Got this to replace the magnetic type that was stuck onto the dash or clipped on the vents as they kept coming away from the dash/vent and some in the family needed metal plates stuck to their cases etc – this eliminated all that fuss, you just drop your phone in and gently close the sides,I can lift in and out but if bumpy roads require a stronger grip you can grip it tight, the release button is dead center on the underside of the mount which opens up the jaws. The cd mount is nifty too as we all use CarPlay none of us have cd’s now and it’s a firm grip from a littlee we screw you turn a bit (doesn’t need much) it may not be the smallest slickest looking mount but it does its job well and wasn’t hard to install.

I am witting my review after couple of month of using it. I have magnetic version.
I was really unsure if it will keep securely my iPhone 13 Pro Max, as the phone is quite big and heavy.
This phone holder keeps phone secure enough. I would say very strong. I was impressed.
During last few years I had several car phone holders and this is the best one.
However, from technical point of view the design of how it fixed into CD slot is not great.
19 century to be honest. To fix it properly and secure in the slot you have to tighten the bolt until your CD slot literally cracks! Otherwise holder slips from the slot itself. Not great engineering and design.

My overall conclusion is, it is not the very best holder but it worth of money you pay.

stays in the cd slot. easy to tighten and adjust. simple to take phone out and put in. easy to change the angle the phone is facing so it can face you. doesnt shake around or get loose from any part. pretty great purchase

Bought this as an alternative to the ubiquitous air vent design, which except for a small minority simply do not provide a firm mounting. This CD design turned out to be ideal and if, like me, you have a centre mounted CD player this will work well for you. Once inserted into the player and the clamp mechanism is (easily) tightened, then you can angle the business end to give you your best view on the phone. Works like a dream and given (if as I suspect) very few people actually use a CD player, then why not make use of a largely redundant feature of the car?

Does what it says. God quality compared to the others. Reinforced. Has a bit of a shake, but that’s too be expected.
Downside is that the if you have the orientation upwards the sucure butterfly screw gets in the way of the display.

For my car the cd slot that this fixes into is an ideal location for my mobile phone. The mobile phone being better to use than the inbuilt sat navs.

Was a great idea and good design but would not fit our cd player. We have a Fiesta ST3 with Sony cd player not sure if was standard fit but would not stay in cd slot. Would not tighten but we received a full refund.

This is great. Had a similar one before but this one is better quality and more stable.

If changing CDs is not a problem, then this is great.

However this will slightly damage/alter the small felt lips of the CD insert opening, not a major thing for me.

After going through 4 other holders, I’m really please with this one. It fits very snugly in my CD slot, grips the phone well and doesn’t wobble around. It doesn’t impinge my view of my entertainment centre in the car but can be angled pretty much any way to give the best view of the phone. I’d also like to thank Nana from Yosh whose customer service throughout many different holders has been absolutely excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great holder for iPhone XR and Toyota Rav4 2015

I use the CD-slot-mount auto-locking version to hold my S23 Ultra in my MX-5.

It works well, holds the phone snugly, and has a slot in the centre of the base grips to allow a charging cable to pass through.

Fits in cd slot but not secure so falls out of slot easy. Partly down to the design of the fiesta so product not necessarily at fault but shouldn’t be branded as universal really.

Having read the previous feedback which was mostly positive I thought I would try it out.
I was not disappointed as it is the best mobile cradle I have owned (VW cc Passat) once you install into the CD slot which I never use the cradle is firmly in place, it does not shake or rattle and holds the mobile firmly.
I thought the design was great and would recommend to those who are fed up with suction pads coming unstuck or the unstable vent type holders, really good product and 5 + stars

CD mount allows you some degree of flexibility as to a higher or lower mount. Make sure you fit it tightly and use the rubber pads.

I use a new Galaxy Note handset, so big and heavy. This holder doesn’t rattle, Drop or lose position at all, even on poor road surfaces.

It sticks out a fair bit so be mindful of this when changing gear.

Dock release is easy and secure.

Would be nice to see a wireless charging variant.

Bought this so could use sat nav on phone. (Car sat nav not always up to date). Easy to use. However if not in tight into cd holder will fall off as soon as any weight put on it. So when using screw to expand into cd insert, keep going until it’s firmly in.

As long as you have a CD player in the right place, this will sit nicely.

