Love this unit and glad I bought it. It makes my iPods classics 1st generation and my other iPods come to life without having my old earbud with wires in the way. It also lets me easily connect to my other units without restarting my earbuds. It also lets me connect to my house WiFi to listen to other speakers. I also like the way it plugs into my iPods and rotates 90 degrees that others do not. I can put my iPod in my pocket without it sticking straight out.

I used this for my classic ipod, the kind that is meant to play through either a headset or earplugs. Because my ipod has no speakers, I bought this transmitter so the music in my ipod can be played on bluetooth speakers. The instructions of this transmitter are easy to understand. It works beautifully! Thankfully, the radio with bluetooth speakers that I bought from Amazon recently receives the music perfectly, I do not need to separately look for bluetooth speakers.

This thing works as advertised and connects my iPod classic 5th gen to my AirPod pro 2. By default, mine came in TX mode which was what I was looking for. After charging for about 2 hrs I have been using for several hrs across my AirPods, and JBL flip 6. Side not Ford Sync systems will recognize but will not connect, this is a sync issue and not this transmitters fault. I had the same issue with another transmitter and after research discovered that connection with sync radios isn’t supported unless it’s a phone.

Soooo much better than the bluetooth transmitters I tried on my old iPods that connected to the power port on the iPods. Plus it leaves the power port open for charging without having to remove the bluetooth function. It is smaller than it looks in the pictures and the fact that it can lie flat along the top of my iPod(s) with the flexlble connector is a huge bonus!

The sound is much clearer than the power port bluetooth transmitters I tried and it functions easily and perfectly with a variety of bluetooth headsets. Highly recommend if you want to turn your early model iPods into ones capable of connecting to wireless headsets.

Although I haven’t tried it, this device is also a bluetooth receiver capable of turning legacy audio speakers, that have the audio port available, into bluetooth speakers for hooking your phone’s music to larger speakers wirelessly using the bluetooth function.

I wasn’t even aware of things like this until seeing this gadget, what a great little idea and allows me to bring older non-bluetooth devices bang up to date.

I do find bluetooth pairing a pain at the best of times, and that goes for any modern device as well, no exception here as it took me far more fiddling than I would have liked, but that is probably more down to me than the unit or instructions which to be honest are pretty well laid out in the included manual sheet.

Once paired I found it worked really well and gave a reliable connection, no dropouts as yet. I use it mainly to connect to my good old boombox headphone socket, with that I can sit back and listen to my cassettes late into the evening through my bluetooth headphones so no longer have to be restricted to one spot, perfect.

I have also tried it connected to a small speaker audio input and it worked well in allowing my phone to broadcast to the previously non-bluetooth speaker just fine, so has many potential purposes.

Nifty little device and I would say well worth the just over 25(at time of review) price tag if you have use for it.

So far, I am happy to own it. Impressive idea to have a Bluetooth transmitter for plane or home use. It an even make TV Bluetooth enabled. It is small in size, and the built quality is good. Lightweight and easy to carry around when traveling.

I have not tested yet in flight though worked well on my PC. The sound quality was good.

Arrived well-packaged as shown in the attached photos.
The price is slightly expensive in my opinion. Will recommend.

Great little device that is worth keeping on you just in case you find yourself in a situation where you need to connect to a non-bluetooth device. Easy to connect and small enough to keep un a wallet. The only issue I have with this is in terms of design; its a real pity that the jack doesn’t fold away into the device (or have a cap on it) – it makes what could be a perfect gadget, well…less perfec

I own other audio transmitters/receivers and this is by far the smallest one out of all of them

Initial charge took around 1.5 hours. After turning the device on, it immediately started in transmitter mode and went into pairing mode. The device was recognized after a few seconds of it

Switching between modes is very simple and straightforward. Inserting this as a receiver into an old but great sounding speaker which revived the speaker and is now out of storage and in my room to be used whenever i wa

The unit comprises a stereo 3.5mm jack (left, right, common) on a flexible stalk on a Bluetooth transceiver. It is compact: about the size of a car key. The transceiver has 3 buttons: a round Multi Function Button (MFB), and two triangular buttons. An LED indicator light shines blue for receive and white for transmit. There is also a USB C socket for charging, and the unit comes with a short USB A to USB C charging lead (but not a charging unit).

