Bought this for our 5 year old. He got to grips with the control really quickly and loves it. It’s pretty fast and although the outer body seems to be like only flimsy plastic, it seems to cope well with a bit of rough and tumble.
The only complaint is that it is a bit fiddly to recharge the battery on the car but we would definitely buy again.
I brought this car for my son last Christmas the battery lasted about 3charging and a bought another battery which only lasted 2 charging really!! I don’t think that is good
Great product for a child, goes pretty well for its price and not bad quality either. It’s speed is pretty much matched for its ruggedness as not to damage it should a crash happen.
Awesome that it comes with two rechargeable batteries and never have to wait for it recharge before using it. Just swap out the batteries! The remote takes two AA batteries (I use my own rechargeable batteries so they can be swapped out easily too). Its a rugged toy that has good speed and goes over bumps and small obstacles easily. Has movement forward, backward, left, and right. Remote can be a little tricky to get used to but once you learn how to control it, it really is a fun RC car!
simple easy to use remote control car , not for serious users but junior was very happy with it and he has not managed to bust it yet so it must be OK
One more car in our collection. Children are happy. Good quality car, nice bright green colour. Easy to control. My kids playing inside but definitely would be better play outside as car has high speed. Recommend.
Son has been using it for the last two weeks and he absolutely loves it. I had a few goes on it, very sturdy, goes over obstacles ciles really well and drives pretty fast.
So, I got this for my 4 year old son, who’s been scooting a lightning mcqueen toy round inside the house for a while now, and is now more interested in taking it outside; enter this model.
It’s pretty big for a toy, the picture shows it next to my 1/18 Ftx colt.
It’s quite light, as you’d expect as it’s a kids toy rather than an entry level rc car. The front bumper does a good job of preventing too much damage when it’s sent steaming into a wall or something.
In fact, despite the fact it feels a bit flimsy, it seems to take knocks and bashes very well. The only thing I did notice is the battery cover came off, but only a couple of times. I hadn’t bothered putting the securing screw back in, as it feels like it just clips tightly in place without it, but may put it back in of it my boy keeps stacking it!
Remote handset was a concern, as the steering wheel feels very wobbly straight out the box, howveryits survived its first outing, so maybe it feels worse than it is.
Also bearing in mind this is a kids toy, the handset is pretty big, and feels the same (size wise, quality) as my one…. and I have big hands. My lad is pretty big and has big hands for his age, and whilst he can pull the trigger to accelerate, he can’t push it forward with his same left hand to reverse. He has to take his right hand off the wheel to help out.
Probably worth pointing out that this car has, as I would imagine most other toys at this price point, no variable controls. Ie: its either forward or backward full speed, and steering is not graduated, again its a wheel that just activates 2 switches, so steering is either full lock left or right. As I said, to be expected for what it is.
Read lots of grumbling about the battery. I don’t know what type it is, as there’s no markings, however what I will say is it lasts ages and only takes about 2 hours to charge. Bearing in mind this got opened and started being used at about 2:30pm, hasn’t really been put down for any great length of time and it’s now 4:30, and still has no signs of running out of juice. So I’m very impressed to be fair. My Ftx (which is 4wd and has a much more powerful motor of course, as well as more power hungry electrics) only lasts about 30 mins.
It’s also fairly rapid for a kids toy, so you’ll need a big room if you’re planning on using it indoors. As you’d expect, it’s quicker on smooth surfaces outside such as tarmac or pavements, but it’s also got enough grunt to whizz around lawn, gravel, etc without too much trouble and at a respectable pace.
We’ve been jumping it off kerbs and decking (about the same kind of height) with no trouble at all.
All in all, without having had it more than an afternoon, I think it’s pretty good for the money. Battery has great life, it seems to be able to take punishment only child drivers can dish out, and looks pretty cool too.
I’d recommend it.
My grandson is 5 and he absolutely loves this remote control car. We previously purchased a different one from a shop locally and it was naff 🙂 compared to this wonderful item. It’s controller is easy to use and the speed is brilliant – it’s drivable over any surface – our back lane is very bumpy and it drove with ease down it.
Defo a good purchase
My 3 yr old love it, super solid, he was able stand on it and it’s still working fine, the battery life is not that good but I have upgraded it with 18650 cells.
Wasn’t sure how good this would be for the price but it’s great and my little boy loves it! He’s played with it daily since he opened in on christmas.
Bought this for my grandsons 10th birthday has phoned me to thank me for it says its really cool has only got to use it in doors as its raining, but he said he is well pleased with it.
Great little car. However, the only problem I have with it is one has to unscrew the battery cover everytime it needs charging get to the lead. I have left it dangling out but I am slightly worried the water/dirt etc. will ruin the connection.
And I feel that the full lock on the steering could be a little ‘tighter’ more degrees to get round tight corners. But that’s not really an issue.
Great toy car. The batteries that go in the car are rechargeable but the ones that go into the controller are not. Which wpuld have been great but no toy seems to do this. It is great and pretty fast. It can easily go over gravel and small obsticals, toes seem to be the best one it likes to go over.
Its easy to control and is nice and responsive to the controller.
