This is absolutely the perfect gift set for the whiskey lovers.Packaged in an exquisite gift box, our kit is a thoughtful present for anyone who enjoys a good drink. This kit includes 4 wood chips along with a whiskey smoker. We can really have the smoke aroma in the drink and can experience a different taste.
It doesn’t provide any instructions to use, hence gave 4 stars.

Love coctails with smoky taste and was happy to find such interesting kit. Never saw before anything similar. First of all box looks great as a gift. There are 4 different wood chips, small beech wood chimney, brush for cleaning and elegant little shovel. Everything look so nice. So the bad thing it doesn’t have any instruction, but I found some in youtube. Overall it is really great to try, specially when you have some party at home. The wood chips smell quite strong, but very nice. All have different aroma. I think price is great and I want to buy one more for a gift to my friend as a birthday present. Highly recommend it.

Nice little starter kit, you get the smoker and 4 little sample pots of wood chips. Thr smoker is a good size to fit in most glasses and it comes with a wire brush to clean out the burner afterwards. You do need one of the blow torch lighters, much quicker than a regular lighter (and you dont burn your fingers!). Even if you are not keen on whiskey, you can use this to smoke cheese (tried with cubes in a large glass and it worked. Each wood chip has their own flavour- walnut was my preferred one. The kit is well made and presented nicely in a gift box…does have a thank you postcard inside so you may want to remove.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT GIFT FOR THE PERSON WHO HAS EVERYTHING!

This product is very well presented in its box and looks expensive and of a high quality.

    The negative – ish bit

My first problem was finding a glass within our drinks glass cupboard that this would fit into. As it happened, amongst a dozen or so glasses, some of which are crystal whisky tumblers, only one would fit, so check yours, the dimensions are given on the listing page.
The next issue was exactly how to use it. Yes you do need a flame source, and we simply used our kitchen blow torch which is used for creme brulee etc, and this works a treat.
You should maintain your attention whilst setting the wood chips alight, as if you allow the flame to stray, it will singe the attractive beech wood holder.
Then you have to decide how long to leave the smoke on whatever you are ‘smoking’. There are no instructions, and the listing page simply says to ‘wait a few seconds until the glass fills with smoke and then remove’. For this you really do not want to add too many wood chips as these will keep burning – and smoking – which is fine if you have a few more drinks to ‘smoke’, but becomes a bit of a problem as we ended up taking it outdoors until the wood had fully burnt out, meaning the smoke had stopped.
Quite how you use this product on cheese or meat I am unsure, again instructions would help here.

    The positive bit

So, that all sound like a lot of negatives, which I guess they are, but I have to say, once you try the different woods on (in my case) a whisky, they really do make a difference to the flavour, and the aroma of the smoke is actually a very pleasant one. I am a casual woodturner and therefore will have a good source of wood chips at my disposal, but if you are able to get out and about, and notice some tree’s being felled, then as long as you check they are not of a resinous nature, this could provide you with a source for future use (provided you dry them first), although to get a good variety you may need to shop on line or in store.
As already said, it is attractively presented and the general quality is very good

I hope this helps in your decision making, I would consider buying this as a gift for a good friend who would enjoy such a product, and make use of it. I will certainly continue to experime

I chose this kit, as recently I tasted a ‘Smoked’ cocktail and was intrigued as to how this could be done. When I saw tis kit I HAD to get it!!
It is a lovely smoker kit that is beautifully presented in a box (should you choose to give it as a gift). It came with the four different, fragrant wood chips, a cute little shovel, small, stiff, wire brush to help with cleaning and the Beech wood chimney.
The wood chips don’t smell particularly strong in the tin, but once lit, the smell did get stronger and you could tell the difference between them.
It does not come with any instructions, but after watching several tutorial videos online, I just had a go.
I was lots of fun when the family came home for a get together and we used it to try and recreate the smoked cocktails.
Great value for money, as the kit comes with so much. It is worth the 21.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Smoker Kit.

It’s a nice gift set for whiskey lovers.
Very well packed, four different types of wood chips and a whiskey smoker pot.
It’s missing the instructions how to use it.
We found how to use it by YouTube videos.
You set the strainer with the chips you want, burnt it with lid on, and the smokes will start coming out of the bottom, down to the whisk glass.
The smoking taste is great. Definitely a great experience for who loves drinking whisk.