After charging, I turned the unit on by depressing the MFB for 3 seconds. The LED shone blue, as I think the unit defaults to receive. I plugged the 3.5mm jack into an Aux input in my car, and my phone linked to it on Bluetooth, and played music through the car system as intended.

Later, wanting to watch television without disturbing others, I plugged the unit into the headphone socket on the TV. I pressed the two triangular buttons simultaneously, and the unit switched to transmit as shown by a white light. I could then link to my Bluetooth headphones to listen the TV sound.

Do read the instructions! On this occasion everything is not obvious/intuitive. The (well written) instructions say one can link two devices e.g. pairs of headphones for 2 people listening to the same source, but I haven’t tried this.

A useful and compact Bluetooth transceiver, but do check out how to use it properly. I recommend it for its compact size and functionality.

I used this for connecting speakers to my LG TV so i can have surround sound. It works well but on some different makes of speakers it echoes a bit. LG TVs do recommend Sony speakers though.

It’s small and I love the feature of the flexible Jack. Great value and works well with most of my speakers.

What a great little device! There’s been so many times in the past I’ve not been able to connect to certain audio outputs with my headphones when it would have been ideal to do so, and these provide a perfect solution. One example in my everyday life is my gym that has these displays on their treadmills, and I can never listen to the new whilst doing cardio usually, but with this I just pop it and listen via my Airpods.

For the price it would have been nice for it to have included a case to protect it from travelling (I slightly worry about how the audio jack will fare), but so far that is my only quibble and so far, it has not proven to be an issue.

This a compact Bluetooth transmitter and receiver which does exactly what it says. When first switching on, it immediately went into transmitter mode with the white light flashing ready for pairing. I managed to immediately pair it with my portable Bluetooth speaker, and inserted the unit into the headphone socket in my TV. Selecting one of the music Apps I was able to get sound into the speaker and the sound quality was fine.

I then unpaired the speaker, and removed the unit from the TV. Pressing the up/down buttons then changed it Rx mode with the blue light flashing ready for pairing which I did to my Sony Xperia phone. I then plugged the unit into my stereo amplifier using a 3.5mm socket to two phono plugs. Selecting the appropriate input on my amp, and music from the phone, I got an immediate response although at somewhat loud volume, but when adjusted to the correct level the sound output was brilliant.

So overall this unit works great in both modes and is just what I wanted to connect my devices which don’t have Bluetooth built in. Compared to many on the market I would consider this to be good value for money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well in both Tx and Rx modes

This is a great little Bluetooth adapter. It does require a little care while setting up and reading the instructions is essential but overall it is very simple to use. The bonus here is that it may be configured either as a Bluetooth transmitter or as a receiver. I have tried both but have spent more time with it in receiver mode.

First up I tried using it as a transmitter. That is the default mode anyway. I plugged it into the headphone socket on my tablet and connected to my Marantz mini system that I have in my office. The sound is very spacious and clean. There is little sign of harshness or splash in the treble and the sound is well extended. There is plenty of deep bass and the midrange is sweet. As with all these devices it is necessary to jack up the volume because the output signal is fairly low. It is possible to adjust the volume on the adapter and I did that but then there is a balance to be struck. If the adapter’s volume is put up too high the sound can become hard and tends towards distortion. Back it off a bit and then up the volume on my player and a perfect compromise is reached. As a word of warning do not for get to reduce the player’s volume again before you switch back to another source or you may damage your speakers. For example, I play the radio on my Marantz at between 4-6 on the volume scale. I turned it up to 25-30 for the adapter. At that volume, with the radio, speaker protection would cut in but ideally one does not want that to happen.

