Monitor your brushing pressure

Brushing too hard can damage your teeth and gums. To prevent this, your Philips Sonicare ProtectiveClean emits a gentle pulsing sound to remind you to ease off on the pressure.

BrushSync technology

A microchip-enabled technology that detects and synchronizes the smart brush head with the smart handle. The smart handle and smart brush head pair is a powerful combination that enables Smart replacement reminders.

BrushSync replacement reminder

All brush heads wear out over time. But our BrushSync technology tracks how long you’ve been using your brush head for, and how hard you’ve been brushing. When it’s time to replace it, a light on your handle and a short beep will let you know. That way, you can be sure your brush head is doing a good job.

Ease into your new routine

Starting something new can take some getting used to. Our easy-start program gives you the option of a gradual, gentle increase in brushing power with the first 14 uses with your new toothbrush.

We moved from cleaning teeth with wood to toothbrush then electric anti plaque
    Then came the sonic toothbrush.
What a superb product teeth never felt. So clean, totally different type of cleansing your teeth.

Having had several Oral B brushes for years I thought I would try a different one, and different it is. It is smooth where the old one is clunky, it is quiet where the other one is loud. It is not so much brushing ones teeth, as having them caressed by a gentle humming bird. It is more expensive but well worth the money IMO

I had the previous version of this for so long I can’t remember. Maybe 8 or ten years. When it broke I decided to try an Ordo sonic brush. I won’t go into he details, but it was a mistake. Buy cheap, buy twice. It lasted less than a year, and I have come back to Philips. Charge lasts a long time, feels nice in the hand, powerful, pressure warning, and heat with sensors tell you when they need to be changed.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI didn’t realise quite how much I needed this tooth brush. I was stubborn and stuck to just using manual toothbrushes for years when everyone else around me upped their game! I can honestly say hands down that this has improved my oral care significantly, and even my dentist and hygienist have been making positive comments about the difference.
I like that there are 2 settings and that the pressure sensor tells me when I’m brushing too hard. The battery life is also really good. I brush twice a day for 2 minutes and charge my toothbrush I’d say every 2 to 3 weeks.
The other thing I really like is the travel case, I travel enough to use it frequently and with the exception of my toothpaste, it holds my interdental brush, floss stick as well as my toothbrush.

I was so impressed with the quality of this brush that I got my husband one too!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have used Sonicare Electric Toothbrushes for many years. They don’t last forever, so I like to have a spare when I see at a good price. One I bought was pretty useless as the speed seemed really slow. This one however is really good & I have been using it for the past 2 weeks 2 or 3 times per day & haven’t had to charge it up once. I used out of the box so must have been fully charged on arrival. Sonicare are efficient, effective & I wouldn’t be without one. If you’re away 1 or 2 weeks, you don’t even need to pack the charger if charged up before you go. I love the colour of this one & it’s a great toothbrush.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI was due an electrical toothbrush upgrade after 18 months of tooth issues and repairs. And for completing treatments I rewarded myself with this toothbrush and all I can say is wow. I love it. The sleek design, case to take it with me during travels and the actual brush and how it gets to the places my older toothbrush could not reach.
The timer is so useful so there is a program time to clean your teeth. The vibration is slightly different from other brushes used I.e. oral b, but once you get used to it the freshness and cleanliness of the mouth after is amazing! I personally use the second speed setting which seems fine.
There is a small clear lid that covers the brush head for extra hygiene which I love, prefer to have my toothbrush covered at all times.
A great purchase – try it!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI love the fact this toothbrush has a larger head than the little rounded brushes on many electric toothbrushes. It doesa great job cleaning. Powerful but gentle, easy to use, sleek design, well made, not too heavy and a single charge lasts for ages.

Really impressed with this toothbrush, quiet and sleek with a little light to let you know when it needs recharging. Cleans my teeth very well, just need replacement heads now

Bought this due to my old one dying a death. Feared there would be something wrong with it due to the low price? But, NO exactly the same as my old one! Absolutely bargain. Thankyou!!

I bough this to replace an earlier model when it failed. Very efficient, charges quickily, long battery life. Useful carrying case for travelling. Haven’t tried the ‘smart brush’ yet. Five stars for what it does, but yet to discover whether it last slonger than several previous, similar models that failed after a relativelky short time.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersBeen using this 2 months now and it’s great. It only needs charging roughly every 6 weeks depending on use. It takes some getting used to the feeling after coming from an oral b, but it makes my teeth feel cleaner for sure.

On the negative side, the case is trash. As other people say, it doesn’t close and stay closed. It’s the cheapest, flimsiest case which I honestly expected better when I’m paying 70 for a toothbrush. The case is a joke.

