It certainly gives off a good amount of heat. However the instructions say the plug socket you use should be at least 30cm (12 inches) off the ground. Very few bedrooms or lounges have that in modern homes.
We use this as a backup to our main heating, or when only one room is being used. It’s a lot more economical than switching on the central heating and also better for the environme
Great little heater that does take the cold out of a room within a few minutes. Cheap to run. One drawback though is it can be a little bit noisy/ loud and after about 30 minutes or so you want to switch it off. On a timer thermostat too so it does click on and off as it needs itself.
here is NO REMOTE CONTROL in the box for this item. can you forward one please if possible. thank you
found the item is easy to work, can check smart meter to adjust what i want to budget for per hour. ideal to use in other rooms if necessary. a wee bit more noisier than expected from the fan but otherwise a good purchase.
Very good value for money, well designed and easy to use. When it’s cold, it easily takes the chill off a room, and keeps it that way. The cost vs output is amazing, I wish we had been aware of the product when we had a caravan, but better still with rip-off energy prices, they are a no brainer!
Wow – what a heater! It’s small, compact and safe to use, no power leads to worry about. It gives out instant heat and is very cheap to run. Left on for a while we heated a 20ft x 20ft room to a reasonable level. Good to have as a backup if the central heating packs up and you can move them easily around the home. Handy to have a thermostat on the heater. Martin at moneysavingexpert recommended them so they must be good. Built well and easy to pack when going away, we have taken ours away with us on breaks. Highly recommended for a small price.
Probably useful for small room.
Fan does whirr quite a bit.
Can only put on and set heater to turn off in one hour, or two hours.
No timer as such, which is a pity.
I found the heater quite adequate for my small kitchen. I did however return the product as I wanted to use it in conjunction with a smart plug. I could switch it off via the plug but was unable to switch it on, as the settings were cancelled out once switched off.
I settled on this product after reading the Amazon reviews and I was not disappointed. Handy little gadget, easy to use and seems to be good quality. If you register the product, Russell Hobbs will give you a 2 year warranty. Impressed with the warmth it gives and in that it appears to cost just a few pence to run per hour. The fan is audible bit doesn’t bother me unduly.
I run a single unit in my work room which is about 4m X 5m – as long as I keep the door shut it heats the room up well. It is a bit noisy and the plug design means your socket must be well above the skirting board. Whether it is cheaper to run than a normal fan heater I can’t say – would recommend though
This is really effective in the porch. Have an issue with condensation so I bought this to work alongside a small dehydrated modifier on the nights and it’s perfect. It’s good it has a thermostat so I set it to 15 degrees and it only goes on when it drops below so it’s not continually running. I run it on low speed, there are two settings and goes up to 30 degrees. I think it would also be effective in a small bedroom or lounge.
I bought one of these a month ago and it has proven to be effective in warming the room. Now, after a month of use in temperatures a little above freezing level, I bought a second one of these. G]It gives a good output of heat for a medium size room. Instructions are available online. There is a low hum from the fan when its on but not enough to disturb you sleeping, though it is there in the background when I’m awake, not enough to disturb listening to the TV or radio. I use mine in a bedroom to warm it up a little before going to bed and again in the morning to get ready for the day. It takes only a few minutes to make a difference. There’s a timer to make it switch off when you want it to stop. Must be used on a vertical wall socket, not on an extension lead that’s lying on the floor. It needs a good airflow around it to work properly. If its too close to the floor that airflow will not be good enough to be safe in use. The room I use it in is 14 x 9 feet and the heat output is fine for that room.
Quieter than expected fan pushes quick heat around your bedroom or dmall lounge. Has simple controls; an effective thermostat and timer function. Lacks internal clock, so activation is by power switch on the side. Saves money by turning off radiator and put warm air into room a short while before you’re going to use that space.
Initially I thought this was a gimmick, the sort of thing you might buy on a shopping channel..
However it is surprisingly good. It can heat a room up and maintain the temperature without using too much electricity.
Smaller than it looks, this will work really well under a desk, and it’s easy to carry if you travel from hotel to hotel.
Noise? You can hear it, but it’s about as noisy as the fans in a mainframe computer.
The product I received wasn’t brand new and had been previously opened. I was going to send it back but the product was still in good condition. The box had other stickers on it from previous deliveries and finger prints on the plastic display. The product is excellent for heating a small room but is a bit noisy. On small rooms like 15ftx12ft – it’ll warm them up a bit but not as much as an oil-based electric radiator. It’s worth getting one of these if you want to heat up a small area and don’t mind the noise.
