I had one previously but it was old and died.

This one is fantastic, back lit, bigger size but still fits into my pocket for travelling.

I can use it for a few hours a day and lats weeks, a lot better than the one it replaced.

Large memory, so really no faults with it and highly recommend, especially on battery life and comparative price

This is a great basic e-reader. The e-ink screen is much nicer and easier to read than a tablet or phone. It’s also lighter than a phone so is easier to hold. My only complaint is the processor speed is a bit slow, it takes longer to boot up and load a book than I would like but that’s a minor issue. I took a star off the value for the money rating because I feel the non-sale price is too much for a basic reader this size and speed.

It is a good size, the touch screen works beautifully and does not reflect the sun. You can resize the print and store thousands of books on it. And the Kobo store has a massive choice in a number of languages.
To make the battery last for a couple of months of daily reading you should keep the wi-fi turned off.
Criticism- the on -off button is made of a cheese-like substance that is seriously losing out in the daily contact with my thumbnail and wearing down after only a couple of weeks.

I wanted something that was compatible with epubs. It’s as easy as plugging into your computer, drag and drop.
You definitely wouldn’t want to do anything else on this device except read because there can be a lag. Would love a larger screen but you can’t get it all.
But it’s easy on the eyes and as close as you’ll get to a physical book. I will always love physical books more but my local library was extremely limited so I decided this was the way to go and I’m not disappointed.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve had a basic kindle for years and never been able to borrow uk library books. Bought the Kobo Nia in Nov 23 for my daughter specifically so she would be able to. I’m writing this to explain how it works so other people won’t waste time figuring it out like I did! This ereader has Overdrive built in which is the app used for borrowing books.
However when you connect to your library on the Kobo, it doesn’t let you borrow books directly. For that you must use a separate device (Kobo browser is pretty much unusable). Log into ‘Libby’ online with your library ID and then borrow books through that. Then back on your Kobo, using your same library ID to connect to Overdrive, you simply sync and the borrowed books in Libby should appear in My Books on the Kobo.
I believe this is because Libby is the same as Overdrive or is the new name for it. Not exactly sure.
I gather you can also use Borrowbox or other apps, but as they aren’t built into Kobo, you have to download and authorise through Adobe Digital Editions which I couldn’t get to work and just seemed like a faff.
As for the device itself, it’s pretty much the same as the cheaper end Kindles. Similar to those, there is a small amount of lag sometimes which is why I wouldn’t give it 5 stars. But overall a good purchase and my daughter (10) loves it.

The object works as it should, comfortable to the reading and portable. I use it for reading also other documents. It gets slow if you are reading very big files that are not divided in chapters (around 200 pages) and really slow when you surpass 400-600 pages (I experienced this ONLY for single files that are not divided in chapters)

Great bit of kit. My first one I bought last year broke so purchased a replacement as I liked it so much. Works great with Caliber. I’d recommend the sleep covers too

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this as a replacement of my old Kobo Fnac that was slow and stop working..
This is lighter and super comfortable to hold
Sometimes it gets a bit slow but you can’t compare that to the chance to upload any kind of documents just connecting to the computer..you can also link your device to the public library and get books directly on it.
Love the built in light, was worried it was going to be hard to read but I was surprised to see it’s much better than expected..
I definitely recommend and will get another once this dies 🙂

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis e reader does everything I want it to do. It allows books to be downloaded from my local library, which is not possible on some other brands. Text style and size etc can be easily adjusted to suit the user. The backlight feature is perfect for reading in the dark. Overall a good buy.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve had a kobo for many years now and needed an upgrade. Hubby bought this as a gift and it’s so easy to set up! You can also buy vouchers from kobo to gift a loved one so they can buy books of their own choice online. It’s so easy to hold in bed, brilliant for travelling with too and the battery life is amazing

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect buy for book lovers

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI had kindle but this works with overdirve and borrowbox. Overdrive works perfectly as you can search and download inside it. For borrowbox you’ll need to install adobe on your laptop and connect Kobo and download and authorise the device etc. Still, it is great to have access to ebooks from your library!

I mean a 4-6 week battery (if you don’t read in the dark) is amazing. The quality is great the only fault is it’s menus and picture loading is quite slow but it’s a given with other book readers.

Dopo averlo ricaricato, l’ho acceso e ho effettuato i primi passi.
    Peso: 172 g

    Memoria: 8 GB
Luce frontale: ComfortLight, luce monocolore con luminosit regolabile
Personalizzazione: TypeGenius: 12 diversi caratteri e oltre 50 dimensioni
Formati supportati: 15 formati di file nativamente supportati (EPUB, EPUB3, FlePub, PDF, MOBI, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, TIFF, TXT, HTML, RTF, CBZ, CBR)
    Connettivit: WiFi 802,11 b/g/n e Micro USB
Durata della batteria: 1000 mAh, dura per settimane*
Lingue: Inglese, francese, francese (Canada), tedesco, spagnolo, spagnolo (Messico), italiano,
catalano, portoghese, portoghese (Brasile), olandese, danese, svedese, finlandese,
    norvegese, turco, giapponese, cinese tradizionale
    Altro: Nessuna pubblicit, nessuna interruzione
    basta sfregerl
