This bag is a good size for a couple of bras or a small sweater. The mesh is easily permeable so the contents will definitely get clean provided you don’t overload the bag. As you can see from the description, the size is approximately 1″ larger than a standard piece of paper and is not gusseted, so – a really small sweater. The zipper seems decent and it has a guard so that it will remain closed throughout the wash cycle. I have had other bags that didn’t have this feature and they invariably opened up at some point and dumped their contents into the rest of the load. I like to use these because bra straps tend to wrap around other items in the wash and get stretched out, and because the hooks on the bras sometimes get caught on other items and are either damaged themselves or else damage the other item. This is a useful item that works as intended.
This small bag is perfect to wash a bra in! It fits one of my 36DD bras perfectly, and stays zipped so that other items do not snag the fabric, or the hooks from the bra get stuck on other items in the wash. This will not fit a sweater, infant sweater perfect, but aside from small unmentionables, this will not hold much. I have only used this a handful of times, so I am unable to speak to its durability over time, however it has worked well so far and am I thankful to have found it! Recommend to those who wash their undergarments separately, this works well for that purpose.
My wife uses zippered laundry bags in both the washer and dryer to protect more delicate items. When she saw the OMCCHK laundry bag she decided to give it a try.
The only picture I have attached to this review shows the laundry bag with the zipper on top (only one side has a zipper). The stitching and construction on my bag is good and it has a quality zipper. In the picture the zipper is the pink color and on the left side you can see that the zipper pull is behind a protective piece of material to keep it from banging around or catching on other items (you can see the end of the zipper pull is just sticking out on the left side of the protective material).
I has not been used much but so far so good. I will update this review if there is anything of interest to report in the future. If you are looking for a good quality zippered laundry bag you should consider the OMCCHR laundry bag. It will get the job done!
Lingerie bag 9.xx by 11.xx inches. First, I see the zipper has a nice elastic over the upper end of the zipper. Mainly, I think it stops the zipper pull from whacking around in the wash if you push the carrier under the elastic. It does also stop the two halves from getting pulled apart too hard (the opening is on the shorter side, so it doesn’t have the widest opening possible for the size). Second, I see it’s a very interesting fine knitted mesh. It looks identical on each side; I don’t recognize the stitch, and I thought it was a fabricated solid at first, but upon closer inspection, I can see each strand is made of tiny strands, like unwaxed dental floss. It may run if it gets cut, as knits can, but I don’t know. (I just looked at my other bags with a loupe and the knit is the same but MUCH more delicate. This bag may be better because the mesh feels a little stiffer and more resilient) Third, all four seams (L and R sides, upper and lower zip) are bound with a separate strip of the same mesh, meaning care was taken in its manufacture.
My experience with garment washing bags has made me avoid: honeycomb meshes because bra hooks often get caught in the mesh, drawstring tops because the effective space is reduced and the drawstring loop catches other laundry, and meshes that are so delicate the strands break and cause runs.
This bag might be worth a try for you. Next request, a larger size, and zipper on the longer side – at least for this one.
The bag is just the right size for my heated socks. They must be washed on delicate due to the components.
The bag will not hold a lot of items and it is much easier to manage than the larger bags we have for delicate items. This bag will protect delicate items better as the mesh is much tighter than our other bags as well.
Mesh laundry bags are the best for protecting fragile items in your washing machine! The “Thickened edge thick mesh laundry bag” will certainly be put to good use with my laundry loads! Most importantly, this laundry bag has a very secure zipper which opens and closes easily, thus securing any item that I place inside the bag! I think it should last for quite some time!
Note:
One thing that I did notice (which is minor, yet I wanted to mention), is that there was material on the inside of the bag, at each of the four corners, that was not sewn down. This may not be an issue for anyone else; however, I decided to baste each of those 4 little pieces of material down so that they wouldn’t eventually become a problem or possibly fray after many washings. Personally I am somewhat of a perfectionist and don’t mind sewing. Most likely, this mesh bag would still work fine without the extra attention of a seamstress!
I like this bag a lot. It has a pretty tight mesh so it would do a good job protecting what is inside. The zipper is sturdy and works well. The size is perfect for what I need. I’m very happy with it!
