    – Can connect with 3.5mm aux cable or USB A
    – Detailed audio
    – Simple yet in-depth software
    – Great mic quality
    – Sleek design
    – Extreme comfort
    – THX Spatial Audio

    Cons:
    – Fully plastic build
    – Slightly loose feeling adjustment mechanism

Overall a great headset, very comfortable, very good audio quality and extremely sleek design.

I decided to replace my ageing HyperX Cloud Flights, after spending a fair bit of time reasearching I opted for the Razer ,there are pros and cons

    Pros:
-Sound quality is outstanding, For FPS gaming it’s fantastic, you can hear a pin drop , or footsteps/gun shots as the positional audio is perfect.

    Microphone -outstanding

For music it’s also very good.

    Cons:
-Out the box the audio and mic are just OK , you need to download Razer Synapse and select a profile (there’s plenty good ones) or set your own EQ settings for the headset to really come into it’s own (and it’s unbeleivable once you do) , this goes for the mic also ,for whatever reason the default settings are pretty crap.
-Battery life of up to 70hrs???, maybe I got a dud because based on current use 2.4ghz I don’t see the battery lasting past 30hrs per charge, I’ll be keeping an eye on this.

I have been gaming for years and made the switch from Xbox to PC. I had been using the steelseries arctis 9X before these.

I was blown away with the quality of these headphones, especially at the price. The sound quality is great, with the added bonus of the spatial sound these really are hard to beat. You will hear things in games you never have before, it really enhances the gaming experience.

Comfort from these headphones is great, I wear them for hours at a time and feel zero discomfort or any sign of irritation to skin. Very easily adjustable to suit the person wearing them.

The cable provided with these is long, and I have never had an issue where I thought it ever caused me and sort of problem.

The headphones are have an adjustable EQ via an app which is a great added bonus, this is also regularly updated to provide you with the best audio experience.

No noticeable sound leakage from these headphones is also a positive. The volume is more than loud enough for every user, and I cannot hear any outside noise whilst using them.

These headphones may be classed as “mid range” for some but having used headphones at a price point of double these I would pick these as my choice every time. For the money, these are amazing value for money.

I switched to this headset from Razer Kraken Kitty and I must say, it was an upgrade. I mainly play WZ3 right now and I can hear the footsteps, loot boxes etc. It’s super lightweight, I don’t even feel it on my head, which is super important because heavy headsets give me a headache. I have a small head and had no problem with that. Battery life is longer than I expected. My only problem is I am using it on my PS5 and I don’t see the battery percentage without connecting it to my PC. If you are a PC gamer, you can use Synapse easily and change your sound settings.
I was thinking of buying Turtle Beach Stealth Pro, but it was more pricey and I was just looking for a headset that I could use on a console anyway so I decided to buy this one. I should’ve bought the Turtle Beach Stealth. The headset is not bad, just it didn’t give me the wow factor. And I don’t think the mic quality made such a difference from my old headset. It isn’t bad, I was just expecting something better.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBefore settling for the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro 2023 wireless I tried the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro and Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro, both retailing for a little either side of 300, I’ve also previously owned the Steelseries Arctis 9, Astro A40, Logitech G Pro X and the older wired Blackshark V2’s, this headset is up there with the best of them. The sound profile is excellent, base is prominent whilst not overpowering, you can easily switch between standard and custom EQ’s or switch between pre-defined game EQ’s all easily changeable through a button on the headset. They’re loud enough, sound great for music and Spatial Audio for gunshots is superb, you’ll have no issue knowing where the enemy is. To get the most out of the headset it’s worth connecting them to a computer using the Synapse 3 software to enable features such as sidetone/mic monitoring and bass enhancement, along with setting your custom EQ etc. I did this then now just use them in my PS5. In terms of looks, they’re quality, granted the Steelseries Nova Pros are imo the better looking if you’re thinking of wearing them out and about for music, but in terms of an out and out gaming headset, the helicopter pilot design holds up well, especially in the white. I’d personally like to see the mic be a little more adjustable, like the turtle beach stealth pro, flick it up out the way or even better, both the Steelseries retractable mic, not that it’s bad and it is detachable. Whilst it doesn’t have a changeable battery, battery life is incredible, I’ve had several few hour long sessions without the need to charge. It does have Bluetooth, and whilst its not simultaneous with game audio like the more expensive TB and SS, a quick double tap of the function button easily switches between game and BT. In terms of comfort, it’s exceptional, full over ear design that you can play with for hours without discomfort, never seems to get too toasty. Far more comfortable than the much more expensive TB’s which have a pinch to them. As far as the mic goes it’s as good as they come, feedback from multiple fellow gamers who’ve heard me on multiple headsets all vouch for that. This is definitely a key selling feature of this headset, if voice quality is on your priority list then you’ve found what you’re looking for. Wireless range is fine, I can get to the opposite corner of my house with solid brick walls before I lose signal. In summary they sound great whether gaming or for media, comfortable, great functionality and good customisation, but remember to get the most out of them use the PC! For the money you won’t be disappointed!!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBought this as an upgrade from the wired Blackshark V2’s. Overall it’s a great headset. Very comfy (once you’ve worn it in a little). The sound quality took a while to sort out. For me, the default EQ presets are awful. Way too bass heavy and muffled mids. I had to do a bit of digging online to get something that sounded good to me. Everyone will be different. By far the biggest upgrade over the Blackshark V2 is the mic . It’s excellent and doesn’t sound too far off some of my friends mid-tier arm mics. You can adjust the EQ of the mic to suit your preference too.

