1. Find a metal hole to install the automatic switch ( Some cars have holes, but some may need to drill a hole)
2. Hold the hood light kit in place with the adhesive and ties on the back
3. Connect the black wire to the bottom of auto switch. Connect the red wire to the positive pole of car battery

Most likely your switch is not connected to metal. If it’s on a metal frame make sure you’re in contact with metal not paint
