Was a bit dubious that this would work as well as I hoped, but it does. Use it most days. Very pleased with it as a second device for connecting, and charging, my switch to a TV. Would recommend

This mini portable docking station is a fantastic replacement for the official dock and charger. It’s compact and easy to carry around, making it perfect for travel. The 4K@60Hz HDMI output delivers excellent visuals when playing games on the big screen. What sets it apart is its 65W fast charging capability, ensuring that my Switch is always ready to go. Plus, it’s designed with safety features to protect my device. If you own a Nintendo Switch, this is a must-have accessory. It combines functionality, portability, and affordability in one sleek package.

The main reason for choosing this over the Switch’s supplied dock is the letter’s size and bulk. It has never been very portable, intended instead to sit at home, while you take your Switch out with you. Which is all well and good, until you want to take it to a friend’s house. Then you have to cart everything around with you. This is small enough to fit into a large pocket and makes setting up anywhere much easier. So far we’ve not run into any problems with power or connection.

We recently went on holiday and both me and my son wanted to take a dock for our Switchs but didn’t want anything too big. This plug dock was the idea option, it allowed us to charge them up and when we wanted we just needed to connect the HDMI cable and we could enjoy it on the big screen.

The plug is well made, nice and solid, it worked well when used with an EU adapter too, I was worried it wouldn’t function but it was okay.

Great alternative to the larger docks and handy to keep in the case when out the house.

This GaN charger can supply 65 watts via a USB 2.0 socket, though I think its party piece is the ability to convert USB-C output into HDMI format. This is not something I have seen before in a power supply / charger.

They aimed directly this device at the Switch market, a sort of cross between a very basic docking and a power supply. They supply it in a simple box and it arrives unassembled, though putting it together takes seconds. There is a decent USB-C to USB-C cable supplied, along with a simple user guide in multiple languages. I just wish the power LED had been Blue and not Green.

If you just wish to power your Switch and watch the graphics on a larger screen, this device is perfect for that. I really approve of GaN power supplies, anything that is less wasteful energy wise.

The switch itself is good. Avoids to have the base to play and my son has a portable screen in his little secret room under the bed where he plays and watch videos. Was amazed to play on the screen while having the Nintendo in hand, but disappointed to realise that, for some reasons, was unable to watch YouTube videos. No issues when we connect phones to the screen. If was all good, def 5 stars

To be honest, I use this for more than just my Nintendo Switch. I use it quite a bit as a charger for various devices. But as a Switch dock, it’s great. As advertised, it takes up much less space than the regular dock.

t’s easy to use and does a good job. Overall I’d give it 5 stars based on its versatility and performance as a compact Switch dock

This Switch Dock is a game-changer for Nintendo Switch fans because it delivers 65W of power, so you can play games without interruptions. Its small size and variety of connection options make it a useful addition to any gaming setup. You can play at home or while traveling without worrying about battery life. Because it has safety features built in, it’s a reliable and necessary add-on for your Nintendo Switch.

This is a very efficient and fast user friendly gadget that helps keep the Nintendo charged when it’s in use by itself, but also is perfect for moving the picture to the much larger monitor. The manual is easy to understand and it comes with a cable so I didn’t have to go looking for one. This is one of those products that you didn’t know you needed until you got one. This gadget is small and lightweight and is easy to carry with the Nintendo. I don’t know this brand, but it works perfectly well.

The switch from a bulky dock to this compact alternative for my gaming setup was smooth. It’s been reliable during use, maintaining a good connection to my devices without overheating. The added benefit of portability means I can tuck it into my bag when I’m on the move. It serves its purpose without any fuss, and the absence of clutter has tidied up my gaming space quite well.

I have had it for nearly 3 weeks and it has worked great. I’ve used it as a replacement dock for my switch and a charger for my laptop & mobile. It charges and transmits to and from your WII as well as the standard dock. It can fast charge other USB devices. And, unlike the dock, where it’s annoying to change a cable, it’s quite easy to connect an additional USB C cable in and charge your tablet or smartphone. It’s great for travel and cuts down on the number of chargers I need to bring when I travel. I have suggested it to all my friends who have a switch. I can connect my laptop to the tv and charge it using just a USB C cable without having to use an additional dongle. It has a good quality look.

I’ve used quite a few docks for the switch, but due to issues with various 3rd party chargers/docks bricking switches, I’ve been generally pretty reluctant, especially with non-official chargers.

After doing a decent amount of research before using this, this one seems to be rated well within safe parameters for the switch to use. Most importantly, seems that it doesn’t go over 3A, which seems to be one of the main causes of switches bricking from 3rd party chargers and docks.

