Ottimo prodotto, ottimo acquisto! Lo consiglio vivamente
No need to post pictures. It is what it is.
I purchased 3 of these for use upgrading my home network to 2.5 Gbe. One of them for my NAS (Synology DS720+), one of them for my Macbook Pro 14″ (original with the M1 pro chip) and one for my HP EliteDesk.
For the Mac, tested with both via directly connected and using my CalDigit dock. Worked fine on both connections. No driver needed.
For the Mac and the HP it was plug and play. I did have to go into the settings for the device on the HP and do a “Update Driver” as I was only getting 1Gbe. But the driver was automatically updated from a Microsoft driver to a Realtek driver (dated 2021??). After that was able to get 2.35 Gbe using iperf to test to my NAS.
For the NAS I did have to use the driver out on Github for the Synology NAS and this adapter.
They run very cool to the touch. Barely warm at all.
I would purchase these again.
I tried connecting to an iPad Pro 2022 version and performed an iperf test, both upload and download speeds were able to reach 2.4~2.5Gbe speeds.
Yes, it is supported on the iPad Pro device.
After a few days of testing, the USB does not drop any packets or disconnect. It works perfectly fine. As for the heat, it’s not excessively hot either.
It is recommended to buy this if this is your first 2.5Gbe usb ethernet. Worth it.
it works awesome, but first of all, the driver is a requirement for windows, it wont work as expected without. also make sure your ethernet cable is not ancient, or you wont get full speeds. send the seller a message and get the driver. it’s plug and play for my ipad pro with usb c , which is nice, i got full speeds. however, I noticed that on my old Dell (which was one of the first laptops to include USB C) the performance was inconsistent. probably cause of some dell issue due to it being old. I plugged it into a newer lenovo and it worked solid. because it works beautifully on my newer devices and my ipad, it’s not a device issue.
tl;dr – works great on USB C ipads. Your mileage may vary on windows laptops depending on their age, and you must get and install the driver for it to work as expected.
The USB C adapter is a versatile adapter that allows me to connect your USB-C devices to a wired Ethernet network. It is compatible with a wide range of devices, including Windows laptops and desktops, MacBooks, iPads, and iPhones. The adapter is also very portable and easy to use, making it a great choice for on-the-go use. It is 2.5 times faster than traditional 1Gbps Ethernet. This makes it ideal for streaming HD video, downloading large files, and gaming. Wired Ethernet connections are more reliable than wireless connections, so I can be sure that I will have a strong and stable internet connection. Wired Ethernet connections also have lower latency than wireless connections, which makes them ideal for gaming and other activities that require a fast response time.
I own different UGREEN products that I have been purchasing during the past few years, from chargers to ethernet cables, so I decided to order this adapter.
The adapter arrived in a small box that included the adapter and instructions on how to use it and the warranty. I tested this with a 2018 MacBook Pro. The adapter connects seamlessly to the USB-C port on the computer and is immediately recognized by the OS as a “USB 10/100/1G/2.5G LAN” port. My desk network is a 1Gb network with another computer connected. File transfers were reading at 100MBps while the writing was at about 70MBps. I need to also point that the adapter on my test did not overheat at all.
Overall, I would recommend this adapter for anyone that needs to connect a physical ethernet cable to the computer.
“Long Story Short”
It comes in branded box
Device itself is very slim and small
Full metal body makes it very sturdy
Absolute lightning speeds in data transfer and download, it can go as fast as your broadband can handle
It is great dongle to avoid slow WIFI and get fast download speed directly
Solid device for power users
Value for money 10 out of 10
I have had many UGREEN products in the past and they have always been good and reliable and this USB-C to Ethernet adapter is no different. The first thing you notice is the quality of the casing. Its metal like many others but has a bit of extra weight to it. It feels nice and solid and like it is built to last. The device is plug and play on Windows 10 and detects in device manager as a “Realtek Gaming USB 2.5GbE Family Controller”. Newer drivers can be downloaded direct from Realtek if required.
The device has performed well for me and worth and the connection has also been stable.
I already have a few uGreen products and have always been pleased with them. That was a key factor in deciding to try this ethernet adapter for my 2020 MacBook Pro.
I have a 900Mbps internet connection and I came to the conclusion long ago that while wifi is great a wired connection is almost always preferable. When I had my fibre to the premises installed a couple of years ago I was able to chose where I wanted the incoming box to be located. It is thus within reach of my router and computer.
I plugged this in to the computer popped in the Cat 8 ethernet cable and tested the speed. I was getting 870 Mbps which makes for blazing fast files transfer. So I am very happy with the performance.
It isn’t the cheapest adapter on the market at 27.99 (at the time of this review) but if performs really well and in my view is very good value for money.
While 10GbE has been around for 20 years find it funny now storage has reached speeds long surpassing it 2.5GbE is a bridge standard and this dongle does its job well to meet that standard.
The cable is hard booted, PVC insualton wont last long if abused.
Ugreen are one of the brands who, in my experience, really do deliver on their premium reputation. The packaging and item manufacturing quality are top notch and these absolutely compete with Apple and equivalent products.
