It works. It is robust. It has a loop to allow you to attach to your existing cable easily. It is MFI certified so you don’t need to worry that it would suddenly fail after a certain iOS update. Nothing I could complain.
I dread to think how many lighting to USB C connectors that I purchased over the years they work really well (and have a really great value in the Apple eco-system because (unless you have an iPhone 15) you need USB C for your iPad and lightning for your iPhone and so have to cary way too many cables around with you. A lightning cable with one of these convertor works really well but they are so easy to loose as they are way too small and fiddly. The real value with these convertors is that they have a small tag on them that you can use to safely attach them to your lightning cable and hence you don’t loose them (or have them “borrowed”).these convertors work exactly as they should (good for both power and fast data) but have loads of extra convenience value because of the attached tags! Highly recommended.
I’m genuinely blown away how these adapters work flawlessly. I’ve used many lightning and USB-C adapters and all have had their flaws. I’ve yet to find any with this one.
Presentation: Comes in a nice little box. In the box the adapter(s) are in a resealable plastic bag. There is also a 24-month warranty card.
Design: The design feels really solid being all metal (I assume aluminum) with a rubber/silicone band secured in a design indentation which feels more secure than it might look. It could be removed if you wish with a bit of persuasion. The loop to secure this to a USB-c cable is big enough to easily get over the connector but secures itself well. Maybe the loop could be a little smaller but then attaching to cables would be a bit more trouble.
Testing: I tested this on my iPhone and iPad with a USB-A to C cable and a PD USB-C cable. I’ve attached what my analyser picked up but the charge current matched that of my official Apple cables. I was also able to connect to my computer for data transfer.
Conclusion: I highly recommend this adapter!
I do not have a USB-C only household as I have a dedicated cable for each device. However this might move toward becoming USB-C only. As mentioned above I have used a lot of USB to lighting adaptors and even the ones that work break within a few months. I’d dare say I’ve developed a 6th sense for this and can’t see why this would fail anytime soon. I’m going to find a way to add this connector into my daily use, maybe to use at work. I’ll of course update should I run into any issues with this adapter.
Great little add-on for my tablet charger to allow me to take one charger when out and about. Allows me to pack only the one charger but use it with my iPhone and iPad saving space and weight. the adaptors are one of the better ones coming with a silicone loop attachment to keep them on the cable when not in use. Also has a nice polished aluminium finish to the connector.
Bought this as tired of swapping lightening charger for AirPods to USB-C for iPhone charging. Love the fact it has a loop to keep it attached to USB-C cable.
Very reasonably priced too.
