TheDisplay Port end plugs into the graphics card on my PC, an HDMI cable plugs into the other end and then goes to my 2nd monitor. I needed this because my graphics card only had 1 HDMI socket. It instantly worked, no setup required, and I don’t see any degradation in picture quality. My son uses this for his gaming machine and he reported “Argh, it be good”. He speaks pirate.
When it was I buying a monitor foolish I forgot to check if it was computable with DisplayPort but not to fear i bought this beautiful utensil and yet I cracked a smile it made it even better than my crappy old HDMI sweater thank you
I’m new to the Display port and was disappointed when I couldn’t plug my PC into my TV as it had no HDMI out.
The Benfei Display port to HDMI adapter advertised on Amazon looked like a great solution and I put in an order and when It arrived, earlier than expected, I opened the box and I have to say I was pleased with what I saw – a well designed and extremely well made product. The second plus was that it was so easy to install just “Plug and Play”
The adapter is sleek design and has enough cable to plug into a the Display Port of a PC and a small, sleek input that accepts the HDMI cable. Great product and worked first time – many thanks
This was purchased to connect a new PC to an existing AV installation. It meets that need well. I did need to change the DP port used while setting things up, and the clip on this unit was quite hard to release, especially when working in a confined space. However, this does give me confidences that the adapter won’t fall out while the system is in use.
It has only been in use for 3 weeks, so I cannot comment on durability, but the build seems suitably solid.
It’s pretty cheap, and you can sort of feel that when holding it but for the average user that’s not going to matter and it will get the job done.
I had an issue with a device (HP Think Client) fitted with DisplayPort outputs, when connected to a screen via a KVM. When it booted, the display would blank, so after narrowing down possible causes I suspected that the connecting cable was “sub-standard”, i.e., not all signal lines correctly wired. Other machines were connected to the KVM via HDMI with no issues, so I bought this adapter for the HP Thin Client to connect via HDMI. Problem resolved, and screen output is perfect! So I have no hesitation recommending this well made adaptor, which is also very competitively priced.
This little thing did the job for quite a while, and it did it quite well, until I came to plug it into a Benq 27″ monitor. It works, but when quite often when the laptop wakes up wakes up from sleep mode, this unit stops sending video to the monitor and I have to physically unplug the HDMI cable from this after to restore the image to the screen.
It’s curious because it didn’t do it with the previous monitor.
So if you’re wanting to use this on a Benq 27″ monitor, I wouldn’t if I were you. Use something else.