Performance is great and close to the manufacturer’s claimed speed (hitting exactly 2.5gbps is, generally not realistic given other system bottlenecks). Installation is absolutely seamless and required no drivers on a macbook.
Overall, recommended!
This is a very beefy USB C to RJ45 ethernet adapter, no doubt because of its 2.5G rating compared to the usual 1G.
It maxes out my ethernet connection to the internet, and I could get it to push around 1.2g/bit per second when copying files from my local network — I can’t test it any further as I’m limited by the aging NVME storage from the PC I was copying from.
I’ll admit it’s pretty expensive compared to alternatives but with UGREEN you get what you pay for! As always, it looks and feels well made with a strong casing and nice cable.
Reached the peak of my internet performance with low latency and no issues so far. Installation is very straightforward and worked straight out of the box. Would highly recommend as an alternative to a PCIE Ethernet card which can be quite expensive and difficult to install.
Another excellent USB C adapter from UGreen. The quality is fantastic, and the design is very tasteful and minimalist.
The adapter is a plug and play affair and “just works”. It provides an excellent and reliable 2.5Gbps connection when tested on my Dell Precision laptop. This will have a permanent home in my travel backpack. Highly recommended!
Handy adapter for adding 2.5gb ethernet to your USB-C device. Came straight up on my M1 mac mini and Windows laptop.
Worth downloading the driver from the realtek website as the original driver Windows installed was a bit long in the tooth (dated 2016). The driver reports the chipset as “Realtek Gaming USB 2.5GbE”.
Lots faster than using wifi – copied a large file at 280 megabytes per second, often struggle to get a tenth of that on my Wifi 6 setup!
Only criticism is that it’s a bit chunkier and heavier than some of the alternatives – I’ve pictured it with the ‘Cable Matters’ equivalent, exact same realtek chip. In fairness to the Ugreen option it is rather more attractive and the cable matters unit is already scratched, despite only being a few weeks old.
I recently got this USB-C ethernet adapter for my MacBook Pro as there are some occasions where I still need to use an ethernet connection.
First and foremost, the speed and reliability of this Ethernet Adapter are outstanding. I’ve used a lot of UGREEN products and been delighted with the quality and performance and this one is no different.
The build quality of this adapter is remarkable. Its aluminium construction not only adds durability but also gives it a premium feel. The slim and compact design makes it highly portable, so I can easily carry it in my laptop bag without adding bulk.
This device just plugs in and works immediately with no faffing about, it’s just what you want!
If you’re in need of an ethernet adapter for your laptop, this is the one to go for!
Nice little adapter, really well made and smart looking. Strain relief is good and plugs into USB C with a satisfying click.
Worked straight out of the box after plugging into my laptop. These adapters are great if your laptop / netbook etc doesn’t come with a wired RJ45 port and to be fair most laptops these days do not in order to save space and make them thinner.
So if you have a lot of large files to transfer then these adapters are great as you can achieve must greater data transfer speeds than over a wireless connection.
I am unable to be able to vouch for the 2.5Gbps transfer speeds as my network only runs at 1Gbps but it works perfectly at this speed.
UGreen is a brand that can be trusted, I wouldn’t hesitate in purchasing their items.
Recommended.
Whilst there are probably a fair few use cases for this, I feel it’s mostly for a laptop with a slower Ethernet port.
This use a thunderbolt 3 USB-C port. That’s important and it’s not going to work as well in any USB-C port. A lot of modern laptops have this yet still don’t need a faster Ethernet port.
This makes it so you get 2.5G. A decent step up in speed if needed. It would also be fine if you Ethernet port is failing, which can happen.
It does as it claims and does it well
Superb quality USB-C to Ethernet adapter from UGREEN. Build quality is excellent and works straight away – plug and play. Good to know it is future-proof as able to operate at the highest speeds of 2.5Gbps.
I understand that the realtek chipset in this 2.5g adapter has good jumbo frame support upto 16k, and improves streaming. Perhaps this is why I am seeing an improvement in performance with online gaming, this was a problem before using my motherboards onboard Gbe LAN so I will stick with this for now as it works so much better I even thought I might have to change my monitor.
The adapter comes in a compact package. Aluminium wrapped frame and plastic inner core and USB-C cable. Seems pretty solid, should take a lot of stress. Definitely worth the price if performance is this good from the new chipset.
For once it arrived in an actual nice box (not just plain cardboard!)
Taking it out and it’s a small USB-C cable you plug in to give you a hard wire connection at 2.5gb – which obviously is only good if you’re entire network is running at that. However, it works perfectly fine also at 1gb as I tested both.
Plugging it in to a Windows PC and nothing appeared on the screen to say it found new hardware and no lights illuminated on the device until I plugged in a LAN cable. Hopping to Control Panel and it was showing there fine as a Realtek Gaming 2.5gb Lan card – and it just worked without issues or fuss. No problems were encountered while using it, including copying files back and forth across the LAN, so it does what it says – gives you a hard wired connection which is faster than Wi-Fi.
