My wife is in love with this. She has been blown away by the quality (though given the price, I would expect a lot!) It does all that it claims it will and is a wonderfully painless alternative to the other hair removal systems out there that either aren’t effective or hurt a LOT. It is important to note that this is not a cheap option at all but if you are serious about results, it will be worth the money to you.
What a great product! This really works and is so simple to use. The app function makes it foolproof. I love that it can adapts to my skin tone and sorts all it own settings out so I don’t really have to do anything other than press a few buttons and link it to me phone. I love that you can set the schedule to remind you when you have a session and the results are noticeable within a few weeks. Hair grows back slower, and much finer! Its painless, and do notice a slight burnt hair smell when using but its not too strong.
It is on the expensive side, but its worth it in the long run – you will save money on trips to the beautician to have your legs waxed and you have the convenience of being able to sort yourself out at home if you can afford the initial outlay

If hair removal is the bane of your life then this is probably the gadget for you. I have fair skin/auburn hair and have removed hair since my early teens. This laser hair remover does reduce hair growth but you need to be patient as although it works quicker than I was expecting (on my legs) it doesn’t happen overnight.
If I’m honest I’ve struggled to find time to/remember to do it but because after three weeks the hair is noticeably depleted I’m going to make a more concerted effort now we are coming into the Summer months.
You need to give yourself some extra time (but not particularly more than you would to shave or wax) and I think this is where I’ve struggled as I didn’t need to shave my legs every day, more like once a weekso the time aspect is a slight hindrance for me. IF you hate the time you spend on hair removal though, you’ll appreciate using this.
It’s expensive there is no denying (currently 565!) and for a girl who uses a disposable razor once a week, possibly not worth itbut if you pay for treatments such as waxing or laser this is probably an investment.