Got this to add a little ‘something’ to my weekend posh drink time!

This set is dead easy to use. You simply put the wooden smoker on top of your glass, choose your flavour of chip (out of a selection of 4), scoop it into the smoker with the little spade (cute!) and then burn it with a creme brle style burner gun. Then put the lid on and watch in amazement as your glass fills with smoke.

Not only does this add a nice smokey taste to your drink, but it looks absolutely awesome! I surprised a friend with a drink full of smoke and it blew his mind! It just looks so cool!

I would recommend leaving the smoker on for around a minute to allow the smoke to collect and add the flavour to your drink. My favourite is the Oak chips.

It’s worth noting that this set doesn’t come with the burner so if you’re going to get one as a gift for a friend, pick the pack that comes with the burner also.

Overall, I’m really pleased with this smoker. It adds that special something to your drink and is amazing when you present someone with a smoked drink! Totally worth it and would make an amazing gift!

I’ve wanted one of these for a while as I used to love a smoky old fashioned when I was younger! This kit comes with almost everything you need (I definitely recommend the “with torch” option) – although if you already have a kitchen blowtorch then you will be fine with this kit.

Fortunately I already had one at home so I was quickly able to have a first stab at making some smoky drinks. My initial trial wasn’t great but after I got the hang of the smoker and how much / how long to smoke it for, I managed to get some lovely things going with it.

Really pleased and a good quality kit. Thank you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely! Make sure you have a blowtorch!

What a great gift this is! All nicely packed in a substantial box, it has a good, quality feel to it. I’d be very happy giving or receiving this!
We’ve had smoked whisky in restaurants, with meals, before, so the chance to try it at home with a few friends couldn’t be passed up. The kit is beautifully presented, and the individual items such as the wooden shavings holder and the canisters, all feel well made and substantial.
And it really does work great! After the first try, we left the smoking device on the drink for anything up to a minute, as we’d been told to do at the restaurants we’d tried this at, to get that true smokey flavour.
I do wish that it had more of the wood shavings included, as we got through most of those included in a single dinner party, and now I really want to try it on cheese!

I should mention that there are two versions of this; one with the chef’s lighter and one without. If you already love your creme bruls, you probably have a kitchen torch, but if not, make sure you get the kit that has one included, as you need a proper blowtorches’ power to set the the shavings alight and start the smoking process.

But all in all this is a great gift, and a fab little activity to engage everyone in, at the and of a dinner party. Heartily recommended!

These are so fun and great for gifting or wowing your friends. And it does actually add ‘something’ to your drinks, particularly a nice whiskey. I’m loving trying out the different wood ‘flavours’, and fun to try out with all kinds of drinks… I didn’t expect to like using it with my Gin, but I do!

I got these as I am an avid whiskey drinker and cigar smoker. I have always liked the smokey flavours I have gotten from going to high end bars and decided to give this a try to see if I could do it myself.

I have tried the cherry and walnut on two old fashion’ds and it improved the overall drinking experience and flavour of the drinks.

The gift set is really nicely laid out in a presentation box. The lid piece is made of solid wood and is well finished. The metal craddle where you burn the different wood chips is well shaped. There is enough space to really get in there with a blow torch, plus it does protect the wood surrounding it nicely.

The wood chip that is provided gives off a really good amount of smoke. However I did find that adding a little water to them gave them a better overall scent and smoke output. I also found that if you leave the smoke for around 30 seconds to a minute, you do get a much more intense smokey flavour on the drink compared to the few seconds they recommended.

If you are looking for a gift for a whiskey lover or just looking to take your drinks to the next level, I can highly recommend this set!

This is an interesting kit, it consists of a beech pot with a metal strainer type insert. The material to be burnt to provde the smoke is put in the strainer and set alight and the lid put on, the smoke comes out the bottom of the pot into the cocktail glass below.

All I have said above is how to use the kit but there are absolutely no instructions included with it which is very unhelpful. These should be provided instead of the thank you card.

The kit comes with four different types of wood chips and you can try others and dried herbs, dried rosemary works well.

To get the wood to burn you need a mini blowtorch or a specialist lighter, a normal lighter or matches do not work well.
