The grinder works perfectly well. I would only mention that there is no on/off switch to control the grinder so as soon as you plug it in to the power the cutter activates even without the lid so take care.
ice neat item, i like that the plug is detachable. neat unit- the on mode is when the lid is twisted tightly on so feels safe. i bought this to grind (chia and sesame) seeds and it makes a fine powder which i like
looking forward to trying coffee beans too
This product works well. Grounds beans very well. The twist and lock function to activate can debris on it making it work without the lid. Just ensure no debris in-between uses and that solves the issue
Does what it’s supposed to do. Would be better if the compartment could be removed to empty contents after grinding. Only way to clean is by wiping out which is a bit fiddly if you want to avoid the sharp metal pieces.
Fast, efficient, easy to use and surprisingly quiet coffee grinder. Easy to clean an very reasonably priced. Absolutely love this device. Have already recommended it to friends who have now also bought one.
I grind 20 grams of beans to fill 2 double cup filter baskets for my DeLonghi Dedica. To get the best grounds for espresso from this machine I use a 30 – 35 second grind time, stopping the machine for a good shake of the contents at 10 seconds intervals, however this still produces some finer grounds in the bottom of the container. Mixing the grounds with a small plastic spoon as I fill the basket for the first cup of coffee and tip the grinder up gently tapping it to fill the second basket being careful to not get coffee grounds in the lid latch detail.
A good feature of this machine is the deep cup which (at least with small batch size) there is little plastic contact from the spinning beans which causes the plastic to erode, creating microplastics.
It is possible for a blade grinder to give a perfect espresso grind, my old Whittard grinder did it in a little under 20 seconds. This is the 3rd blade grinder I’ve tried as a replacement for it, I will keep this one as it seems there is nothing out there to do the job as well as my old one.
Edit: I have added an extra star and changed the title from “Poor to “Reasonable” espresso grind. It is a quiet machine, seems well made and I like the way the lid works to start and stop it. Using it daily.
I finally got around to using my coffee grinder and I was not disappointed. The noise level was acceptable and the inside of the product was easy to clean. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. It is early day’s but so far I am very pleased with my product and would recommend it to anyone.
I was searching for a burr coffee bean grinder and this was one of the top results..? I could have sworn I even double checked it was in fact a burr grinder before I ordered, but I must not have because what I received was this one with steel blades. When I noticed it was sort of too late, I really needed the grinder so I just had to use it despite it not being what I actually wanted.
It does grind coffee beans just fine, but you have to manually pay attention to the time to not grind for too short or long for your desired use. I only grind small batches for our espresso machine so it’s fit for purpose for us. For anyone needing to grind larger batches this is probably not for you. It grinds enough for 3 double espresso shots in one go, but I wouldn’t expect it to do any more. It’s not too loud, I was expecting a lot more noise to be fair.
I have used it ~5 times at the point of this review.
