, its higher price point and limited compatibility with non-Samsung devices might be a consideration for some users. Overall, it stands out as a strong contender in the Bluetooth tracker market, offering several innovative features that set it apart from its competitors.
I hope you found this review helpful and thank you for taking the time to read it.
I had several TILES and now im slowing changing all of mine for the galaxy Tag 2. They use ultra wideband technology so its more accurate. What I really like about these is you can use a compess to see if you’re getting closer and if youre still struggling to find it them without hearing the ringtone or direction, you can use your camera and it will point you in the direction (photos to follow).
Battery life is pretty dfecent so far.
Im pretty forgetful with my keys at work and at home. These have helped me out alot. Its paid for its self.
I have a a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. I cant comment on other phones uses, but it works really well with i
This is fairly reliable. You can track your car or bag etc easily. It does bounce of other phones so I noticed sometimes it won’t update location at night (no phones passing through), but then it will later in the morning. It has long battery life and does make a noise when u don’t want it to but does ring loud enough to find it when u do want to find it. Great buy, o recommend i
– very accurate GPS
– connects to samsung phone very easily
– battery has lasted a while now and still working
– like that it works both ways, find tag or find phone
– discreet and easy to use especially when tracking your luggage for example
– hole or hook makes it easy to attache to things
– loud sound beep
– Value for money is excellent. For approx 20 to track your belonging is a no brainer, even your ca
Was able to track my suitcase from Dublin to Japan with no issues once I had a WiFi connection. Gave great piece of mine that I actually had a suitcase getting off the plane!
Haven’t used it for tracking luggage yet, but left it at home and went on a visit, called it up from 15 miles away and it found my home location exactly!
Mighty impressed so far!!
Used it on my cat collar and also in kids’ school bags. You have to rely on some Samsung phone nearby to report location. Works decently when travelling on train/car with frequent locations reported. For the cat who usually wanders around the neighbourhood you get a report if some Samsung phone owner passes near the cat. If there is no location ping, I could walk around and use the nearby feature to locate it. If you are 3-4 m near the cat it tells you. Very handy compared to walking around the street shouting his name. I use a Samsung s23 ultra phone and the app works well.
After spending an afternoon trying everything to get this connected to my Samsung S23 I gave up and returned it for a refund. It was bleeping as it should during all of the setup and my phone could see it but just would not connect.
I took the gamble and ordered another one which connected instantly. Must have been an issue with the first one. Anyway, in fairness I’d have to say that I’m 100% happy with the replacement which has tracked me half way around the world through, three car rides, a train journey, and three flights.
Most of the negatives for this tracker you’ll notice are from people hoping to get live tracking of their pets. That’s not how this tag works and it relies on other devices nearby to give it’s location. Therefore it’s ideal in busier locations, especially airports etc. The history for mine actually showed the whole route from home in UK to hotel in Thailand. Absolutely 100% happy with it for the purpose intended. Had my case gone to another destination or left behind, I’d have known about it’s location.
Great overall, however, chews through batteries. Last one lasted months, but even with branded I struggle to get more than 45 days out of any of mine (bought 3). At this rate I’ll have shares in Duracell.
This is better than the original Samsung Smart tags as it can identify itself to anyone using NFC on their phone so they can contact you when it is found.
I don’t like the shape as it is difficult to attach to a pet collar without it dangling. It also only works with Samsung phones unlike the forthcoming Google version that works with all Android phones.
So easy to set up so easy to add to smart thing so easy to find when lost.
But one large draw back I added one to my car keys what a nightmare every time I moved it pushes the button and rang my phone when in my pockett not a good design at all button far to big as a result I dlattend the battery in one day
I like these a lot.
They are actually quite small and light. The hole makes it easy to clip one securely onto a keyring or similar.
The caveats are that they depend on Samsung:
The location functions depend on other Samsung phones being nearby. This might or might not work well depending on where you go – Samsung phones are very common in some parts of the world. Apple airtags aren’t that different really, they depend on Apple iPhones being around.
You will need a Samsung Galaxy phone to use these tags, and to make the most of them it has to be a phone with the UWB (Ultra-wideband) feature to precisely locate nearby tags . Not all Samsung galaxy phones have UWB. The expensive flagship phones definitely do though.
But if you do have such a Samsung galaxy UWB-equipped phone, and want a tracking tag, consider this a 5-star review.