I never use my CD player and never thought of a mount that’d take its place, this mount has changed my life. I use a self-closing wireless charger instead of the one provided (personal preference) since the ball joint is compatible with most other mount bases.

The mount provided is really good and simple to use, but I don’t like fiddling with plugging my phone in to charge so a wireless mount is ideal for me. The part that goes in the cd player is great though, it hasn’t or won’t fall out or fall off (like adhesive mounts I’ve used always do and I can’t stand glass suction mounts). I can literally grab my phone, rotate it 360 and it won’t budge at all.

    Highly recommend this product.

Have 2 of these now, using in 2016 Ford Focus and 2012 Vauxhall Corsa. Work really well and secure phones (iPhone 7plus and 12) really well. Nice and stable. Smooth one handed action to secure an release and gap in cradle to allow for charging cable to be inserted into phone. Very good and would absolutely recommend for car owners with a CD player over vent mounts which I have found to be hit and miss, and suction mounts which often wobble or obscure view. And as most cars have be designed to be driver friendly the CD player is usually within easy reach or view. Delivery and packaging excellent.

I have struggled to find a suitable phone holder to use in a ford fiesta. I had previously used ones that clip on the vent, but they come off easily when turning or going round roundabouts.

I was sceptical about this holder as I wasn’t sure if it would be compatible with the central console on a ford fiesta.

If you put the cd holder section in upside down with the screw facing up to the windscreen the phone holder fits and work perfectly well.

The phone stays in the holder and doesn’t move when going around corners.

Only slight downside is that it’s a bit of fiddle to install and take off.
    But would highly recommend

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersBefore I purchase anything, I always read a selection of negative reviews. In respect of this item, I have concluded that those who submitted said reviews were either unlucky—and happened to be in the tiny minority of customers who receive faulty items—or they were utter morons.

The negative feedback almost deterred me from buying, but I decided to chance it. I’ve owned too many suction-based failures and broken vents to want to revisit those solutions.

In the event, my fears were misplaced. It arrived, I inserted it into the CD slot, gently tightened the bolt until there was no movement, and everything has been perfect since then. I love it. I no longer have vision impairment or vent obstruction. Sure, I occasionally knock the thing when I’m changing gear because it occupies a space directly above the gear stick. When I compare that, however, with watching my phone disappear into the footwell because the vent or suction mechanism has failed, well, there’s no competition.

I feel sad for those who are either unlucky or brain-dead.

This is a well-constructed unit, very sturdy and does not shake your mobile phone when you are driving.

It can be quite a tight fit getting it into the CD slot (with the protective spongy bits attached) but it goes in and tightens up nicely. It would take a thief seconds to unscrew and remove though, hence the 3-star security features rating.

I loved the slow, smooth arm opening (press the button on the rear and the arms slowly open), so you only need to open it enough to get your phone out, very slick.

Much to my disappointment, my CD slot is too low down (see photo). This means the phone obscures the heating and radio controls to the extent I could not even switch on the demister with this attached. I also noticed that I kept hitting it as I moved my hand from the steering wheel to the gear lever (and back). That’s probably something I could have learned not to do, but having the controls for ventilation and radio hidden was not going to work (I tried for a week).

Such a shame. If you have a car with a CD slot at the top of the dashboard (like the products’ photos) it should work very well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product if your CD slot is high up

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI love it! It’s so easy to assemble, no problem at all. Unlike other design that has 3 different discs to use depending on the CD type to ensure good fit, this one has a screw to change its depth. It holds my iPhone 6S plus with its leather cover easily. It survives all the bumps & pot holes in the country side so far. It can be adjusted to different angles for a perfect view. I can’t comment on its durability, as I only has it for 10 days. This is to replace my old one with silicon adhesive to be attached onto the dashboard. That design was awful because the silicon peeled off a thin layer of my dashboard when I needed to move it, and because of this, it became useless as that thin dashboard layer damaged the silicon adhesive. If this design doesn’t break like other users’ complaints on other CD holder of different brands, it’s a much much better design. I can also put it away when I don’t need to use it so it doesn’t block my view permanently. Because it is not on the air vent, it doesn’t block the hot air (I need the hot air during winter!) nor there is any risk my iPhone gets heated up. Price is also very decent. So far, a very happy customer and highly recommend it.
