Used this to cover some damp and mould in my bathroom and another room. After cleaning everything and letting it dry I sprayed this on. It worked really quickly and dried as quickly as it states. I resprayed and you wouldn’t know that the paint was any different. It’s been a few months and nothing new has appeared in those places either. Very very pleased.
Had to sort out the mold issue as I wasn’t risking waiting for the council to solve it and my son getting unwell. Used a mold remover and prayed this a few days after and wow! Really does work and my wall now looks fresher with the new paint. The mould kept on growing back each time I cleaned it and finally stopped after spraying this. So happy and still have a ton left in the bottle to use in future.
Needed to seal over 2 brown water stains on my ceiling. It took 3 coats but cant see them now. Its very quick to dry however id recommend wearing a face mask as there is a lot of fine powder residue and the smell is horrible, enough to make the eyes sting. Product definitely works though and can paint over it within a few hours.
The smell of this product is one for the record books. But don’t let that take away from the fact it does the job it’s meant to perfectly. It’s been a month and no stains or mould has returned.
I used this to cover water marks that emulsion wouldn’t cover on ceiling after a leak. Two coats & has covered well, was prepared after reading reviews by wearing 2 masks, also a splash visor as states on tin not to get in eyes. Glad I did as, even though I was careful with the roller, the visor had tiny splashes of paint on. The fumey smell was overpowering even with 2 masks on but luckily I had patio doors in that room that were wide open.
I then used it in living room where had damp spores on wall, again 2 coats and so far so good, we will see if the patches return, hopefully not.
It took about 48hrs to get rid of the smell.
Would I use it again? If the damp patches dont return then probably would if needed in another area, but didn’t enjoy doing it due to the smell.
Very impressed with this paint. I have used other ‘quality’ manufacturers but this is by far the best paint I have worked with. I used it on a damp wall with mould and as a patch on my bathroom ceiling.
What I like about this paint is that the finish is good enough that you do not need to add a coat of emulsion or matt paint for it to look good. It also goes on very easily with a brush.
My only warning to potential buyers is that unless you are putting this on a same colour finish, you will almost certainly need at least 2 coats. I used 3 coats to completely cover a darker blue paint underneath, which I treated with an anti mould spray first. This was probably over the top but, but for the cost of an extra coat and some time, I thought was worth it.
Of course the proof is now how long will it look good and will the damp/mould re-appear. I will update this review if that occurs.
As someone living in the UK, I recently tried out the Polar Damp & Stain Block Spray – Matt White, and it has been an absolute lifesaver for my home. I used it to tackle dampness and stains in various areas, and it truly delivered outstanding results. The thing I really liked about this spray is its ease of use. It comes in a convenient 500ml bottle, which was perfect for my needs. The spray nozzle provided a smooth and even application, making it effortless to cover the affected areas. Plus, the matt white finish seamlessly blended with the surrounding surfaces, giving them a refreshed look.
However, there was one thing I wasn’t particularly fond of. While the spray effectively blocked dampness and stains, it did have a slightly strong smell. Although it dissipated after a while, it would have been nicer if the scent was milder.
Overall, I highly recommend the Polar Damp & Stain Block Spray for anyone dealing with dampness and stains in their homes. It’s a fantastic solution that gets the job done efficiently. The convenience of the spray bottle and the seamless finish it provides make it worth the purchase. Just be prepared for a temporary strong smell during application.
