I wanted an everyday, but smart watch, not too expensive (under 500). Solar is ideal as no need to replace batteries, and high accuracy. With second hand, day & date. I hope this watch will last me 20+ years.
I bought this after a lot of research and it’s the best I found for around 200.
The 40mm size is good and the 10mm depth is slim. An automatic watch would be cooler but I don’t think an entry level automatic would keep great time and this one does.
The sapphire crystal is a massive plus and it’s far better than hardlex models for twice the price.
I wish it had lume but it doesn’t.
If the sarb033 had not been discontinued I’d have got that instead, as it was automatic, with lume and looks very similar and for not much more. That siad, I’m very glad I didn’t get a seiko 5 instead as I don’t want a;watch which says entry level that obviously, and a lot of them are hardlex.
The dial looks great in sunlight and this watch is very classy. If you’re considering it have a look to see if seiko brings out an automatic with the same specs, otherwise just buy it with confidence. There is a black dial edition If you look around. It doesn’t rank as high on Amazon bit it’s there aonewhere. Very subtle. Elegant even!
My new favorite watch, it has a beautiful shade of dark green with gold highlights looks amazing in the sunlight, at night its not so easy to read there no luminescent on the markers or the face of the dial. a very handsome and rugged daily watch.
Die Uhr wurde innerhalb der erwarteten Zeit aus UK originalverpackt und schadenfrei geliefert. Sie ist bisher sehr ganggenau. Ein elegantes, zeitloses Stck. Das Preis-Leistungsverhltnis stimmt hier, gute technische Qualitt, ansprechendes Design und vernnftiger Preis. Dazu noch “nachhaltig”, da keine Batterien bentigt werden. Meine Kollegen mit Schweizer Uhren am Arm werden ob dieses japanischen Produkts vielleicht die Nase rmpfen, aber dieser “Toyota” unter den Armbanduhren braucht sich vor Schweizer Produkten nicht verstecken (und sieht besser aus als die meisten echten Toyotas…). Diese Uhr ist Understatement.
Really great watch, arrived in perfect condition; exactly as expected.
Took a while to arrive. Bit of a mix up with the delivery date, but other than that, no problems, definitely recommend buying to anyone.
Compared to the other seiko I had in mind at twice the price with a hardlex screen this one won hands over, it looks great and has received many compliments in my work place, I would highly recommend this watch which is good value for money.
This Solar Powered replacement soon caught my eye and I looked no further.
It looks classy enough to be worn not only with a suit but also with casual dress.
Everything is co-ordinated so nicely without looking tacky or gaudy. I particularly like the large Emerald Green Face along with the Gold five minute markers and hands.
The Stainless Steel Case compliments the Face perfectly, along with the tasteful calf leather brown strap. I note some reviewers have changed the strap but I see no reason to do so. I much prefer the strap to the bracelet…. No more wrist hair pinching!
Solar Powered, although you’d never know it from looking at it. Apparently, the cells are hidden around the face behind the second markers….. All very clever IMHO!
The only VERY minor minus points are;
1. The second hand does not quite line up with every second marker throughout a minute but you’d have to be pretty finicky to moan about this on a watch in this price range.
2. The ‘SAT’ (Saturday) marker is emerald green in colour and the ‘SUN’ (Sunday) marker is red and both are difficult to read against thr black background. Quite why Seiko didin’t leave them white like the weekdays, I know not. Again, not a big issue as I soon learnt that, if it’s Green, it’s Saturday and Red, Sunday!
3. Non Luminous, so you cannot tell the time in the dark…… At All!
Conclusion: A Seiko Quality Solar Powererd Watch, with a Sapphire Crystal Glass Face for this price….. You can’t go wrong and as such, Highly Recommended!
