House slippers. For Christmas gift .Comfort for Ian a priority as he suffers with heart failure, very swollen feet having vascular disease poor circulation, leg and foot odema causing ulcers and phlebitus .Having to wear bandaging aswell as stockings and socks makes his feet even bigger !! (size 11 normally ) so needing a size 12 at least .Footwear is a real problem for him for the width mainly. So a big thankyou to you all for making these comfortably big slippers .Do you do wide fit size 12 mens shoe’s by any chance ? Sincerely M Yearsley
Warm and comfortable to wear with a sole that seems to have a good grip, they are very easy to slip onto your foot and flip off when you want to take them off. Do choose a size that will be snug to your foot, that is to say, a size that will grip your foot, which is safer in use. I have gout, when my feet are swollen, they grip well, when foot is normal size, they are loose and can fall off my feet. So, I’ve ordered another pair one size smaller, problem fixed.
Worn these around the house for about 6 weeks now. They are comfortable and warm. It’s true that they are a bit tight at first but they soon relax after a few days.
The inside lining is wearing a bit thin already in some places, but I dare that is expected, it is soft material.
It’s conveneint to be able to slip these on and off. The little lip aound the heel soon gets squashed, but this doesn’t really make any difference.
These are easily the best slippers I’ve ever worn! So soft and snuggly, even while I’m outside in the rain my feet still feel nicely warm and secure! I don’t feel any stones or LEGO while walking on them either which is a big bonus! Overall, perfect fit, don’t slip off and a decent price
Pros
Quality is better than even some top brand variants.
They look good modern and stylish so suitable for younger more fashion conscious as well as older or more conservative.
The soles have a bit of depth and protect the sides shielding the material upper better than many others and also stopping water getting in if stood on a damp floor.
The sole material is sturdier than many meaning better durability.
Cons
Nothing negative specifically for a slipper of this type.
As a general comment on this style of slipper there are a couple of things to be aware of.
1. When you buy them the fluffy lining is really thick and makes the fit quite snug, almost feels too small but this soon beds in and then they actually become quite loose.
2. Particularly once they become looser they may slip off from time to time. There is no heel to hold them on as such. For this reason I generally do not wear them when going up or down stairs as they are more likely to slip off in this scenario and this can be a risk. Having experienced this it’s something to be avoided. May be a consideration for mobility issues also.
In summary
For this style of slipper , this is one of the best I’ve come across so far. I am likely to get the same as a replacement when the time comes although my existing pair is still going strong so not yet.
