As soon as you open this HDMI 2.1 cable from BYEASY you can tell it’s a high quality cable. The nylon braided cable along with the gold plated ports give this HDMI cable a premium feel.
In terms of promised compatibility, I’ve had no connectivity problems between my PC and 4K monitor.
All in all, very nice cable highly recommended
I am pleased to finally be able to review this cable. There has been a problem with Amazon being able to accept my review until now.
It is an excellent product, with flexible braided wire and good quality aluminium plugs. After using it for a month I can confirm it reliably connects my TV and the HDMI boxes that go with it.
Its hard to say much about an hdmi cable to be fair. They either work or they dont. Tested on both a firecube and a ps4 and a pc. Works well up to max FPS/HZ hdmi offers at 4k resolutions (can’t test higher). The cable feels thick enough that it will last a lifetime.
To be honest i might by some more longer ones for some other devices.
Wanted to upgrade one of my HDMI cables for a longer one and also one to the latest standard as many of my HDMI cables are years old and probably can’t cope with the latest technology such as 8K.
First impressions were good with the cable appearing very good quality, nice braded finish and good quality terminations.
Plugged in, worked a treat with my Dolby Atmos soundbar and Samsung TV. So far so good, and will look to upgrade my other cables with these in due course.
This appears to be a well made cable. Although I’m not going to butcher the plug to see just how well made, in one of my review photos you can see a cut-away section of the cable.
Each signal pair in the cable is tightly twisted together, and what looks like a coloured plastic wrap around each pair is actually a coloured foil screen, you may be able to make out that the purple pair at the bottom actually has a blue wire inside. There’s a further foil screen over the whole bundle for even more protection against interference to or from the cable. Like other similar cables the plugs are moulded plastic with integrated strain relief, with a gold-plated connector and a grey aluminium outer sleeve, the plastic should give good support to the connector itself, especially important if there’s weight hanging from the cable or if it’s repeatedly plugged and unplugged.
I’ve only been able to test up to 1080p but that was fine and given the design (and the fact it’s only half a metre long) I’d expect 8K to be perfectly fine too. They’ve certainly not skimped on the pair twisting here.
This cable has a very sturdy feel to it. Strain relief on the cable (where it joins the socket) is excellent, and goes to about 2 cm in length at each socket. The braiding has a very pleasing ‘new carpet’ smell (!) and is well stitched. As other commenters have noted, 8K is very rare and getting moreso, but on my LG OLED (CX), this cable performs superbly with the PlayStation 5.
I would recommend this cable.
Wasn’t able to test at 8K, but handles 4K60 like a charm. Slim but sturdy, with a nice braid, metal end shells, a strong rubberised plastic strain relief and gold plated connectors, this is a quality HDMI lead at a bargain price!
8K cables are future proof, besides they often offer the ability to have a refresh rate higher than 60Hz when used with some 4K equipment (like a PC monitor).
Price wise they are almost the same price as 4K anyway now so it’s a no brainer.
This cable has pretty much everything I would expect from a decent quality HDMI cable. It has a braided cord (even double-braided), an aluminum casing, 2 plastic protector caps, a Velcro strap and a gold plated plug. There are opinions that gold plating doesn’t have any effect on quality, but I guess it’s safer to have it.
The standard on 8K is HDMI 2.1. It means you get the latest technology and compliance for both picture and sound.
I picked the 50cm version as I intend to use it with my HDMI switcher and need a short cable to connect it with my mini PC next to it. At the moment I use a rolled up 2m cable, which doesn’t look great.
One thing that I’m not 100% happy with is the flexibility. I have cables which are safe but very flexible. This one is a little bit stiff in comparison. But not a biggie.
Overall this is a very decent cable and for 8 it’s also good value. I’m happy to recommend it.
Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful.
Nice looking cable that looks well made. I was going to use this from my blueray hard drive recorder to my 4k HDR TV but a Christmas visit from my 22 month old grandson changed that. He was watching the TV and used the sound bar to steady himself when he got a little excited. It pulled out the optical cable out and I couldn’t get it to stay in place afterwards. I’d tried all the HDMI cables that I had before but couldn’t get the HDMIRC sound to work. In desperation I tried this one and it worked immediately. Not what I intended it for but it solved my problem.