It is a similar story in receiver mode. Switching between modes is covered in the instructions but for completeness here press and hold the buttons labelled as 4 and 5, (the two triangular buttons either side of the power button). The sound is again full and clean. I enjoyed running though my test tracks. I used Amazon music streamed via my Dell desktop computer for the source and my Marantz again as the player via its 3.5mm Aux in socket. I would be very happy with the sound created and have just left the adapter plugged in to my Marantz for the next time I want to listen.

This a neat package. The 3.5mm plug is gold plated and the casing is mainly metal with just a little plastic. It uses the superior USB C type socket for charging and an appropriate lead is included along with those instructions. The edges are rounded and it looks the business. Couple that with excellent performance in either main mode and you have a compelling package. I think the price is very reasonable on a bangs for bucks basis and I would be happy to recommend this adapter.

This adapter comes in handy to be able to use your wireless earbuds for devices that usually require a wired connection.

It plugs straight in to any aux port, allowing you to connect via Bluetooth to start listening to audio.

I’ve found the sound so far to be clear without any drops in signal and you’re able to control tracks and the volume level from the buttons on the adapter.

It’s also small and lightweight, making it easy to take out as and when needed.

All in all, it’s a handy adapter.

I got this to convert a guitar amplifier to a bluetooth speaker using the aux input, allowing me to play along with streaming tracks. It took a while to get my ipad to recognise the dongle in receiver mode (I had to perform a factory reset) but after that it has functioned perfectly, without a single glitch in performance – which is frankly better than my Apple HomePod can manage! A very useful device that takes up no space at all, solidly built and easy to use. Well recommended, and I suspect it may become indispensable as I find new ways to use all the transmit/receive options.

I’ve connected this to the aux input on an old mini-hifi system that had a great sound but no bluetooth connectivity. It works great. Connection to my mobile phone was easily achieved by going through the fairly standard pairing protocol. Once this was achieved, it was just a case of streaming my music to the hifi, and it sounded great! There are buttons on the device to enable volume control and changing tracks, but I didn’t need to use these as I was able to control everything from my phone. To test the transmission (TX) capability I connected the device to the headphone output on my campervan TV. The device was then paired with a bluetooth speaker. Again, pairing was seemless and allowed the better sound from my bluetooth speaker to be used. There were no irritating latency issues, the sound matching the movements on screen.

For various audio projects I’ve bought and experimented with many different Bluetooth audio modules/boards; so I’ve experienced some of the worst and best available.

The Air99 is definitely one of the better ones.

First impressions; really impressed with the build quality. The Aluminium outer shell feels great and is finished well. The rotating 3.5mm TRS feels very solid; no wobble whatsoever. The supplied USB cable is fine; nothing special.

There is a detailed manual provided.

It’s a very compact device that somehow also contains a tiny battery; though I always use these things while plugged into a power source (which this supports just fine). The manual claims a 2.5 hour charging time for the 180mAh battery, which doesn’t sound right; that would be a very slow charge.

In case you’re curious; no, it is not recognized as an audio device by my computer (even when using a proper data cable), so the USB-C port appears to be for charging only.

Initially I couldn’t see the AIR99 on my phone (Galaxy Fold 3) when scanning for Bluetooth devices, despite it being in pairing mode when powered. Switching operation modes by holding the two arrow buttons allowed it to be seen and paired, so it probably first turned-on in TX mode.

I’ve since discovered through experimentation that it seems to remember the last RX/TX mode you were in when you turned it off; however you should be aware that it will not automatically turn on when power is applied to the USB port, which is not ideal for in-car use.

The Air99 is really designed to be plugged into an amplifier (in RX mode) or audio source (in TX mode); but to evaluate the audio quality I directly connected some Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro headphones (and later the Audeze LCD2-C) with the Air99 in receiver/RX mode. I did not test transmitter mode.

