Bought the 7-piece set just over a year ago and they were indeed upgrades to the pans we have been using in the past. They are heavy, sturdy, and we have no complaints on build quality.
The large pan (most frequently used) started to lose its coating within this first year of using. This was unexpected. Once it started losing the coating, after washing you can still see other, smaller pieces of coating coming loose.
It is great not having to really worry about using only specific utensils, I want to point out that these pans in a few months do show impact of usage on the coating in the pan.
Die Pfanne sind einfach super und halt das was sie versprechen. Einfach ein geiles Produkt. Sehr zu empfehlen (von denen Pfannen die ich bekommen habe).Ich hatte vorher andere bestellt gehabt die waren absoluter Mll.
I’ve been using the Hexclad Cookware Set for almost a year now, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations in every way. The set has been put to the test several times a week, and it has stood up to the challenge remarkably well.
The standout piece for me has been the wok. It’s a joy to use, providing excellent heat distribution and a non-stick surface that makes cooking a breeze. Whether I’m stir-frying vegetables or searing meat, the wok delivers consistently impressive results.
As for the pans, they are nothing short of indestructible. Despite regular use and even scouring, they show no discernable scratches. The durability of this cookware set is truly commendable. It’s clear that Hexclad has invested in quality materials and manufacturing processes to ensure these pans can withstand the rigors of a busy kitchen.
But it’s not just about durability. The non-stick capability of these pans is as good, if not better, than the first day I used them. Food slides off easily, making both cooking and cleanup effortless. Plus, their cooking performance remains unmatched. They heat up evenly and retain heat well, ensuring your food is cooked perfectly every time.
I’ve seen negative reviews for this because the marketing about it being a non stick pan is a little exaggerated. These are great pans to use but treat them like very high quality steel pans. Season them (MUCH easier than steel) Heat them first with oil or ghee. When they are hot leave the meat to brown on one side first and then turn. They are much more resilient than non stick plans and stay looking great but don’t expect them to work like a pure non stick pan. These cook the food much better (IMHO) and browning meat or cooking vegetables etc is much better than non stick. My other pans don’t get used much any more!!
Best pans ive used to date. Great heat distribution, clean up easy, love that I can use metal utensils like a whisk or spoon in pans again. They look fantastic to top it all off.
hese pans are wonderful. they do take a little extra care compared to traditional non-stick but less effort than with stainless steel pans. i loved my stainless steel pans but my hubby could never cook with them without everything sticking. He didn’t have the patience to season the pans correctly. these are what they say they are… a hybrid. you do need to use a slight bit of oil/butter but they clean up like a dream. If you get crusties, as I like to call them, it’s just a matter of a few minute soak and everything releases. I never have to scrub like I did with my stainless steel. I never wanted to spend this much on a pan set. My husband did the research and convinced me the expense was worth it. So far, I have to agree. We’ve had them for three months and I love them. In a year, when most expensive non-stick pans start to wear out, I will update this review.
I generally spend a fair amount of time researching products; reading the product description and various reviews. Based on some of the Amazon reviews, I began having second thoughts
I’m glad I ignored some of the negative comments. The 7-piece set comes with a specific set of instructions to wash the pans thoroughly with soap and water, and gently season them with a bit of oil for 2-3 minutes on medium heat. I followed the instructions and I couldn’t be happier.
Keep in mind Hexclad is NOT billed as non-stick. It’s a hybrid pan that you can use in the oven/ stovetop, use metal utensils with and still have some of the benefits of typical non-stick cookware. Much easier than high-end carbon steel pans with less upkeep.
Cons:
A bit heavy.
Pros:
Heats very evenly.
Fairly inexpensive for this level of performance.
With a small amount of oil/ fat in the pan, these are absolutely amazing/ and have some of the properties of non-stick cookware.
Beautiful
Sears well
So far I’ve used the 8″, 10-12″ pans multiple times. I can’t recommend this set enough.
Buy it.
Only had these pans a few days and was dubious at the large price tag. At the moment they are performing better than any of the pans I have bought in years.
They are beautiful, heavy duty pans but they do not have a non-stick surface. I cook eggs everyday and it does not matter how much oil I use in the pan, the egg will stick to the surface. It makes a runny yolk difficult to get. That said, it cleans up easily with the stuck part of the egg wiped away without issue. I think the problem lies in the hexagonal nature of the pan surface, too many places for food to stick while cooking. Also, pay attention to their warning about cooking at lower than usual temperatures. These pans heat up quickly and evenly, which is great, but if you normally cook at medium heat, dial it down a notch or two. I love the pans, even with the quirks. Buy them but know the flaws.
I read a lot of the reviews and was hesitant about spending the money to buy these. So happy I did. I cook every night and although I am not a chef, I consider myself pretty knowledgeable in the art of cooking. I have All-Clad pots and pans and was not happy with the way the cook food. Your fat ran to the edges because the center was not flush and browning food made me rotate the food to try to get an even browning. That was not the case with these. You need to start with a hot pan, then fat, then food. These pans cooked food evenly and the fat stayed throughout the pan without running to the sides. Be sure to season them as per instructions. They do get even better over time. I sprayed Pam in my 8inch pan the first time I used it to cook eggs and the egg slide right off when done. Cleaning up the pan has never been easier on top of all these positive attributes. Highly recommend them and I’m going to buy the other set as well as a result.
Have had these for a month now. Over the years I have used various types of non stick, steel, and cast iron pans but these so far have been my favorite. I seasoned the pan as instructed and have boiled, fried, and sauted with it. First time I used it I burned some basil and cheese on the pan to the point where it was scorched. Once I put it under the sink with soap the grease and char scraped right off and I was able to clean it to new condition. Looked like I didn’t even burn anything on it. What I also love about these is how evenly heat is distributed. I’ve noticed a huge increase in the quality of the food I cook because of this. No more having that one sweet spot on your pan. I fried chicken parmesian in a pan and all of the chicken in the pan was not only cooked thoroughly at all spots in the pan but it was cooked quicker. Highly recommend these pans especially with the lifetime warranty. Not sure what other people are doing to these pans that may be rating them as low as one star. But I have had no issues. Everything has been as advertised which is rare.
So far I’m in love. I have gone through all the most expensive nonstick cookware and nothing has lasted. Le Cruset, Stabb. One just doesn’t feel non stick the Stabb and the Lecruset started to get brown and nasty and rusty over time even though they say lifetime. I only use silicone utensils and still issues. Now these Hexclad. Got them seasoned them briefly and started cooking and I love they way they cook. Less heat needed, you can tell it really does let you use any utensils metal even, and its non stick is great and clean up is so easy. I’m keeping my durability at 4 stars until I see how they hold up. The pans are very nice looking as well. Browning and searing is great too. Cant wait to try with our new induction stove top when we get it in. Hopefully they will have pots to match soon. Hoping these pans are around for a long time. Also Hexclad please come out with a high sided saute pan. The wok is great but need a flat bottom pan with high sides.
8/4/19Update:
These pans are holding up very nicely. If you start to get any discoloration on the inside or bottoms just use a little bar keepers friend and they are like new again. Really happy with the cook with these pans. Give you a great seat without burning and with a nice non stick feel. So far I’m in love with these pans and can’t wait for sauce pans to match!