Listening to an specialist Audio/Video podcast has taught me that low quality hdmi cables can cause all sorts of grief in tracing picture and recording dropouts and connection problems. As HDMI moves to the 2.1 and higher future standards then the signalling needs better cables, especially with longer ones (above 1m is considered long for 8K)
This one is round form and nicely woven casing, has metal cased connectors that look best quality. I cannot fully test the signal with my current setup, but will be confident I am well prepared.
Used this with a 1440p 165Hz monitor and was able to output no problem at that resolution and refresh rate, I don’t have a 4K or 8K display to test those claims, but HDMI 2.1 is capable of that, in theory at higher refresh rates than 60Hz 8K.
The cable is a nice durable braided style and has built in strain reliefs at the ends, so it should last. Note that 1m doesn’t go very far in most applications, so I’d consider a 2 or 3m cable for flexibility, double check how much length you need before you order.
Good cables. I had no issues with it after replacing and testing a few different devices; PC to 120hz 4K TV, PC to 144hz 1440p Monitor, PS5 to 120hz 4K TV. All operated at full spec. My current setups are flawless so if this cable caused any kind of issue or affected the picture quality I would notice immediately.
The build quality of the cable is excellent. It flexes well and there’s no imperfections. The extra cable support sleeves added at the each end of the cables is longer than usual, which just makes it stronger, but if you have anything very close to a wall then it is going to press up against it.
Now that the 2.1 spec cables are at a reasonable price point there’s no reason to get anything else, since they are backwards compatible. Might as well future proof yourself as much as possible even if you aren’t making use of the higher resolutions and FPS yet.
Needed another short HDMI cable to cut down on spaghettification behind the TV and components. this does the job exactly as it should. Solid construction, yet pretty flexible at the same time. Comes in at 51cm tip-to-tip and supplied with dust covers. Connection is firm and there’s no real kinking or resistance to the cable that you sometimes get with short runs.
In the photos I’ve already added orange cable ties for identification – they weren’t part of the delivery.
Byeasy 8K UHD HDMI 2.1 50cm cable.
To clarify i do not have any 8K gear to fully test this cable so am using it for 4K 60Hz gear in a three way HDMI splitter configuration, 2 mini PC’s @ 4K 60Hz to this 8K UHD cable in 4K 60Hz mode.
The cable is the 50cm version but are available in various lengths up to 3m long, the HDMI plug has gold plating with a aluminium shell and nylon braided strong cable with a modest amount of flexibility.
In operation i was using 2 mini PC’s both HDMI 2.1 compliant but only at 60Hz to a 4K LG C2 OLED display that is fully HDMI 2.1 compliant, Picture quality was the exact same quality as if i was using a single direct connection, vibrant HDR colours and crisp sound plus I never had any black screen drop outs not a single glitch in sight, during my two day testing i have had zero complaints regarding this HDMI cable but as i have said I’m unable to fully test it up to it’s 8K UHD goodness.
A quality product that did what i required it to do.
I spent much of Christmas re-wiring all of my computers, TVs and games consoles through various switchboxes and it was amazing how many of my existing HDMI cables were dated and older specification. It was causing a bottleneck between my sources (laptops and PS5 etc) and my LG OLED TV which is capable of great thingsprovided you use the right HDMI 2.1 cables.
I’ve tried out this BYEASY HDMI 2.1 cable with my PS5 and I’m pleased that it’s delivering the performance it should be doing. The TV and PS5 are both reporting back that all capabilities possible from both devices are functioning, which is only possible with a good HDMI cable. So, I’ve got 4K, 120hz refresh and VRR etc.
The cable feels durable and likely to last well, and at 3m in length it’s given me free reign to wire everything up how I want and keep cables tucked out of sight.
At the price when tested, it’s also very good value. I’ve paid many times more than this for a similar standard cable so I’m more than happy with this.
BYEASY HDMI 2.1 Cable 8K@60Hz.
I have only been able to try this with a 4K Blu-ray player connected to a 4K TV. This cable is 8K capable, so a bit of future proofing in my case.
The cable is well made and feels good quality. It has a braided cover over the cable which seems to be the norm for this type of high-quality cable. It is not too thick which allows it to bend quite easily. The connectors fit securely into the HDMI sockets on my equipment.
I am very pleased with the Blu-ray – TV picture, so happy with this cable.
This is a premium cable disigned to carry an 8k signal. I have only had the opportunity to test it with a 4k source and it coped admirably with that. Not expensive for what it does it looks built to last with its woven outer casing. Recommended
I had a need to plug our Nintendo switch console in to a wall mounted TV, and this cable has done the job very well.
