1. High quality materials and stitching. The wires inside don’t move about.
2. Heats very quickly and I can never use it at more than 3/6 heat level which says a lot because I love heat way more than the average brit – I’m comfy wearing a turtleneck AND a heated vest at 20 Celsius.
3. It doesn’t have any smell at all when heated. I expected to feel some sort of scent because when things get hot they normally do produce some. Was impressed that this one didn’t generate any smell at all.
The cable is long enough that I’m not worried at all about not reaching a power socket closeby.
The controller is very simple and intuitive. I like that the power button only needs to be pressed and not held down – minor thing but for some reason I really appreciate not having to keep it pressed.
There’s nothing that I can fault this with.
As technology advances I’m looking forward to using cordless heated blankets (when batteries will be small enough to be practical for these use cases too) as that’s the only small inconvenience with any heated blanket – the cord can sometimes get in the way.
This object is helping me so much through the start of the winter.
I never resorted to these methods but I’ve been very cold recently, this blanket blew me away.
It’s soft and well made, it can be a throw blanket or the warm heat underneath your back.
The display with the timer works perfectly and keeps me in check, not spending too much in electricity.
It is truly amazing how much it changed my nights, sometimes I’ll put it on just before the shower to have a warm bed to sleep in…
Very soft – that teddy bear chenille fabric – in a nice shade of grey, so it’s lovely and neutral if that’s your decor.
I tend to feel the cold, so this has been fab. It’s large for a blanket (it will just about cover a double bed) so you wrap yourself up in it while you’re on the sofa.
It has 6 heat settings (just quickly, the first time I used it, it made a slightly acrid, musty smell… you know the smell of hot dust? It was kind of like that, but it went away after about half an hour and hasn’t happened again) and I’ve never needed it hotter than setting 2, but we’ll see how it goes in the middle of winter.
You use the controller to set the time, too, and it goes up in 30 minute increments, but it will automatically shut off after 10 hours.
If you press down on it you can feel the internal the wires/cables that actually heat up, but you have to press to find them – just having it wrapped around you, you don’t feel them at all.
If you feel the cold, too, this really is a lovely thing. Especially if you live with people who don’t feel it in the same way – you can be wrapped up warm, while the room is cool.
