Pulled out screw, pushed file in and out about ten times, pushed in bung strip (takes a lot of force) rotated tool and pulled it back out, trimmed excess. I had everything ready and made sure hole always had something in it, tyre was down to 25 psi once finished. Pumped it up at garage, checked it a week later, it’s still the same, great product, tools are solid too
A really comprehensive and good quality kit for the money. My kit did not come with any instructions but this was not an issue for me as I own and have used a similar kit before, this kit will be going into my other half’s car in the spare wheel well along with a rechargeable tyre inflator. Not having a puncture to repair at this time I cannot review this kit being used in anger in real life, but going on my past experience it seems good enough to complete the intended task. Nice that they included some gloves in the kit as they were not present in my other kit. When you unpack this kit you will find it hard to believe that all the items will fit back into the supplied case, but they do. The only change I will make is to put the included sealing strips into a ziplock plastic bag, I don’t know if they go hard over time but this is what I did with my other kit just to be safe.
Modern cars have an unfortunate tendency to not include a spare tyre, which makes this sort of kit pretty invaluable; if nothing else, it’s a lot less messy than the inflating foam kits which are often the only available alternative!
The kit includes everything you need to manually fix a puncture- pliers, hand drill, glue, sealing rods and a knife – plsu some gloves to help keep your hands clean!
One thing that’s not included in an instruction manual – it’s not the most complex operation in the world, but it’s always nice to have something to sanity check against! So I’ve ended up putting a sticker on the case with a link to some instructions printed on it.
Either way, while I hope I never have to use it, it’s now resident in the back of my car!
It’s a good little kit to have in the boot of the car for just incase. Everything you need to plug a hole in your tyre to get you going, except air. It’s not something I would leave in permanently and would have it repaired professionally, but it is good as a “get you home” repair.
The amount of things you are getting in this along with the instructions – which are quite concise and easy even for someone with no expertise in this area to pick up – to me represents great value. Within are a pair of decent quality pliers which were used to take out a puncturing object, gloves which I did not personally wear during use but they are a nice touch, the other tools needed to insert the tire plug and the tire plugs themself of which you get 20 so I suspect would last you years and this kit would be perfect whether kept at home or in the back of your boot to deal with punctures on a temporary basis until such time as you can have the tire repaired professionally or replaced. It is what it is and at the offering represents great value and I cannot find any fault with any of the items within. If you are looking for a puncture repair kit then this is ideal. I imagine it would be fine for dealing with punctures on bicycle tires too as long as they are tubeless ones.