The cable came suitably packaged, nothing fancy a resealable bag. There were cable covers over the ends, which I will continue to keep on the cable when not in use.
The cable is thick and has good strain relief to assist in plugging it in and out. The curvature isn’t that tight due to the braiding, but unless your TV/device is right against the wall it should be OK. For my purposes, the lack of bendability means I won’t be able to put it in the cable tidy attached to the wall.
Excellent, well-made cable that simply works and at a very reasonable price.
I have the 0.5mtr cable which I have used to connect a media player to an AV receiver which then connects to a ceiling mounted Epson TW7200 projector. The resolution is HD 1080P and the picture is perfect, so too is the surround sound through the amp. Ok I’m not stretching the capability of this cable to 8K UHD so I’m unable to vouch for the integrity of the signal when run at that level. On inspection the cable seems very well put together. The connectors feel and look sturdy with nice strain relief. The cable is not overly heavy or stiff which I prefer as there is no strain on the socket when the cable is plugged in. I have no reason to doubt that this cable would perform as described if used to pass an 8K UHD signal.
Very happy with this product — it does the job well!
I do not have anything that is 8K, but I took the opportunity, whilst upgrading my old HDMI cables, to get this high specification lead so I would be ready for the future.
One day I might be lucky enough to trade up my 4K Sony TV and Dell Ultra Sharp monitor. Until that happens I tested the cable with 1080p 25Hz and 4K 60Hz from my iPad Pro and it worked flawlessly – although the monitor seemed to max out at 1440, so not 4K.
The lead is thick, 6mm diameter, but although the bend radius is greater than most other cables I own it does straighten out and follow the path I choose rather than retaining the bends imparted when it was packed, to me this is a big plus point.
The plugs are smart grey anodised aluminium with substantial strain relief, although this probably isn’t necessary, I think the socket would be in more danger if the cable was bent repeatedly.
The cable I’m reviewing is 3 meters and as length greatly affects the performance of HDMI leads this review just relates to the 3 meter version. This is a long cable for 8k HDMI and I had a special use for it. If you can manage with a sorter cable, when it comes to HDMI the shorter the better – Amazon have a range of lengths from Byeasy to choose from.
I needed to find a way to connect my IPad and other devices directly into my TV, the wireless connection for screen sharing was not always reliable.
I found the BYEASY USB C to HDMI cable a perfect match for my requirements. The cable arrived promptly and is very good quality, given that it’s braided, with moulded connectors on each end. The cable is supplied with a very handy Velcro strap in case you do not need to utilise the full length. The cable feels like good quality and durable.
The cable was connected to my TV and then plugged into my laptop, it worked faultlessly just as i need! The cable worked brilliantly, displaying great picture quality, no loss in signal or picture. What a great product, i will be using this cable to also connect my Laptop to my monitor now too. The refresh rate was good too, no flickering in the picture or drop in quality.
Given the cable is 2m in length i have enough space to then connect my laptop comfortable without trying to stretch the cable or put my laptop into awkward positions.
I’m sure the cable can be used for other things with USB 3.1 however it’s a good quality cable, works as expected, no delays or lag. What more can you ask for? Priced at 18.99 at the time of review, its excellent value for money, given the quality and performance. If you have an Apple device then i can definitely recommend.
This cable worked impeccably. It worked just a advertised. I plugged it into a spare HDMI socket on the TV and selected it with the remote control. I then plugged the cable into a USB-C port on my laptop and the extended screen popped up without any intervention by me.
Unplug the USB-C end and the laptop screen blinks and is back to normal. Whether it is the cable’s cunning, or an enhancement in Windows 11, I don’t know, but when I used to cast my laptop screen to the TV and then disconnect, the mouse pointer didn’t ‘realise’ its real estate had shrunk and would disappear into irritating nothingness. Beyond irritating! When this cable is disconnected the pointer behaves properly.
Unlike casting, there is no lag when using this cable. As to quality, the cable is rated at a higher definition than my TV, and I am not upgrading my TV anytime soon. The cable looks stylish and robust. My only caution would be the price. It is more expensive than some competitors so may not strictly be best value for money. Nonetheless, I am delighted.
This excellent cable seems to have proved me wrong and has forced me to re-think my previous opinions.
I have always believed that a more expensive and better-built HDMI cable could never make any difference to picture and sound quality. I was by no means alone in thinking this, since most ‘experts’ are also of this opinion.