It’s certainly not a quick-fix to hair removal and you will need to invest quite a bit of time into it. Having said that, I am starting to see results, and am hoping over the nest few months to see a steady improvement.
Yes, it’s expensive, but it’s nowhere near as expensive as going to a salon, plus you can do this in the comfort of your own home.
What sets this apart though is the app. It’s brilliant! From guiding you on what areas you have covered, to setting calendar reminders, it’s very user-friendly.
I’m not too convinced yet on the claims that you will be hair-free for ‘up to’ 1 year, time will tell on that, but for now, I am pleased with it.
I’m really impressed with the quality of this Braun IPL hair remover. I kind of expect Braun to be decent quality anyway but everything is spot on including how easy and logical it is to set up and to use the app.
It’s relatively quick (20-30m for me) and easy to use, and although it took me a few weeks (month so far) to notice much of an affect in the long term I can see it being so much less hassle and with cleaner results than shaving. I was a bit worried about comfort while using but it’s actually a breeze. It’s a bit easier to position over soft area’s than bony ones, especially if you are quite petite, but for legs and under arms etc it seems great so far.
I think if you have skin and hair types that this device suits then it’s a great option.
This is an absolute game changer for hair maintenance. Wife typically has to shave every other day, and as expected it’s a chore.
The device is easy to set up, and as you’d expect from a mainstream company the software is excellent. It sets up a treatment plan for each of the areas you intend on using it on. Wife has only started with legs and armpits. You can set the power level based on comfort levels, allowing for different tolerances. In order to assess how uncomfortable the product could be, she opted for highest level and I’m pleased to say she’s managed fine with it. She has reported that certain parts do hurt a little, mainly under armpits.
The device has a handy LED that lets you know if surface contact is good, and this can be fiddly on angular areas such as shins but otherwise it’s a straightforward drag over the area.
As for results, after 4 weeks she’s already noticed far less requirement to shave. She’s now at about every 4 days, and the growth that has occured is far less dense showing a few of the hairs are already dead.
The price is high, but in my opinion it’s warranted for the quality of the machine, it’s worth is really dependent on how much it bothers you shaving.
Overall, if your someone that finds shaving a chore, I can say this will solve that chore, and worth it if you have the money. My only complaints as a balding man is it can’t be used on heads, so I’m stuck with my every other day head shave!
Decent quality product, looks stylish and feels sturdy. Greatly reduced hair re growth especially under arms, very cost effective to use at a comfort of your home.
I am only a couple of treatments in so i can’t speak for the long-term efficacy. However, I can say this is well made and designed, fairly easy to use. It allows me to use on various body areas safely. The settings are super easy to navigate. I love the safety feature where the laser can only be used when it’s in full contact with the skin, and I was amazed how quick each treatment is. I don’t find it painful and have had no side-effects whatsoever. I have pale skin and dark brown hair, for reference.
The only thing I have found, but not sure how it could be solved, is when I use it on my legs, I don’t know where I’ve already lasered, plus it’s easy to stray from the straight line you’re trying to keep to. Other than that a really great product in my opinion, I would recommend it, you can have salon results from the comfort of your own home it works wonders.
This product is powerful and with that comes a bit of pain but it’s not unbearable and you can see results straight away. You can also enjoy the lovely smell of burning hair! This model is a ‘smart’ one and can learn as it goes but if you want to use this function, you have to download an app and register. My daughter didn’t like their data collection policy for something that feels really intimate and personal so she won’t be using that function.
Braun states that the light should not cause any eye problems but my daughter said she’d feel more comfortable if goggles had been provided. A positive is that you can use your usual hair removal method before using the device, which is helpful for people who don’t/can’t shave.
This is a good product but you can’t use it for faces and it would be so much better if it had a cooling system as some other IPLs do. It’s also significantly more expensive and it’s worth shopping around. I’ve deducted 1* because I feel that the app is intrusive.
I wasn’t sure about gifting this to my niece as I didn’t want her to think I was suggesting she needed to have hair removed but she’s over the moon with it.
She suffers with polycystic ovary syndrome and has tried hundreds of products over the years. She has had harsh reactions to creams & shaving areas causes irritation too. It’s painful to pluck hairs or remove with wax but there’s also a large cost associated with needing to go to a beauty salon regularly.
She wanted something similar to this but it was out of her price range and when I gifted it her she jumped for joy. It had already been suggested to use something like this as it works on targeting not just the hairs but the follicle and with regular use reduces returning growth.
The app guides you through how to use it and also helps with the correct settings, once you’ve confirmed you have no adverse reactions you’re able to use freely.
There are three intensity settings which allow you to choose how powerful it is and how fast you wish to see results. She’s been using it once a week for the past month and is seriously impressed with the results. It has not only removed but seems to be preventing new growth and her overall confidence is picking up too.
For the cost alone she is saving this is well worth the money in her view. Salon’s are expensive and so are kits you can use as home.

I’ve tried a couple of other IPL devices. This one from Braun is super-impressive, in comparison.
The instructions are excellent, using plenty of text rather than just pictures and diagrams, unlike some Braun products such as my husband’s top-of-the-range shaver. Setup is straightforward, using the app for guidance or just following the instructions.
It’s easy to operate and much more comfortable on the skin than the last salon machine I experienced. It really does seem to ‘learn and adapt to my skin’. A pair of skin tone sensors lets the device select the appropriate light intensity automatically, adjusting it as you treat different body areas.
So far, I’ve only used it three times, over 10 days, having been away on holiday. But I need to get on and write my review. You have to shave first, to remove visible hair, using the included razor or your own. Then treat with the IPL machine. 10 days on, I think I can see a slight difference under my arms and on my legs, with what I feel is some definite thinning and lightening of re-growth. I should have taken photos before I started, so that I could compare — there’s a tip for anyone who hasn’t bought it yet.
There’s so much more to saythe genuinely useful app, the choice of modes, wide and precision heads as well as the standard head, the attractive practical storage pouch. And, in particular, ease of use, with the machine automatically recognising the head you’re using and continuously adapting to your skin as you treat different areas.
It’s too early to judge long-term performance but you’ll gather I’m impressed, so far. It’s a genuine pleasure to use, compared with cheaper, Chinese versions. I’m looking forward to seeing how the results go, from here — after taking photos for future reference.
I love having the machine. I can use it wherever and whenever I like, saving a lot of time versus salon visits. I don’t have to make appointments or suffer any possible embarrassment. And I’ll save a lot of money, over time.
I can find nothing to criticise. This isn’t a cheap product but it’s worth every penny, at least to me. It’s also very attractively boxed and presented, so would make a wonderful gift. If you can afford it, just buy it.