I’ve been using it for a few weeks without issue, and I have to say, this is a bit of a game changer. Usually, I’m carrying around my official charger with a very compact dock, with the charger taking up the bulk of the space in my case/bag. With this actually completely cutting the need for both of these, and being a lot more compact even than the original charger (The UK plug attachment disconnects from the brick, and the cable is detachable), this actually even fits into my fairly compact switch case, with a HDMI cable too.

The ability to power a switch, and be used as a dock, from the same brick, is actually the best option I’ve seen for portability of a console that’s designed to be taken wherever.

This isn’t the cheapest dock I’ve seen, but at the moment the listing is sitting at ~30, and given that a replacement official switch charger is 15+, and replacement docks are 60, this is a no-brainer.

It might not be the nicest looking option for your home setup, and doesn’t look as tidy as the official dock does, but this is clearly designed for portability, and after using it for a bit this is absolutely something I think every switch owner should have. Love i

I’ve been using this to play Super Mario Bros Wonder with my son on our downstairs television and also on my computer monitor whilst his official Switch dock is upstairs connected to his television.

The device really is impressive and has been a revelation to me because, naively, I didn’t know that such devices existed.

It has meant that we have used the Switch more than we otherwise would have done because it has made plugging the Switch into the downstairs television easy: no need to move the dock and cables downstairs and I can, instead, just keep the GaN “Power Hub” device plugged into the downstairs television with its own HDMI cable connected.

Installation is easy and the sockets on the hub plug are clearly labelled: “host” (Switch), HDMI (4k/60) and a USB 2.0 socket.

The picture quality is great (I can’t tell the difference compared to the usual/official output quality).

The device also works well with laptops and as a laptop dock (up to 65w output for the model I have).

There’s an easy to fit UK plastic plug adapter in the box that slides over the plug.

The USB cable is also USB 3.1 compliant. The manual emphasises that it is important to use a 3.1 complaint USB cable.

I would recommend the GaN “Power Hub”. It adds huge flexibility to the Switch and has increased our use of the Switch during the half-term school holidays by making it so easy to plug and play into a television without the hassle of moving the more bulky dock.

    This :

PD65W Switch Dock, for Nintendo Switch,Mini Portable TV Docking Station with 4K@60Hz HDMI/USB2.0/PD USB-C Fast Charging Ports, Full-Featured USB-C to USB-C Cable Included

Is a pretty cool Switch dock.

It is small in form, and is an unusual design for a Switch dock.
Do not let that put you off, as if you get past the unusual aesthetics, underneath is a pretty handy, portable, and perfect for travel, small form Switch dock.

It is essentially a USA, or North American product, as it comes with the USA plug configuration.
This is worked around by an adapter that transforms the plug into a UK plug.
It feels like an afterthought, and I would have preferred a UK plug.

Aside from that minor niggle, it is a great product.
The USB ports are quick and easy to charge from.

The picture quality is excellent, pumping out 4K@60Hz, which makes it clear, crisp and as smooth as a box of buttered frogs *ribbit*.
(Fun Froggy Fact – almost every single movie that has a frog sound in it, uses the same American frog sound, captured from a frog just outside the movie studio for convenience. That is why every one knows that frogs go “Ribbit” when in fact they make a whole range of sounds, from *croak* to *burping noises*, and worse. Told you it was fun!)
The sound is good too, being clear, and as crisp as a bag of badgers.

Overall, this is a pretty good effort.
Priced at a price that I would happily pay, it comes with just about everything I would need, and expect.

    I can happily recommend it.

I hope you enjoyed our time together .
Thank you for reading my review .

I have been looking for a separate plug for when I want to take my switch with us on holiday/visiting friends as it is a bit of a nuisance unplugging the TV etc etc then putting it all back when you have finished. Comes with a sturdy USB C plug but it would have been nice to have a standard TV connector too – guess that would bump up the price though and not all TVs are the same. Also useful as a high draw current charger – charging my iPad Pro can cause chargers to run hot but this one was mildly warm but fine. Despite the photo it does come with a UK adapter and as others have said that looks to be the weak spot as although it is fine it does look a lot cheaper made than the dock itself which does look good quality. So all in all a useful bit of kit and if the UK adapter breaks I have a sturdy travel adapter that can do the job. Would be 5 stars with a better quality UK adaptor.

The PD USB-C fast charging ports are a game-changer, as they ensure that my Switch stays charged while I play, preventing any interruptions due to a low battery. The inclusion of a high-quality USB-C to USB-C cable is a thoughtful touch, ensuring I have everything I need right out of the box.

