Wow, just wow!
This keyboard is satisfyingly heavy, so it doesn’t move about the desk, its backlighting is amazing, recharge time and ‘on capacity’ time are both excellent from the built-in USB-C chargeable battery, The keyboard is designed for both Windows and Mac use and the ‘winner winner chicken dinner’ is the ability to switch the keyboard through three different computers at the touch of one of three keys on the keyboard. The switch is seemless.
I purchased the version with the separate wrist support. Although I’m not normally a fan of these supports, this one is of great quality and has a gel-like feel to it.
This is an expensive keyboard, but actually in use and operation is worth double the money.
I’ve had a couple of Logitech keyboards and they are always high quality and this one is no exception, The main reason for me buying this is the nice key backlighting so I can use it in low light level conditions and it’s not some fancy rainbow LED colours just a nice white illumination to see the keys with.
The other important factor is that it comes with a dongle which means the keyboard works pre-windows boot, the bluetooth connections don’t do this so remember to pair it with the dongle if you need this functionaluty and don’t just use the bluetooth connection.
Have one at the office and one at home – only a keyboard, but I feel the difference when I have to use anyone elses. For me, it’s been worth the cost, which I admit put me off at first.
Never been a fan of the high capped clunky keyboard. Have replaced all of our keyboards with these. Good battery life (so long as you don’t have the keyboards permanently illuminated – choose from 5 seconds to 30 minutes, with optional automatic brightness and battery saving mode at 10% power remaining). One keyboard connects up to three devices via Bluetooth, easily switched. Top row keys programmable on a per application basis – whatever applications you have on your PC or MAC. Have paired ours with the MX Master 3S mouse. Perfect.
I recently got my hands on the Logitech MX Keys S PLUS Wireless Keyboard, and let me tell you, it’s been a game-changer in my world. This keyboard has seriously elevated my typing experience and made life at the desk so much better. Here’s why I’m giving it a rock-solid 5 stars:
Premium Aesthetics and Quality (5/5): First off, this thing looks sleek. It’s got that modern design that instantly adds a touch of sophistication to your workspace. The build quality is top-notch. When you start typing on those low-profile keys, it’s like tapping on clouds – super quiet and comfortable.
Seamless Wireless Connectivity (5/5): The wireless connection is a breeze. You can connect it to multiple devices via Bluetooth or use the included Logitech Bolt Receiver (which is in the box, by the way), and switching between devices is a snap. No more fussing with cables. This feature alone is a game-changer for anyone managing different tech devices.
Backlit Brilliance (5/5): The keys light up! This is a game-changer if you’re working late into the night. The backlighting adjusts to your surroundings, so you’ll never hit the wrong key in the dark. Late-night work sessions have never been so easy on the eyes.
Customisation at Your Fingertips (5/5): Those function keys at the top? They’re your personal helpers. I’ve set them to open my most-used apps and shortcuts, and it’s like having shortcuts to productivity. It’s a time-saver and a cool personal touch to make your keyboard work just the way you want it to.
Impressive Battery Life and Quick Charging (5/5): Logitech claims this thing can go up to 10 days on one charge, and you know what? It’s true. I’ve gone a whole week without plugging it in, and it’s still going strong. Plus, quick charging means one minute of charging gives you three hours of typing power. No more worrying about running out of battery during important tasks.
Endless Customisation with Logitech Options Software (5/5): The Logitech Options software is where the real magic happens. You can fine-tune this keyboard to be your perfect partner, from key assignments to gesture controls. It’s like having your own personal keyboard assistant, making your workflow smoother and more efficient.
In summary, the Logitech MX Keys S PLUS Wireless Keyboard, complete with the included Logitech Bolt Receiver, is the real deal. It’s got that premium feel, exceptional wireless capabilities, quick charging, and it’s fully customisable. If you want a keyboard that makes work (and play) more enjoyable, this is it. Seriously, I couldn’t be happier with this purchase – it’s worth every penny!
Firstly, I did not buy this keyboard from Amazon as it was significantly cheaper to buy directly from Logitech, but it was on offer at the time.
But I would highly recommend this keyboard over other similarly priced keyboards.
I have a docked MacBook Pro and needed to get a keyboard for the desk. I had an older Apple Magic Keyboard, but the regularly used keys “S”, “E” and so-on began to fade after a period of time I felt was unacceptable considering the price paid. I had considered the new version, but felt the lack of backlighting I’d grown used to using the laptop’s own keyboard was a seriously lacking feature and one I expected Apple to have addressed by now.
So researching brought me to the Logitech Key S Plus keyboard.
I took too long to consider it as there has been different versions of this keyboard, and I have to admit the various listings here on Amazon were confusing to me as there seemed to be a half dozen different but similar products. Some seemed to be identical but different (what is Keys S, Keys S Plus?)
Plus there is an older version and I couldn’t figure out which, if any of the listings was the old or the new version. Then there was an International version and a UK version. Easy to get that wrong as some of the reviews mentioned.
So it was easier and as it turned out cheaper to buy direct from Logitech as I could choose the keyboard layout (UK English) I wanted. I ended up with exactly the right keyboard, with palm rest and the necessary sign in the right place!
There’s the question of the backlight. It’s not on ll the time, but does become active when the ambient light needs it, a lot like the MacBook’s own keyboard. You cannot use the keyboard in wired mode, but you can leave it plugged in to keep it charged if you want. It will last about a week with backlight on and unplugged, or more like three months with the backlight off.
I also like the fact you can link to up to three computers without having to go through the full disconnect and pairing process, so if like me you have more than one computer, it’s a godsend. I can press one button to get KB access to my server which then kicks over the auto input on my second monitor so I can make changes. All rather good!
I did buy a protector for the keyboard too. I always do this for my MacBooks as it keeps them pristine, and why not?
The keyboard has a really nice weight to it which means it keeps still while typing. The palm rest is a nice slim model with gel for comfort, a nice addition.
It’s really hard to find fault with this keyboard!
It has to be said; Apple would do worse than to buy one of these keyboards so they can figure out just why it’s so much better than the Magic Keyboard. For the life of me I cannot work out why you would buy the Apple Keyboard over this one.
The M Keys S Plus with palm rest is an amazing keyboard. There are plenty of reviews out there can describe it better than I can, but in my own words I’d say the following:
Strengths:
– The build is premium, excellent material choices
– The keys have the perfect amount of travel, resistance and feel for typical desk based jobs
– Plenty of useful features: the ability to switch between machines is seamless by selecting one of three pairing buttons; able to re-assign keys; backlit keyboard that lights up as your hands approach it
– It’s quiet too: you’re able to hold a video conference using a desk / screen mounted mic without worrying about others hearing you types your notes
– Dongle or Bluetooth: Windows machines will recognise the keyboard without having to dig around Bluetooth settings which is impressive. You can also elect to use the included dongle, which is compatible with the MX Masters 3s Mouse if you have it.
Potential downsides
– If you’re looking for a mechanical experience with specific key stroke noise characteristics, then look elsewhere
– If you want RGB, this isn’t for you
Summary
If you’re looking for the ultimate typing experience that provides convenience (see strengths) and a very pleasant typing experience, then look no further. Having come from a Blackwidow Lite mechanical keyboard by Razer, that was very noisy and clunky, I couldn’t recommend this keyboard enough. For reference I paid 119 GBP for this item.
