Solid, has a nice feel/weight to it, 5 light modes, the brightest is like a 60w/100w bulb, finding that brightest setting took a few presses of the button. Puts my old Maglight in the shade. The market has plenty of these made in China, look for ones with 5 light modes & branded, names have no meaning, look for wide opening, with white/silver base in the head where the bulb sits, which has a wider opening, see picture, right hand side, looking down in the head of the torch.
I have an antique wall clock and as I prefer sitting in a darkened room the spotlight function of this great little torch is perfect for reading the time etc….
Great set of torches for the price, very bright can use to pinpoint and a flashing beacon for distress. Nice and weighty in the hand and a little strip to attach to bags.
These amazing little torches are really well made I just used one when I put my hens to bed they take 3 AAA batteries which are not included but they are really fantastic value and were delivered really quickly
They are brilliant for getting your bearing when waking in very dark night. but behave as though bulb is failing, then seem okay when warming up.
there is no way of measuring battery life, so the pack of two is ideal.
Dear seller – can we buy replacement bulbs?
I use a torch when taking my dog for a walk during the dark winter mornings and evenings. My old faithful rubber torch had conked out, so I needed a replacement. These torches do the job and work well with aaa rechargeable batteries, but there is an option to use 18650 battery if so desired. For the price, these are a good buy and provide a nice bright light. See below for my opinion of the pros and cons.
Cons:
1. heavier than I expected
2. hand strap too small – will only go over my fingers (ladies hand) and because the torch is made from aluminium, the torch feels as though it will slip out of my hand especially in the rain
3. you have to select the mode that you want each time – doesn’t remember which mode you used last time, so a nuisance when you only use one mode
4. Scalloped edges around the top of the torch feel a bit sharp in places
Pros:
1. good price
2. choice of 2 battery sizes
3. has more than one mode
4. much brighter and wider light than my old 9 led torch
5. fits in pocke
It is bright, it has zoom, so you can spread the light or keep the beam narrow. When fully extended for the narrowest beam, you can clearly see the LED element square shape with small dots – problem? you can live with it. You can change between modes by light press on the switch button.
Battery life – I can’t rate that as it has too many factors (i.e. – length of constant use, brightness used, batteries quality) and it needs time before you can tell.
The set comes without batteries! This is mentioned by the seller, but there are other offers of the same sets with batteries and to my disappointment at the same price.
It comes with a , hmm sheet of paper, not even a user manual but something related to charging re-chargeable batteries and operation instruction for chargeable lithium battery. The funny thing there is a paragraph about shifting gears (you may get from it that modes are changed by light presses on the switch), and also there are two plastic tubes, fitting nicely on their own inside the battery compartment but their purpose is unknown to me. Is it for lithium battery?
Anyway, it is small and lightweight enough, so good for camping, on the boat or for a motorcycle trip.