Haven’t had any issues with the wireless connection. Stays connected, no drop outs, crackling noise or intermittent mic cuts. This was mentioned in some of the early reviews but I think they’ve fixed it with firmware updates (bought it in July 2023).

Battery life is good. I’ll get 1-2 weeks out of it depending on how much I’m gaming. Doesn’t take too long to charge either.

The only major negative for me is the sidetone feature. This was excellent on the wired Blackshark V2 but the wireless model is a substantial downgrade. Even at 100% the sidetone is less noticeable and when it’s around 90-100%, you get a slight static/hissing noise. You won’t notice it during most gameplay though. Your voice also doesn’t sound 100% natural with sidetone, takes a while to get used to. I can’t live without it though as I always end up shouting with sidetone off.

There’s no active ANC so you only get passive. It does a good enough job as the cups fully seal your ears.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersHaving worked in many recording-studios, I’ve used many headphones for recording and monitoring. At home, I’d been using Turtle-Beach, purely for listening to internet sites or a spot of gaming now and again. These Razer Blackshark V.2 headphones are really good, especially for the money.
They have a nice build, braided cord and a detachable mic. The ear pieces fit perfectly over one’s ears and their padding is very comfortable. They are light, but don’t feel cheap.

Straight into my pc, I played some music via Wav files, that I know well and these cans were very good with no tweaking. They have 50mm diaphragms with titanium in the ear pieces, so one would expect a beefy bass sound and they have! The mids aren’t ‘sucked in’ and the trebles are normal, nothing piercing.

However, these really come alive when using Razer Synapse software. Use the custom EQ and try -2 250hz -1 500hz +1 4khz +4 8khz and +7 16khz (others on 0) (Don’t add any bass boost etc) This is where they really shine, with just a little tweaking.

The microphone is okay, not a premium mic, but fine enough to chat with for gamers. One can alter it’s EQ response with another 10 band EQ. The spacial sound works well in different programs BUT leave it OFF when using your custom EQ to listen to music. I’ve A/B’d various albums from Queen to Zeppelin to Bowie and these are not for the ‘spacial sound’ option.

I picked these up for about 62 and they are worth that price. You can also use just the 3.6mm output into Xbox/PS5 etc.

Golden Review Award: 46 From Our UsersWarning:
I use these on a PC, if you’re using them for a console then I can’t really comment as out of the box I don’t think these are great for the PC, you need to do some tweaks with the Synapse software which I’ll cover.

    Quick review:
Once everything is set up I think they sound good, they’re not audiophile level headphones and you wouldn’t expect them to be for the money. Game support is good, pretty much every game I have which was released in the past 5 years seems to have a custom profile for it or at the very least THX support (Cyberpunk).
Soundstage is pretty decent which certainly helps hearing footsteps in games like Call of Duty and you can detect them better than decent headphones alone. They do a good job of separating sounds is how I would describe it.

The mic is good (once you’ve set it up), my voice sounds clear and the Synapse software does let you tweak things to kill background noise etc.

    The bad:
The cable is too short. It’s the minimum you could get away it, it’s a lot shorter than their mice cables as an example. The USB sound card only has a couple inches on it. You don’t need to be able to touch the sound card or anything but I would recommend getting an extension for the USB side of things (if using on a PC), you could extend the 3.5mm cable but make sure you get a 4 pole one, a standard 3.5mm cable will not carry the mic signal. There’s also lots of reviews of these cables harming the audio quality and mic issues – I think you’re safer to extend the USB and have the sound card on your desk somewhere. If you sit next to your tower and intend to plug this into a front panel, you’ll probably be fine so I would try without an extension first – but if you know this will be an issue, have it in mind and maybe purchase an extension with them.

Out of the box they sound a bit crap, the mic is also terrible until you set it up correctly and then it’s absolutely fine.

    Mic:
The mic is incredibly sensitive – which I do like that they essentially give you the device raw rather than ship it restricted – but I think the software could have a better ‘fit all’ setup.
In the Synapse software under Mic, you’ll want to enable the ‘Voice gate’. It’s a slider from high, medium and low. Medium is the absolute minimum you can get away with, I recommend low (0). This will cut out a lot of sounds which aren’t your voice. Without this you’ll hear lip smacking, breathing and even my Razer mouse clicking was being picked up…

From there I basically have everything enabled for the mic, play around with it – I’ve included a screenshot. I also like the mic is detachable – I believe on the cheaper X version it’s not.

    Sound:
I’ve included the settings I use, if you don’t like as much bass then dial that back but I found the default settings were too flat and not as enjoyable.

    Comfort:
These are comfy and light, I’d say they’re about the same weight as my Sennheiser HD600, and I wear them for hours. The pads are really soft, they’re not going to get sweaty and they’re really easy to adjust. I’ve seen some complaints about this but hasn’t been a problem for me. I don’t wear glasses but for this review I tested with some sunglasses and they didn’t apply annoying pressure.

    Overall:
Once you’ve got these settings applied I found I got really good performance and no complaints hearing me over discord. I also like the hardware buttons, a volume control and a mic mute – push it in and you’re muted.

Setup was easy, if you don’t have anything Razer you’ll plug the USB sound card in and it’ll install Synapse – no faffing about downloading software etc. If you already have Synapse (I do for a mouse), it prompt me to install an update and that was it. I now could click the device and control everything.

4.0 out of 5 stars They're good but you have to set them up correctly
