Signs of Clothes Moths
Unfortunately the first sure sign of a clothes moth infestation will be damage to natural clothing and fabrics. Particularly if the items affected have been kept in storage.
Look out for:
- Visible damage to clothing (holes)
- Seeing larvae and/or adult moths
- Webbing/cocoons in corners of wardrobes or drawers
Causes of Clothes Moth
Clothes moths are attracted to animal hair (wool, cashmere, fur) which provides a rich source of food for their larvae. Dirty/used clothes are usually to blame for initial infestations as moths are drawn to sweat and body oil.
Be extra careful when introducing vintage clothing to wardrobes and drawers and ideally wash/dry clean before storing.
Treatment & Prevention
Larvae cause the damage so it’s important to break the cycle. Wash clothing before storage and place Zero In moth repellent products within wardrobes and drawers. Apply Zero In solutions and sprays to the inside of wardrobes and furniture prior to storing fabrics inside and monitor for infestations with pheromone traps.
Always read on-pack instructions before use.

Not easy to kill the little blighters with other products but after a thorough spray of this aerosol around the bedroom, one dead body was found on the bedside table. I’ll be using regularly.
oddly it has been a heavy year for moths and garments and things have been eaten in the chest of drawers This came recomended from a friend . But I will be able to report back better in due time
I started having a bit of a problem with moths (especially carpet moths) I used this product a week ago and since then I haven’t seen them again. I don’t like the smell, that’s the only reason I can’t give it 5 stars.
There is a ‘toxic’ like smell with it, but not enough to make me not want to use it, and once you air the room out the smell subsides and goes.
If you don’t mind paying the extortionate price then it is brilliant at what it claims to do. It really does work!
Good product which I have used in the past, expensive but does the job. However last time the spray did not work and only realised too late to return it. update: Amazon agreed to refund and this rating improved
I would give it a 5 if it fully killed the eggs of the moths that have made a home in my toilet. It is a tiny 5x3ft unused room, and I sprayed it as directed for over 30s, shut the door, the room was well sealed when shut, but the babies were seen a couple days later in my lounge again. Many were killed, as their bodies were in the floor of the toilet, but some clearly survived. So I used the spray again about 3 times, that week, so fairly intense onslaught, but each day after you would see some survivors.
I basically need something a bit more potent for my infestation. This works, but only to drastically cut down the numbers. They will not fully die out unless you directly attack nest(s) it seems.
