Cleans my teeth very well indeed.
I like using the app too. It’s often the only praise I get during the day.
I could do with somewhere to keep the heads as they’re bigger than the ones from my old brush.
I’m surprised that the brush needs charged every week or so but it’s not an issue for me as there’s a power point right beside where I keep it.
I have used an oral b electric toothbrush in past but more recently been using phillips. Impressions are good and i am enjoying using it. Seems to clean teeth the best ever. Glad i did nit wate money on the higher level versions as they are not useful in my opinion.
Small downsides are that the battery only lasts about 7 days (some of that is because i clean for about 3mins each time as it us so good to use) and the head is bigger so i think this would not suit people with small mouths.
I’m pleased with this electric toothbrush, I like the fact that it has different modes to choose from especially the gum care mode as I do sometimes struggle with cleaning my gums.
Additionally, it does come with some accessories which is quite which includes a travel case.
The battery life is okay, it does take a couple of hours to fully charge up but it should last around a week before running out of battery (depending on usage)
You do have the option to use the Oral B app to track your status on how well (or bad) you’re brushing skills and recent history.
I think this a great electric toothbrush, great value for money even if it has a few downsides but the pros do outweigh it!
I bought this to upgrade the tooth bruch I had which was a few years old. Once fully charged (overnight) I used it for the first time what an improvement to the old Oral-B I had. My rating of 4 stars is because it would seem there may be a design flaw with the brushes the small hole near the brushes lets saliva and tooth paste dribble over the handle, your hand and if unlucky over your clothes.
I have just bought this item so cannot comment on battery life or bluetooth connectivity. Will review more later. I think this great value compared to store prices I have seen. Easy to follow instruction manual, looks good and sturdy.
I don’t usually write product reviews but I thought the observations below could be useful to those Oral B toothbrush users who are fed up with the short battery life of the older models. Before choosing which toothbrush to buy I looked at the reviews on other sites and concluded that I might as well spend the money on their latest range because (1) it has a new motor and cleaning action, (2) it has a Lithium battery that should last longer. I bought the iO6 because the reviews suggested that this was the best value in the new range. First surprise: you can’t use the replacement brushes designed for the older models. That’s a pain, I’ve got quite a few. The new models have a screen! pressing a few buttons I accidentally changed the screen language to something from the Far East…so had to use the manual to reset and start again. Phew! I’m really not interested in Bluetooth connectivity or A.I. on my toothbrush but in actual use for cleaning teeth its got a high speed, non-jarring “thorough feeling” brush action that gives confidence that you’ve done a good job. Should probably still floss first, but the end result after using the brush feels like a mouth well cleaned. My main driver was to get a brush that didn’t need recharging every few days and I’ve not had the time to give this a decent test. However the claim is for two weeks and I’d be happy with that. It will go back if not! Certainly there has been no variation in speed, unlike my previous “PRO 1” model, so the signs are good. I also quite like the coloured lights and happy/sad face feedback on the device itself (i.e. not a wall stick-up battery run display). One quibble, the handle is quite smooth, so you have to hold it firmly. There’s none of the rubbery feel that you got on the older models. Due to poor battery life I’ve had 3 new older model Oral B toothbrushes in 2 years, so providing this new iO6 lasts that long it will be a better purchase. It definitely cleans teeth well, so far anyway…
Love this toothbrush for it’s effectiveness at cleaning and brushing my teeth. It has a range of brushing modes. I used the app for a few days then realised its a gimmick; and I also don’t carry my phone around in the bathroom.
Two things annoy me about this brush. The first is rather a biggie – the battery life on this thing is pretty crap. I seem to be charging it once a week. That’s with two brushes a day, sometimes three. Still, it shouldn’t be that bad.
The minor gripe is you do need to give it a really good rinse and clean after each brush. Otherwise the black handle just gets coated in toothpaste as it runs down and sticks.
Value for money? It’s expensive for what it is. More cost effective models are available.
So I have been using the Philips Diamondclean range for a long time, but finally got fed up of the shaft breaking every 2 years give or take and having to buy a new one.
I decided to try the Io6 as this seemed to be very similar.
Initial thoughts:
The brush heads are shorter than Philips and slightly thicker. The bristles are longer too so it felt a bit wierd at the beginning.
Cleaning wise I would say its very similar.
Battery – doesn’t last as long as the Philips and thats after switching off the bluetooth as well to try and save energy.
Pressure sensor lights up red to show you are brushing too hard which is nice.
Overall I am quite pleased with the purchase. Lets hope it lasts longer than 2 years.
Firstly it is not a scale and polisn. What you do get however is a superior clean.
Instructions are not worth the time and I had to go on Youtube to get most of the info. i chose this brush as the cleaning is the same bar a few extra modes. I only use intense anyway as that gives a top notch clean.
The instructions dont tell you that you can access settings on the handle and change the ring colour. To turn off Bluetooth switch brush off and press mode button until you see settings then press power and you can disable it.
AI is a gimick and will work on only certain phones and not tablets. If AI is not supported it will revert to a timer.
Bottom line is that the IO6 is just as good and so much cheaper. You lose a few modes and fast charging. Yet if you can put up with that then its worth it. I would say forget the app as everything you need such as pressure sensor and timer and choice of colour ring is built into the handle.
CONS: As stated AI not for all phones and charging is 12 hours. Modes are less and you get no UK adapter for your charging so order one when you purchase. Brushes are more expensive and I invested in 4 so the whole package was just under 140.
I have been using the toothbrush for 2 months now. To start of its 10x better than the old oral b toothbrushes. The micro vibration is top notch. Literally so smooth and strong. Doesn’t vibrate crazy like the old toothbrush. My brushing technique is much better. I can already notice the difference to how clean my teeth are.
The biggest downside is the app and the Bluetooth. The app or/ and Bluetooth just a) doesn’t connect yo the phone or b) says it’s connected then disconnects. No ide why it does it. I try to refresh the connection but it doesn’t work.
Overall lovely toothbrush but the app and Bluetooth doesn’t stay connected.