I have my phone running in developer mode, so I can switch between codecs to compare them. SBC, AAC and AptX were all reported as supported (max 44.1kHz). When selecting ‘HD Audio’, the phone switched to the AptX codec automatically.

First point of note; no background hiss whatsoever. Many Bluetooth receivers have abysmal noise floors; but this is excellent.

Next welcome observation; no obnoxious voice prompts! Many, many Bluetooth modules/receivers/speakers have awful (badly translated, mispronounced, or simply wrong-language) voice acknowledgments of button presses (e.g. ‘Entering Pairing…’, etc); but this has none of that. Just beeps; and beeps that aren’t overly loud. Great stuff.

The device controls work well; long press on the arrows for track navigation, short press for volume. The device buttons adjust the phone volume (not all receivers do this, having separate volume control). This does mean volume adjustment is quite coarse, with 16-steps (enforced by Android).

For my preferred listening volume, I had to go to 75% with the DT 1990 Pro and a step lower for the LCD2-C.

Interestingly on the 70Ohm LCD2-C, I noticed distinctly increased sub-bass response compared to my reference (RME ADI-2); suggesting there is either an EQ being applied by the Air99, or the output impedance of the Air99 is quite high and boosting the bass as a side effect. Since I didn’t notice this on the DT 1990 Pro (which is 250Ohm), my guess would be the latter.

General audio quality is very good to my ears when using the AptX codec. All codecs struggled with more complex sections of certain tracks, losing some detail; but no device you’re going to be realistically connecting this to will be resolving enough for this to be a problem.

In short, this is a good quality device that appears to have been made by people that knew what they were doing and, importantly, cared about what they were making.

Apologies for the photos; taking pictures of something this small without also capturing bits of lint is challenging.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well Made, No Background Hiss, Great Audio, No Annoying Voice Prompts, Possibly High Impedance?

It did not specify the Bluetooth version in the marketing, but the Bluetooth version of the product I received is 5.2. The adapter maintains a stable connection in both transmit and receive modes. Instructions are in clear English and very easy to understand. The adapter is only slightly larger than a thumb drive, so is very portable. I am pleased with the sound quality. The adapter operates wirelessly. It comes with a short USB B

This is a nifty piece of tech.

My house, I’d say is half and half, as in I have some older good quality tech which I’d rather not replace and some much more up to date stuff which has Bluetooth.

This 2 in 1 transmitter and receiver allows me to connect a non Bluetooth device to my phone or other Bluetooth enabled device, and allows me to stream from it.
It’s ideal for use with older TVs, home cinema and projectors or in flight entertainment systems for example.

It allows me to enjoy high quality wireless audio streaming, from my gaming console to my wireless headphones for example, and so far it’s been lag free and the connection has been stable.

It’s sleek, lightweight and portable. It’s simple to pair and use and it’s a very practical solution.

In my opinion the price is fair, it works perfectly and saves the faff of cables.

I hope you find my review helpful.

I struggled with this one a bit.

At time of review, this retails at 29.99 and having bought cheaper Bluetooth adaptors in the past, I first wondered why the high price. Then I realised, its selling feature is APTX low latency support. APTX support comes at a premium and is not present in a lot of devices. And so while this device is perfectly fine for music, its best feature is for low latency streaming of audio from a tv or device where you need the audio in sync. (as cheap Bluetooth adaptors without APTX will have a noticeable lipsync delay).

As my only APTX supported device to hand was my PC’s Bluetooth adaptor, I chose to test by watching video on my PC, while plugging it in as a receiver into my wired headset.

After spending a night charging the receiver, I carefully read the instructions to understand how to switch modes, and then turned it on – or tried to. And this is where the device lost a star in the review.

For some reason, perhaps a fault with mine, or perhaps not, the on/off button was very hard to use. I struggled for about 15 mins at first, with thoughts of giving a 1 star review. Eventually, I kind of got the knack… kind of sneaking up at it from the side, and making sure my finger was in good contact with the metal body. Dont ask me to explain how, but I can usually turn it on and off as expected now.

