Used with a new Dell laptop and PCMover software to transfer user profiles, files and applications from old laptop. Most new laptops sold today don’t include a LAN RJ-45 port so this device plugs into the USB port and works great. I used the wi-fi router as the hub between the two laptops.

The main reason I got this was for laptops. A lot of newer laptops do not have ethernet ports. I run a PC repair shop and this has come in really handy. Many times when you reinstall windows, there are no drivers for the Wi-Fi adapter. Well you can’t get drivers without internet. So, instead of using another machine to download the drivers, put them on a USB drive, then transfer them to the laptop, I just plug this in to the laptop and to an ethernet cable, and that’s it. I’m getting full speeds from my ISP using this. Works great, and it’s at a good price. The only thing I wish it had was a USB-C to USB-A adapter. Definitely recommend this product.

Used this to hookup my switch to ethernet so I could enjoy super smash bros online without as much lag. There is a major improvement with pretty much any online game and even updates are much faster with this little attachment.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWould not work until I unplugged the port in the cable company provided WiFi 6 router that was remembering another device and blocking the connection and rebooted the router.

Once the router cleared the device from memory the adapter lit up and started functioning perfectly.

I was skeptical about the Black insert (instead of Blue) but tested with my 1 Gbps internet yielded 811Mbps (USB 2.0’s max is 480Mbps)!
So, this product is as described with a good price and quick delivery to boot! Highly recommended. Thanks.

I recently got myself a new 32-inch LG monitor for my second desk at work. The office has wi-fi, but it can be touchy at times. So I wanted to be wired, but wanted to run that wire not through a dongle attached to my Macbook Pro, but through one attached to the USB hub and USB-A ports in my LG monitor (via USB-C). It effectively makes the monitor a sort of dock providing power, video, and a hub through one USB-C connection.

I’d tried this previously with a couple of other USB-A ethernet adaptors, including a couple made by bigger, more well-known brands. Nope. And nope. They’d either not be recognized at all, or would simply stop being recognized after a couple disconnect/reconnect cycles. Not this one. It works great every time.

As for speed, it seems as snappy as any other wired connection I’ve used at the office, transferring photo and video files with decent speed and ease. I’ve not measured the throughput, but it seems just as fast as when I was using a USB-C dongle tied right to the Macbook Pro.

All in all, this seems like a good value.

You need this if you are an IT tech, I have had to setup so many new Laptops that no longer come with Network adapters on wired networks, this is well made, nice aluminum case and works as advertised in a Gigabit network environment, get a few for your toolbox, and for end users this will work perfectly for connecting you to wired office networks.

This ethernet adapter is good to have if your computer does not have a spot for plugging in to receive a wired connection to the internet. It very easy to use and set up. Has a good wifi signal compared to others I have tried.