Also the brushing timer built in to the brush is WAY TOO SHORT. Who brushes their teeth for only 2 minutes?! I can’t think of a single reason they would make the timer 2 minutes! I have to use 2 timers each time to get enough brushing

Using the toothbrush takes a short time to avoid “clattering” on your teeth – but OK now.
(The two speed action makes it convenient to learn how to use the toothbrush on the slower speed setting.)

This toothbrush is extremely efficient with its fast charging and comfortable feel. It’s not too harsh on the gums but leaves you with a clean fresh look. It was also great for my backpacking trip I originally bought it for due to how easy it is to pack away, yet I ended up replacing my original toothbrush for it! Would definitely recommend

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value for money!

It seems a good brush, with a choice of two ‘ferocities’ of the sonic bit. However, in an attempt to avoid plastic use, Philips have use aluminium for the brush shaft , which makes a pretty nasty vibration when it inevitably touches your teeth. The timer is amusing, as it sounds exactly like a train horn.

This is probably my 4th Philips Sonicare toothbrush. My old one suddenly stopped working and after a little research, plus an Amazon gift voucher – I decided on this one. I’m so glad I didn’t get a different one. There’s one button, which I love. No extra button for whitening teeth. No extra button for different pulses. I just want to clean my teeth and go. The brush itself comes with a head, plus a travel case. I recently travelled and used the case. You pull off the head, and lay both handle and head in the box. It’s very secure, clean , and ensures I don’t accidentally turn on the handle while in my case. I also LOVE these heads. My previous Healthy White models have had white heads with larger surface areas which have curved bristles. These are smaller and more straight, meaning I can get to all areas of my mouth easily. The handle also senses the head and informs you when it’s been 3 months, so you can change to a new head. The orange light and vibrations can’t be missed. It looks good and on a single charge it lasts me around 2 weeks. It’s simple and easy to use if you just want clean teeth! It charges overnight (I’d say maybe 6 hours though I haven’t timed it) but it’s worth pointing out that it has a 2 pin plug so you’ll need an adapter if you don’t have those shaver ports in your bathroom.

Had this toothbrush for 4 years. Still holding charge well. I have used the recyclable Brusd toothbrush heads with it.
This last year the vibrating prong has come loose twice. You can get the bottom off and tighten up the loose part if needed. Don’t just throw it away, they are easy to fix.

I brought this to replace my previous brush, it was the same model and I had been pleased with it but the battery wore out. As a dental nurse of many years I can recommend sonicare brushes, they do a fantastic job compared to a manual brush and many other makes too, keeping plaque and stains away.
There are more expensive models with extra features but I find this model quite adequate.

My last top of the range Philips toothbrush really did not meet with expectations as it quickly went into ‘limp mode’. I replaced it with this much better value pretty basic brush. This comfortably outperforms the previous brush and has no gimmicks. Push one button and off it goes. Simple. Does its job perfectly. Coming with a matching travel case adds to the value.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersThis is the 3rd Sonicare toothbrush I’ve owned. The other two both broke within 12 months of purchase. I was offered replacements which is fine, but customer service took around a week to provide me with a new one each time which wasn’t ideal!

The toothbrush cleans brilliantly and the battery life is pretty good too. I normally have to recharge it every 1.5 – 2 weeks (based upon using it twice a day).

I definitely recommend you dry it after every use though, or you’re likely to get a build up of bacteria on the top and base of the handle.

You should also avoid dropping the handle directly on its drive shaft, as this can damage the handle.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersUsed Oral-B for decades but their battery life is not the same as it once was. My first Oral-B lasted for ages but the next 3 declined rapidly and needed to charge them every second day in the end.

So I took the risk and gave Philips Sonicare a chance (got the 4300 for 65).

Well well well, what a dramatic change, not only is the cleaning result much better (feels like a dentist cleaning after every use) but also the battery life is amazing. I use mine twice daily (approx. 4-5 minutes each time) and only have to charge it once a months which is absolutely amazing.

Yes, the replacement heads are a bit more expensive than Oral-B but I got 4 for 10 on offer, so that’s not too bad.

Got mine now for 12 months and still works perfectly. Used 5 heads so far.

Only downside for me is that the timer stops after 2 minutes and I have to turn the toothbrush on again. Would prefer if it just keeps going but it is not the end of the world. The other minor issue is that once you need a new head the brush will keep reminding you for a while which is a bit annoying if you want to use the old one for a bit longer. But this will also stop after a while and is no deal breaker either.

Also the travel case is useful and since the battery life is amazing, you can leave the charger at home if you go on holiday 🙂

    Cleaning results 10/10
    Battery life 10/10
    Handling and looks 10/10

    Would recommend it to anyone!