The build quality is solid, and the compact design makes it easy to carry in my bag when traveling. It’s a breeze to set up and use.

    PROS
-a very convenient, small, device, it’s a great replacement for the much larger Switch Dock _and_ its power supply.
-will charge the Switch as you play
-video up to 4K 60Hz, not bad at all
-it pushed 54W to a test device via the USB-C port
-quite a nice USB-C to USB-C cable included
-USB-C cable data throughput tested out at approximately 3.8Gbs, which not quite USB 3.2 Gen1 speeds (5Gbs), but not bad
-clever USA/UK plug system (very useful if you’re an Atlantic hopper).

    CONS
-USB-A port only supplies approximately 2W of power (4.66V at 0.43A)

    NOTES
-it’s small, portable, does everything necessary, and is a fraction of the price of an official Switch Dock.

    MY STAR RATINGS:
    1* substandard, mostly cons
2** barely acceptable, cons outweigh the pros
3*** meets the basic requirements, cons balance the pros
4**** good product, pros outweigh the cons
5***** exceptional, all (or almost all) pros

The Mirabox portable switch docking station is a versatile 3-port charger designed for the Nintendo Switch and the 2022 Nintendo Switch OLED model, offering 65W of power in total. There is a little assembly required as the UK mains supply adapter needs to be slid onto the pins at the bottom of the unit.

Developed to meet switch energy specifications, it incorporates a power management chip to safeguard your device from overcurrent, overheating, and overvoltage, effectively replacing the official dock and separate charger. Unfortunately, this may have meant that this power management got in the way of my testing the actual power output of the device. At least I hope so, as I cannot quite believe that the 5V 1A USB-A connector could only put out 4.3 volts under a 1A load. Similarly, the USB-C port would only output 4.3 volts at the 3A rating using the supplied cable, and when read directly from the port, there was only 4.7 volts. All this means is that you probably should not use this charger for fast charging your phone, as the marketing indicates, even though the prospect of a 3-amp USB-C port is tempting. When I tried to charge my phone, it complained that the charge connection was unreliable in some way, and neither port would give me over half an amp.

I found this disappointing, as the charger has Gallium Nitride (GaN) charge controllers that should perform better than this. The advantages of this technology are that the charger is more compact and can be squeezed into a smaller package, such as the HDMI output. It should also run cooler.

The cable looks the part with a thick, insulated wire with metal connectors. I was pleasantly surprised, as I have found that the cables included with such devices tend to be an afterthought. They could have improved on the connector design and given it some proper strain relief, as this area is usually the point of failure for such cables.

This compact dock charger supports 4K@60Hz TV output and 1080P HD output, serving as a space-saving alternative to the official switch dock while being highly travel-friendly and being only a fraction of the size of the official dock. It combines the functions of the original dock and AC charger.

The one big negative is the RRP of over 50, although there is a 40% voucher available. I can’t see why this makes any sense, as a customer might skip over the device without noticing that it is discounted. Without the voucher, I probably would not buy it, instead preferring a mini portable switch dock instead. The biggest advantage is, of course, its compact size, and in this regard, it functions well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Compact solution for a switch

    Good:

    – takes less space compared to the original and it’s “power supply”
    – every port is close to another but it does not hinder them during usage
    – has US prong but there’s an UK adapter and it’s easy to install
    – USB C cable in the bundle, so you don’t need to buy one
    – not bad design
    – does not heat up during longer use
    – easy to use

    Bad:

    – design might not be for everyone
    – people used to original might be against i

The video goes into much more detail, including overview of what it can and can’t do as well as full efficiency testing.

    However, in a nutshell:

    Things I liked:

+ Fairly efficient – about 85% efficient – so it won’t heat up too much when charging your Switch.
+ Works perfectly to replace your Switch dock – just plug it in and connect the HDMI port to your TV. Won’t work with Switch Lite though (it’s very, very difficult to get the Switch Lite talking to a TV).
+ Good quality throughtout – cable and charger.
+ Easy to adapt to USA/Japan plug sockets if you want to. Multi-voltage and simple to change plugs over.
+ Works with other devices too – you can use it to dock a phone, for example. My Samsung S21 FE docks with it nicely – 1 plug and you can connect power, HDMI and keyboard/mouse to the phone to have a full-on computing experience just using your phone.

    Things I didn’t like:

    – Nothing.

    Do I recommend it?

Absolutely. Great quality third party dock that works flawlessly.
