Very good at protecting from frost and harsh weathers. I would recommend to keep all your nice plants in the garden. Good size for my tall palm trees but just need some bungee ropes and tent pegs to hold down the fleeces for the palms.
This Garden plant fleece has been an excellent ally for gardeners looking to protect their plants from the harshness of frost, wind, and even pests.
The material is lightweight yet durable, allowing for easy handling and cutting to suit various plant sizes and shapes. Its permeability is a significant advantage; water and light can reach the plants, ensuring they continue to grow without the risk of rot or mildew that can come with less breathable covers. Additionally, the fleece’s insulating properties create a microclimate that retains warmth, which is especially beneficial during unpredictable cold snaps. Its utility is not just limited to the cold months; it’s also useful for shielding tender plants from the scorching sun.
Installation was a breeze, and the fleece can be reused across seasons, making it both an economical and environmentally friendly choice for conscientious gardeners.
This is, pretty much, standard plant fleece. It isn’t the thickest, but it is what it is. In the packet you get 10metres in length. It is 2.5m wide. It is 50gsm in weight / thickness. It’s hard to comment on how well this keeps plants warm over the winter months. We’re just coming into autumn now, so time will tell as to how effective it is. I intend to use this on the top of my raised beds over the winter to cover them and to, hopefully, suppress the weeds a bit. I’m also hoping that it will stop the neighbourhood cats from using the raised beds as a toilet! So far, it seems to be doing the job at covering the raised beds.