Once I got it turned on, and set to receiver mode, I was able to test the latency… and the good news is that it was not perceivable – lips were perfectly in sync. I also tested the in built mic, which was absolutely fine.

Range was a bit shorter that hoped – cutting out at about 6 meters, once I went out of line of sight, through a doorway. So not the best range, but should be fine for the purpose of sitting by a screen.

One other thing I noted – it charges and can be powered through the USB socket, but if you connect the Bluetooth before plugging in the USB, it will disconnect. It can be connected again after it is plugged in though.

4.0 out of 5 stars Its good, but read the review

This little device feels solid, really well built and looks as stylish as you’d want from such a thing. The buttons are easily to press and very tactile, avoiding the rubber buttons of some devices that never feel positive in their action or give confidence in their lifespan.

At the jack end of it, you have the option to swivel the pin in just over 90 degrees in both directions offering a lot of versatility in the position. Having it move in both direction is key to avoiding the buttons becoming inaccessible. The other benefit is you are unlikely to find the pin become detached from something pressing down on the device or having it in your back pocket and sitting down!

The use of a multi-function button keeps the exterior simple but means you’ll need that manual while you memorise the key presses to pair the device in either RX or TX mode. That said, once paired it’s simple to turn on and off and use the volume/track buttons. The bright and tiny LED indicator helps understand the device state.

This is a great addition for those needing to transmit or receive audio via Bluetooth. I intend to use this in a Raspberry Pi 4, paired with my buds. I did some early tests plugging into an older mobile phone’s earphone jack (remember those!). The sound was clear and I walked the room around without losing signal. I didn’t test full range but I did go behind a wall and everything was fine.

I was about to write a less favourable review because I originally attempted to pair with my Pixel 8 Pro and it would not work. Until I realised that I’d not switched it to RX mode – this makes sense as the phone can’t act as a Bluetooth speaker but can act as an audio source. So simply user error.

If I was to find a fault, that would be that little LED. I found when in RX mode where it flashes blue it looked white so at first I thought I’d not set it correctly. However if you avoid looking at it directly then you can see the blue colour, face on it looks white.

It’s a dinky little thing, but really well made it seems. I feared the folding stereo 3.5mm jack might be a little limp but it doesn’t feel it when in the hand.

The manual is a must because with the device being so small there’s no room to print the button functions on the device itself. Be sure to keep the manual folks. Easy to use and works well. Pairs well with my mobile devices and the receiver/transmitter function work as you’d expect. It allows me to cast my audio signal to another device, or to stream it to my headphone from a non-Bluetooth device.

I have a Sony Bravia TV that restricts Bluetooth devices to only being of Sony origin (poor gamesmanship Sony, booooo). This device even allows me to stream the audio from the headphone socket to any Bluetooth headphones that I choose.

The only thing I haven’t tested as yet is the battery duration claims of 13 hours. So far it’s about 5 hours and still going strong. Honestly I don’t expect it to last the full 13 hours, but if it lasts any less than 10 I’ll return to update this review. So far though, so good. Genuinely a little impressed by the size and build quality of it. Sturdy little thing with a metallic body. Happy enough so far.

This adaptor packs a lot of functionality in a small package.
It can be used in two modes, as a transmitter or receiver.
I set it as a transmitter and plugged it into my hif. I paired it with my Bluetooth headphones and the sound was very clear with what to my ears seemed a good frequency response.
I then set it as a receiver, plugged it into a different socket on my hifi and used it to receive music from my phone and feed it to the speakers. Again the sound was clear with a good frequency response.
It’s supplied with a user manual that has text and diagrams that are large enough to read easily and a USB charging cable.
The build quality seems very good with three multi function buttons that operate with a positive click, the 3,5mm jack plug connection swivels through just over 180 degrees.
    Overall I’m impressed
