I love this item! Saves me so much time in the mornings and it means i dont have to be out in the cold! I think everyone should have one of these! Love it!
I have a rather old car that takes quite a lot to get defrosted. I am also not patient, nor am I very good at planning my time. Frost is not my friend, so this very much is. It is easy to install and makes getting up and going so much easier. It is very effective at keeping the frost at bay. You just close the doors on the edges of the screen, no ties or cables to worry about. Much better than ones I have had historically.
It does hold the water though when the frost defrosts so I have hung it up to dry. So that is a bit aquard, but other than that its a great product.
I am using this to protect the windscreen of a classic car in storage, so cannot comment on the weatherproofing abilities – but I would happily recommend for winter use due to its sturdy construction and design. The storage bag is also a nice feature.
So I finally got to use this screen cover and it works perfectly.
Gone, the early morning scaping and freezing my fingers off.
It’s a nice snug fit and the material is a good thickness so no flapping in a breeze.
Simple to fit. Just tuck the wing edges into the doors and it’s done.. I was a little concerned I get water inside but none found so far. I initially tucked it under the windscreen wipers to hold it in place but the windscreen wiper blades went stiff in the cold so now I have them underneath. Generally, I can get away with that as my car is tucked out of the wind. If it gets particularly windy I’ll have to rethink..
So far, so good though. I’m pretty happy with it.
This is a well made 4 layered windscreen cover that works better than some others I’ve tried in the past. Suitable for keeping leaves off in the Autumn, frost/snow off in winter and as a sunscreen/ to bring the temperature of the vehicle down in the summer, as well as overall protection from dust etc I think it’s a very useful item to have all year round, although I’ve had to wait a while to test it in the frost (not a bad thing!) it’s been very cold at night of late and the windscreen cover does the job just right!
I got this in the large size to fit a medium sized motorhome, and the sizing is a good fit. There is a bag to store it in and actually it’s pretty easy to use. The screen isn’t as heavyweight or top quality as some but for the price at around 18.99 (and at the moment there is a voucher for 50% discount too!) it’s well worth the money – I’m very happy with it!
This windscreen cover is essentially a large padded rectangle of silver-coloured fabric. It has 2 wings of the same material which fold into the interior of the car with the front doors open. One then shuts the car’s front doors to secure the protector in place. It comes with a plastic zip bag and a blue fabric carrier/storage bag.
A key feature of such a design is that the stitching of the wings onto the main section must be sufficiently strong so as to avoid the main section being ripped away from the wings by wind and weather. The stitching on this example so far appears to be strong. Similarly, the protector (“standard” size) is quite large, and fits onto e.g. a Jaguar XJ8, as pictured. The padding protects the windscreen from accidental damage and helps with fitting onto a car. After a frost, it is easy to remove the protector, revealing a clear windscreen.
I recommend this car windscreen protector.
Nice, sturdy screen cover, its padded and fits my Mitsubishi pickup almost exactly…..the lower edge tucks under the wipers and there are 2 ‘ears’ that go inside the doors. Its a bit tricky getting it tight enough though….mind your fingers! haven’t tried it in a hard frost as yet but very hopeful it won’t stick to the glass like the lighter ones tend to do….
This is well made and fit for purpose. The material is thick enough to protect from heat and cold. I would prefer a better way of fixing it than trapping in the doors though.
A very thick insulating style cover for covering window with over the winter months when the dreaded frost strikes in the morning. This will be so handy to use to prevent my windscreen from frosting up. The item is very lightweight and comes in a handy bag to keep away when not in use. No complaints here
I do have a windscreen cover that I’ve used for a couple of years, but it is pretty cheap and flimsy compared to this cover, which is much more substantial without being too cumbersome. It sits really well on the screen and the flaps can be shut in the door frames to keep it in place if necessary. Does the job well and I like the fact that the reflective surface allows it to double up to act as a heat shield in the summer months. Easy to fold up and store when not in use.
I opted to test the smaller of these covers but it proved to be so generously-sized that it was more than large enough to cover the screen as well as the top-edge of the bonnet of our medium-sized SUV. The cover seals well to the screen, with the side ‘wings’ both long enough to be securely trapped in the closed doors.
After a severe overnight frost, the car was heavily-rimed with frost crystals but I was able to lift-off the windscreen cover and drive away immediately without any problem. I don’t know if the thick, multi-layer composition of the cover makes it so effective – but it seemed to have the effect of almost covering the screen with a lightweight blanket. The good size of the cover allows it to protect the screen-wash nozzles on my car as well – and prevented them from freezing-up this morning. This windscreen cover is multi-purpose and multi-seasonal, being equally useful as a summer sun-blocker for the windscreen, as well as being able to keep the screen clear of dust, debris and leaves.
The only (minor) drawback of this cover is its packed size and the need to re-fold it carefully to fit back into the provided storage bag. Other than that point, there is nothing to criticise about this cover which performs very effectively.
The Car Windscreen Cover is a versatile shield against the elements, providing protection for your vehicle throughout the seasons. Its waterproof and dustproof. It would be perfect and worth all stars if it was a bit cheaper.
Nice and thick. Almost like a padded quilt.
Very good quality.
It covers the windscreen of my Renault Master van but the flaps that tuck inside the doors to hold it in place don’t quite go to the top corner but they do seem to hold it flat all the way across so, hopefully it won’t be an issue in windy weather.
Otherwise a very good screen cover.
Like a duvet for your car!
This is a good size that covers the window well and is thick material.
My only concern would be if it soaks up water like a giant sponge!
At a penny shy of 16, this windscreen cover does its job well enough, but it isn’t as good as the one I reviewed recently from the Mengine brand, which was not only better, but also a few pounds cheaper.
* The size of this cover is fine. I have a Vauxhall Insignia and it covers my windscreen very easily, so I wouldn’t imagine there being an issue with many road vehicles, if any at all.
* The materials used for this windscreen cover mean that it will not only be suitable for keeping the ice at bay during the winter months, but it will also help to keep the car interior cool during the summer months.
* The cover is thick enough to provide adequate insulation, but not so dense that it becomes awkward to fold up and stow away when not in use, which is ideal. It also comes with its own bag for storage.
* The cover has wing flaps on each side that are designed to tuck inside the front doors, so that the cover doesn’t simply blow away in the wind.
* However, where this cover fails to match up to the one from Mengine is that is does not have little magnets around its periphery tio help to hold the cover down. Nor does it have additional side flaps to cover and protect the wing mirrors from frost, as well as further securing the cover in place.
I think it is likely that I will use this cover as a secondary one to place over my rear window, with my preferred Mengine cover being used for the windscreen.
I hope you find these comments helpful.
We haven’t had chance to test this out in extremely cold weather yet due to it still being quite mild and wet! However we do have one similar to this which cost roughly the same and it feels almost identical for the car and that one preforms exceptionally well so I would like to assume this one won’t be any different! It does fit the van window which will help in a cold morning not having to scrape it clear!! These are definitely a must in winter if your not posh enough for a heated windscreen! Good product and good price