As the name suggests, an HDMI cable carries a completely digital signal so it can either carry the signal or not; there is no in-between. This should then mean that a more expensive or better-made digital cable will make no difference to signal quality, unlike analogue systems, where cable quality can make a considerable difference.
As an obsessive hi-fi fanatic, I have always striven to get the best out of my hi-fi system (power supply, pre-amp, three power amps, tri-amped active speakers) so my (analogue) speaker cable has always looked as if it would be capable of supporting the National Grid. Yet I have never bothered much with the quality of my HDMI cables because I always felt that they would either work or not, irrespective of price and so-called ‘quality’.
As I said earlier, this HDMI cable has proved me wrong. In fairness, I tested the cable with ‘ordinary’ SD signals from my 360 box and terrestrial channels to my 50 inch TV, and I didn’t see any real differences from my usual ‘mid-range’ HDMI cable; the same was more or less true of normal HD signals.
However, when I used this cable with the new 4K Ultra channel on my 360 box, it blew my socks off. The picture was crisper, colours more realistic, blacks deeper — and so much better than with my previous cable, despite my cable being a mere 750cm and the ByEasy being four times longer; so no signal loss either. And the TV sound through my stereo system was literally stunning.
I’m baffled; I honestly can’t think of a valid reason why this cable’s performance should be any better — but it is. I don’t have the technical knowledge to explain this amazing improvement with 4k signals but, as a user, I’m absolutely delighted.
This ByEasy cable, despite being inexpensive, is clearly a top quality cable. It is thick yet flexible, braided and comes complete with top-quality gold-plated connectors so it should perform well; and it does.
The manufacturers say that this cable will support 8K so, if the 4K performance is anything to go by, it’s going to be a winner once 8K arrives.
At the current price of 13.99 for THREE METRES, it’s an absolute steal. I intend to replace all my HDMI cables with this one. But I’m still baffled.
The cable feels good quality, has strong strain relief where the cable enters the connector to provide adequate protection from bending too far.
The cable was tested on an Xbox X and displayed perfectly with 4K resolution. I am unable to confirm the 8K resolution as I don’t have any devices (or TV) with 8K. However 4K is fine.
All in all, a decent item at a decent price. 4 Stars.
Packed in a generic plastic bag, the BYEASY HDMI Cable offers 8K@60Hz resolution, giving an immersive visual experience that brings detail to life on screen. Running this (rather short) cable from a laptop to a QLED 8K TV worked flawlessly, without adding artefacts, black bars, noise or any other glitches. At 500cm it’s a suitable length to connect to a system that is stacked without adding miles of dangling cable. The black, braided Nylon cable outer sleeve makes the cable feel ridged without much in the way of flexibility, and although in some circumstances rigidity may be suitable, it may make it a little cumbersome to connect both ends to separate items if the equipment is stacked. The cable’s alloy connectors have a sturdy feel to them that is superior to plastic – but again not a premium feel – and the plastic strain-relief gauge is good but pretty stiff.
This cable worked well for viewing,, and while watching an Icelandic volcano eruption filmed by drone in 8K, the detail seen is utterly remarkable, although to be totally frank, I was unable to tell whether the result offered a significantly improved visual difference when switching from 4K to 8K and back again.
Shorter length cables make an ideal choice for connecting TV hubs (as seen on ‘Frame’ style TV’s) to audio equipment that have HDMI with eARC capabilities, then the BYEASY 8K UHD HDMI cable may offer good performance for this purpose, making it a good choice for your entertainment needs.
A little bit expensive, especially if you’re like me and have a load of Poundland HDMI cables knocking around the place, but you get what you pay for. Braided cables are the business, as far as I’m concerned, and the plugs are nice.
8K isn’t something I’ve experienced outside of the cinema, but I’ve got a 4K TV and an Xbox Series X, and HDMI 2.1 means it should be able to output 4K at 120fps. And it can! (AND it’s freaky as hell at that frame rate to a casual gamer like myself…)
4 stars purely because I don’t understand how the 2m one is 8 when the 1m one is 9…
This has everything that a great quality should have. Firstly the connectors at each end are nice and solid, and gold plated, which will give you the best contact possible. Then there is a solid plastic sheath covering the part where the connectors meet the cable, and this will prevent the cable from starting to fray too quickly as this part is where the most wear and tear would occur from bending. Then to finish it all off, the cable is covered in a lovely black and very tight knit nylon braiding. However, this is verging on the expensive side, even for a cable of this high quality.