What a game changer this is. Hopefully I will never need to shave again. This has really impressed me.
In the box is the main device, you get three different heads to customize your treatment based on your needs as well as a razor. Plus, there’s a handy carry pouch included, making it perfect for travel or storage.
One of the standout features of this device is how gentle it is on the skin. I’ve tried other hair removal methods in the past that left my skin irritated and red, but with the Braun Smart IPL I Expert, I experienced none of that. It’s comfortable to use and virtually painless, even on sensitive areas like the bikini line and face.
I’ve been using this device for a few weeks now, and I can already see a noticeable difference. Not only has it slowed down hair growth, but it’s also reduced the overall amount of hair present.
Inside the box, there’s a QR code that takes you straight to the app store to download and install an app that helps you set up the device. It’s user-friendly and makes the whole process even easier. The machine will scan your skin colour to make sure you are compatible and proceed to do patch tests which is great rather than going in all guns blazing.
The machine does it all from face, under arms, legs, bikni line etc. Price wish Im sure you will buy and use more razors in your life time than the cost of this machine or salon treatments.
One thing that came up, which I was relieved about, is the lifetime of this product. Specifically “flashes”.
Many people have said that you may as well buy another device if it ran out – Braun claim that this has over 400, 000 flashes / up to 22 years treatment. Take that with a pinch of salt, but certainly keep it in mind that the reason this device and all other devices from other manufacturers cost as much as they do, is because of this particular part.
Using the device was easy and with the smart sensor that gets used to your skin, experience was consistent and painless.
It’s very easy to hold and the app has all the information you need.
We’ll see in time how the hair follicles behave. Should my experience change for the negative, I’ll return with an amended review in future.

When I first received this item, looking at the box I thought that it might be very complicated to set up but that certainly wasn’t true.
The written instructions are very simple and easy to follow and I downloaded the app and although it didn’t want to connect initially I persevered and eventually got it to connect to my phone. Again, the instructions on the phone were very easy to follow and it asks you to do a simple skin test just to make sure it is suitable for your skin type. I like the app as it creates a session plan for you telling you how often to use the IPL to get the best results.
This Skin i-expert model comes with three different heads depending on what part of your body you are treating; a standard head, a wide head and a precision head for smaller areas. I have used the standard head on my lower legs and didn’t feel a thing when using.
The actual device is very clever as it reads your skin tone and then selects the appropriate light intensity which shows up on the power bars on the side of the device, but you can also control the intensity depending on whether you doing sensitive areas.
This model also includes a mini facial hair remover which is very easy to use. I used this on my upper lip and have already noticed a difference.
The pack also includes a Gillette Venus razor and head to remove any excess hair before actually using the Skin i-expert.
And it all comes in a very handy and smart looking velvet case keeping it altogether in one place.
Although quite expensive I would recommend this product as it is very easy to use. And although I haven’t been using it for long enough yet to see results, I will continue to use it.
I read so many reviews before deciding to buy this. So far after 5 sessions I am really pleased.
Definitely noticing much less and slower hair growth.
It takes some getting used to, to work out which angles to hold it at in tricky areas. And ways to stop it stinging. Do sensitive areas first and straight after shaving. Also if getting too hot just turn off for a little while. I’m amazed at how quick some people say it takes. With shaving and doing this it takes me about 45 mins now. That’s whole leg. Bikini, armpits and tash.
I also think some review people here don’t understand that you do have to always use this product. Even when hair is gone, you still have to use it or the hair will grow back. I’m so thankful for it. I’ll update when I’ve done more sessions.
Expensive but it’s made easier with 4 equal payments. Easy to handle and use just starting to see the difference after 4 weeks of use. Facial hair on my chin is definitely getting less frequent not plucking it as much.
