My first speaker or headphone test is always ‘Blue Monday’ and with this speaker, it sounds awesome. I stood it on some cloth to dampen the bass and it’s amazing for the size and price. Very pleased with the sound and hopefully the battery life and reliability will be equally good. Recommended.
So impressed with soundcore! for the price this thing is amazing, incredible sound for such a little unit. I got some Soundcore noise cancelling headphones a while ago and was impressed with them so thought i’d give this a try. Highly recommended
Love this little speaker.
Very portable, used on my bike and for long walks.
The battery lasted all week on a camping holiday, the volume was probably only in 30% most of the time.
A single speaker is great around a campfire but I’m very tempted to get a second speaker for a stereo setup.
I have compared it with other small speakers and value for money, this wins.
Great sound from it and being able to tweek the balance through the app is a must have nowadays.
Overall sound and bass is far better than the Soundcore Mini 1, (which my daughter has). And you can opt to have the Bass Boost on or off. I’m not a huge fan of lots of bass, but on this small speaker it works well.
Only downside is that it doesn’t come with a protective case, nor can you buy a proper one from Anker/Soundcore. Managed to get a third party one on Amazon so not the end of the world.
Decent sound overall, but the bass out of the box is too high and sounds a bit artificial. You should really be able to plonk this down anywhere and forget about it, but the bass causes an irritating vibration noise on certain surfaces. Also, it can cause the speaker to gradually move and fall off whatever it’s placed on. Mine has fallen to the floor twice. It initially arrived with minor cosmetic damage, but that doesn’t matter now because it’s even more scuffed up. Yes, there’s an app for customising the sound, but I’m loathed to download another app just to do this. Otherwise it’s great for the price, but they could do with toning down the bass and improving the stability of the unit.
The sound is good. Not that amazing mind blowing level, but decent good.
The volume change was quite big so you couldn’t adjust it softly. In an Android phone, the battery percentages level was visible but not in an iPhone (only a battery sign).
I had to return the item because the sound was randomly/intermittently cut out. I searched on Google and it seemed that it’s quite common. I already put the speaker near the laptop, restarted the speaker, restarted the Bluetooth, paired again but the problem still came back.
Until I find better option than this with the same price range, I am still considering to buy a new one if it’s discounted because it can be paired with another speaker.
Connects really quickly to phone and tablet via Bluetooth. Didn’t need instructions as it was blatantly obvious what to do. On/off, Bluetooth and volume up and down buttons are on the front in a rubberised finish, perfect for wet hands say by a pool.
Sound is great. If there’s heavy base the speaker likes to join in the music by performing a dance off the edge of its perch – I have a clip on the strap so I can attach it to my bag or hook it for safety.
Did lots of research about good small speakers for travel and beach. Couldn’t have better for the price. I take it all over, use it to listen to podcasts in the garden and combine with iPad for better quality sound on casual viewing.
Critique: bouncing about on heavy base, but would rather have the potential for volume than not. Probably due to my phone I couldn’t get a vid at the beach whilst I was using the speaker via Bluetooth as speaker switched to camera connection?
So far so good. 2 months of seamless performance. Battery life is great. Don’t have to worry about constant recharging. Buy one, especially when it’s on offer!
I bought this because I wanted a compact speaker for travelling, but it could easily see this being used as an everyday speaker. For such a compact speaker it really does punch above its weight – I remember when I unboxed it and tested it out and I was seriously impressed. I was testing indoors, and at least in my house it was able to deliver very good sound in any room, including the kitchen which is a bit more echoey. So much so that I prefer this little speaker over my Sony SRS-XB32 (larger and considerably pricier) that is the current kitchen speaker.
Connecting up to charge using the USB-C cable was a doddle. I had no issues connecting the speaker over Bluetooth to my iPhone and PC. I also installed the SoundCore app on the iPhone and was able to play around with the EQ settings, although the default settings are in fact good and that’s how I left them. I think the trend for extra-bass speakers is a bit tedious and I just want to listen music/podcasts/radio with decent clarity and fidelity but without earth shattering bass that makes the neighbours four-doors down think there’s building work happening nearby. This speaker has enough bass for me; it has plenty of depth and doesn’t sound at all tinny – I’m sure it’s possible to add a bit more oomph via the EQ settings, if that’s your thing. Let’s be fair, it’s going to struggle outdoors, but many portable speakers do too.
The packaging was neat and compact – all packaging was card/paper, and if I recall correctly there was a one plastic wrapper around the speaker itself that was from a recyclable plastic.
I bought this for my nighttime baths and for shooting music videos in the rain. Wow, this tiny speaker has plenty of powerful bass and vocal clarity considering its tiny size. Obviously a larger speaker will most definitely outclass it with the size advantage, but for what this is, I’m seriously impressed.
I love this brand for their clarity and pure sound. I bought the original and hated it, yet this successor outshines it in every way with its awesomeness and improvements galore.
I buy different speakers for unique purposes and most of my portable ones are Soundcore ones. I’ve heard others, but for price vs quality you can’t beat Anker.
Not all updates are good though… I found the OG Anker Soundcore to deliver a way more authentic sound than ver 2 and 3 – I’m against drowning mids and highs in bass. All-in-all, Anker is a brand that I’ve grown to trust for quality over the years.
This Soundcore Mini 3 brings that pure sound back without drowning in bass, instead delivering an exceptional balance. A work of art if you ask me. Sound is subjective though and different ears hear things differently. It mostly come down to what you feel comfortable with – just like buying an interface and studio monitors, it depends on the sound you like.
The only negative I found is that the speaker faces upwards, but that’s why I have other Soundcore speakers – different purposes call for different speakers. I guess you can aim it while holding it on the move.. and that’s the purpose of this speaker. I’m curious about trying a multi-speaker arrangement one day.
This ranks as one of my most favourite and useful gadgets. I also have to say that the app is a really well made and easy to use.. don’t forget to update the firmware for this little capsule of joy.