Apart from the excellent 4K picture quality, the feature that impressed me the most about this cable is the ever so tight nylon braiding. Just when you think they can’t possibly get the braid any tighter they come up with one even tighter than the cables I purchased before. In the attached photos I have shown a comparison with another similar cable I purchased last week (which is the one in black and white). Hopefully you can see the difference in the braiding if you close in on the picture. It’s so tightly braided with the smallest possible of threads that it’s so strong but yet so flexible.
Technology marches on and, as it does so, some of our electronics become obsolete and require replacing with updated versions. Cables are one such thing. Cables I had a few years ago are not up to the job of passing 4K signals, let alone 8K. At the moment I don’t have any 8K electronics but I was in need of a new HDMI cable for my AVR. This cable allowed a bit of future proofing for when 8K does eventually take off but I must say that the number of new 8K TVs being produced is dwindling rather than expanding. But no matter, this cable is backwards compatible with 4K, which has got a good strong foothold.
This is a very nicely built cable. It has a durable looking braid and good long sleeves where the cable meets the connector. That is an important junction as it is where a lot of cables fail with repeated flexing. In the photo of the back of my AVR can be seen three HDMI cables, this one being the middle one. The protection of that vital junction appears far superior to the other two.
Once I had the cable connected up to my BluRay player I played a demanding 4K film with Dolby Vision and a Dolby Atmos soundtrack and it played flawlessly and without having to do any more than plug the cable in, select the source on my AVR, and start the film on my player.
I feel that 13.99 is a reasonable price to pay for a well built cable of 3 metres length and which should be durable enough to last a good many years. Of course the durability, and how well future proofed this cable turns out to be, will only be shown in the fullness of time.
Normally cables do not smell. This here has a smell reminding of new expensive cars. Is that added or the real material smell?
The spec is good but not top end. Just cables for your next 8K TV. For gamers on 8K large monitors an even higher Hz rate may be better, their equipment is so expensive that they should not try to save on cables.
All other users have with this cable some future reserve.
The cables are braided and very stiff, so stiff that it can be bend to a shape and then stays basically so if you let go. On a stationar use thats allright, but from a console or laptop which moves around this stiffness it not helpful. That can damage the sockets, as it is on my laptop. I must be craful now with the HDMI port …
The colour is plain boring black, but may have the advantage that it never looks dirty, like brighter braided cables can show.
I cannot test the technical limits of the cable, I have no 8k (yet). There is no CE or UK CA marking, but at least it has an 8K stamp on the plugs, so you know later what that cable can achieve (should achieve).
Using this with my 28″ flat screen monitor @ 144mhz with no issues.
No latency or lagging & no break up during play. I have a cable management system on my desk to my desktop PC & although this is a challenge to get into the cable run because its quite thick, this gives me confidence it will last a long time due to it’s quality.
Im sure it will work just as well with a TV/soundbar etc combinations. Never really sure why they supply the plastic caps on the ends – they always end up straight in the bin!!! Very pleased with the length & quality
This is a decent HDMI 2.1 lead that comes with a thickly braided cable and aluminium shell gold-plated connectors. I don’t have an 8k monitor to check this with but I do feel happier having that future-proofing in this cable. This cable certainly works fine on my existing monitor and TV, but I didn’t really notice any difference in quality to my normal cables.
Despite the thick braided cable, it is still flexible enough for most needs. It comes with a small velcro keeper and end caps for the connectors, both of which are nice touches. The bag the cable was supplied in is pretty basic and did not have information on but that’s not really a probem.
The only thing I find odd about these cables is that, at present, the 1m length costs more than the 2m length. Perhaps the shorter length offers a higher quality result?
Overall, a quality cable at a good price. Recommended.
BYEASY HDMI 2.1 Cable, 2M – Review
This HDMI 2.1 cable is of great value and quality. It features a thick black braided cable which is very rare to see at a price point of 6.99 at the time of reviewing. The connectors are gold-plated also. I tested this at 1440p & 4k and it worked great. The cable is meant to support up to 8k@60Hz however I wasn’t able to test this resolution. One thing to note that is common among cheaper HDMI 2.1 cables is that they aren’t certified. This means that the cable hasn’t gone through industry standard testing to confirm it complies with the HDMI 2.1 quality and standard. In my testing, however, the cable held up as expected. This offering is good value and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good-value HDMI 2.1 cable.
