Charging your electric car couldn’t be easier:
- CONNECT TO POWER – Connect the charger to power by inserting the 3 pin plug into an electrical outlet (socket). Do not use an extension cable to power the charger.
- CHOOSE CURRENT –Press the CURRENT button on the control box to set the charging current. If you want to schedule charging, press the TIMER button. Press once to delay charging by 1 hour, twice for 2 hours and so on, up to a maximum of 12 hours. To cancel scheduling, press the TIMER button 13 times. NB. Some electric cars do not support delayed start functionality or require an app to operate it – please check with your car manufacturer.
- CONNECT TO CAR – Connect the charger to your car by inserting the Type 2 female connector into your car’s charging port. Make sure you press firmly to ensure the pins are fully connected. The digital control panel will automatically detect the charging status of the vehicle.
- CHARGING BEGINS – When charging begins, the LCD screen will display all charging data in real time. If you want to change the current during charging, simply unplug from the car, select the new charging current, and reconnect to the car.
- DURING CHARGING – The current, leakage current, and temperature are all monitored throughout the charging process. In the unlikely event of a fault, the control box cuts off the power supply and stops charging. The indicator light will turn to red and the screen will display the type of fault.
- AFTER CHARGING – When charging is over, the charger will automatically cut off the power supply and stop charging. Disconnect the 3 pin plug from the electrical outlet (socket). Disconnect the Type 2 female connector from your car’s charging inlet (you may need to unlock your car to release the plug).

Waited a little bit before reviewing this but. It’s been great so far, the delay timer is really handy for saving some dosh. Would have enjoyed a different colour lead as blacks a bit boring but overall super dupper at this point.
We purchased the 10-metre cable with delay-timer which is robust and feature complete.
The display is clear, informative and effortless to assimilate. The controls (current limit and delay timer) are also helpful and easy to use.
We searched high and low for a high-quality, specification-exceeding cable like this. This was the only product to meet our exacting standards. Unlike reviews of other cables, which were invariably mixed, in our experience this one never suffers from heating (of course be sure to uncoil, and in the UK only operate at the legal current limit of 10A rather than the cable’s maximum setting of 13A).
The product withstands a range of (very!) wet, hot and cold conditions. The tolerated bend radius is small (though a washing-machine U-bracket has been reassuring in guarding against sharp window edges).
TIP! Do not be put off by the so-far small scale of the provider. A small company in this case means: friendly, efficient, trustworthy and helpful service. They are in the right business; cables are manufactured overseas, but to their specification. There is ample compatibility with different makes of EV.
We purchased this cable in order to reduce our bill from rapid chargers. As with all home cables this means a slow charge – but with a low-energy tariff it will more than pay for itself within 2-3 months. A no-brainer indeed!
At 10m long I think it’s longer than most others, meaning you stand a better chance of being able to reach from socket to car.
It’s going to be ideal to keep in the boot of the car for topping up between “proper” charges and / or for emergencies. You can even set a timed start so it charges when electricity is cheaper overnight.
Brilliant bit of kit!
The providers charger had a much thinner wire between charger and three pin plug. This one had the same thickness of wire all along. Plug got quite hot with the supplied charger whilst this one did not heat up even when used at 13 amps. If there are problems the amperage could be decreased. I am a complete novice with EVs but the charge time was lower than the manufacturer indicated.
I would say that this was excellent value for the price paid.
As I said at the beginning this felt very sturdy compared with other chargers.
Some great features set this charger apart fom the rest. The highest quality, massively thick power lead that can withstand any weather and rough use carries the charging current from the charger to the EV socket on the vehicle. Everything is water proof, well built and made to a very high standard.
Operation is straight forward. It’s a well designed controller that has an easy to read digital display that shows the charging current, and any time set for the charge to switch off. I show in my video, a quick demo of the settings and how easy it is to see what’s happening to the battery .
The charger has lots of safety features, so important thee days as we keep hearing about charging issues with potential fires and overheating. This charger has safety monitoring and cutouts for RCD protection (earth fault) IP67 protection, overheat, overcurrent protection, short circuit, lightning and a self failure check, just to mention a few.
In addition this charger has a generous 10mn lead. The others I’ve used have just 8m, so this one does give you the extra length and as stated earlier it’s super strong well insulated charge lead. You’ll see this from the video and photos.
Yes, it is expensive, but when you think that is helps to alleviate charge point and range anxiety, it’s worth always having on board my EV, especially when I’m visiting friends or family without a proper EV charge socket. This 13A plug charger covers all my basis for peace of mind and I’m really pleased to have it.
