I planted some hostas in a section of my garden and soon discovered that they were being decimated by slugs. Initially I tried round plastic plant protectors which were supposed to keep slugs from the plants. These did not work as the slugs were obviously climbing over the side of the plastic. I then saw copper tape and decided to try this. I stuck it around the tops of the plastic so that any slugs will have to climb over it. So far this appears to be having an effect as the hostas are growing again. This tape is inexpensive and is definitely worth a try.
