his mobile phone has been ideal with the big buttons as i suffer with arthritis and find it hard to keep my hand steady also the battery life is extra long than the standard phones so overall good purchase
I got this uleway 4G big button mobile phone for my mum as she has failing eyesight.
My mum and I have found that the big buttons do make this uleway branded mobile easy to use, but the menu system was something my mum struggled with. I did have to store all the main phone numbers that she uses in the phonebook. I did have to teach my mum how to use the phonebook, now she can use most of the basic functions.
I did have to request a larger sim from my network provider, this was easy to pop into one of the slots. Charging is simple, we just pop it into the cradle at night and it’s charged in a few hours or less.
The red SOS button on the back could be very useful, I have set it to contact a family member. Unfortunately, I don’t think my mum will be able to use the extra features, like camera, alarms, Bluetooth and multimedia.
Unfortunately, after comparing pricing on Amazon, I do personally think this phone is overpriced at 59.99, even with the 8 discount voucher that can be applied.
Overall, this is a good big button phone with some useful features, making it easier for most to use. The main let down is the price, which is a little on the high side.
I hope you find my review helpful
This phone is specifically designed to meet the needs of elderly users who may struggle with complex interfaces. Its simple operating system and large menu icons make it easy to navigate, while the high volume and clear loudspeakers ensure that calls are easily heard, catering to those with hearing impairments. The inclusion of large buttons and a traditional button layout further facilitates ease of use for seniors, and the addition of a charging dock enhances convenience, making it more suitable for elderly users. The price is 59.99 with an 8 discount coupon, resulting in an actual payment of 51.99. In terms of pricing, it’s not particularly cheap.
This is a simple basic mobile phone that does all the core things you need a phone to do and does them well.
It has big easy to read buttons, a simple and clear to understand menu system (although not the easiest I’ve used but still acceptable and easy enough) and good volume from the speaker for the those who are hard of hearing.
It features a flashlight and a SOS button which makes life easier when dealing with an emergency situation and gives you peace of mind knowing the user can contact you at any time simply and easily.
Its 4G ready and is unlocked to any network. As its a simple phone battery life is very good and it features a charging dock which I think is great and makes charging much easier without fiddling around with small cables and connectors.
Call quality has been good when in use and so far it’s doing a great job of being a basic easy to use mobile phone.
This mobile phone is a perfect fit for the elderly. Its simple interface, large buttons, and loud speaker make it easy and comfortable to use. The SOS function adds a layer of safety, which is reassuring. The battery life is impressive, ensuring reliability. While it’s great for its intended purpose, a camera feature would add more value. This phone is ideal for seniors or anyone looking for a basic, easy-to-use mobile phone.
Got this for my wife’s mum – she’s 82 and refuses to go near touch-screen phones and struggles to use her ancient, old-school dumb phone due to the small buttons and screen.
This phone is perfect as the buttons are nice and chunky and easy to read, even when not back-lit. The screen is also easy to read and the way each option pops up as as single big icon keeps things super simple.
By default the phone auto-locks for security and she couldn’t manage to unlock it because it requires two different buttons to be pressed in quick succession but this is easily turned off in the settings. We just put a couple of phone numbers in her contacts and she was good to go. She’s not interested in texting, taking photos, playing music or anything like that so can’t comment on that stuff but the call quality seemed fine and she had no problems with signal strength. Not that she ventures very far anyway but it’s just peace of mind for her – and us!
Recommended.
The large buttons and clear, intuitive interface make dialling and texting effortless for seniors with dexterity or vision challenges. The addition of 4G connectivity ensures reliable and fast communication, allowing users to stay connected with loved ones at all times. The basic features of the phone, such as call logs, contacts, and messaging, are straightforward and easy to navigate, making it an ideal choice for seniors who may be less tech-savvy. But I have reported slightly lower call quality. While still functional, improved audio clarity would be beneficial.
The big buttons on the Uleway phone are a standout feature, making it incredibly user-friendly for the elderly, who may struggle with the smaller, more complex interfaces of standard smartphones. This design choice significantly reduces the learning curve, allowing my grandmother to comfortably make calls, send texts, and perform other basic functions without frustration.
Another aspect worth noting is the phone’s 4G capability. This upgrade ensures that she has access to faster and more reliable connectivity, which is a step up from her previous model. It’s reassuring to know that she can reach out to family and friends or access emergency services quickly and efficiently if needed.
While the price point of this newer model is slightly higher than what the older one used to be, it remains a decent investment considering its features tailored to the elderly. The peace of mind that comes with knowing my grandmother can easily use her phone is invaluable. Additionally, the fact that it’s SIM-free and unlocked adds to its appeal, providing the flexibility to choose a network provider that offers the best coverage and deals for her needs.
The Uleway Phone also sports other senior-friendly features such as a loudspeaker for clear audio, a simple interface, and emergency call buttons. These additions further enhance its usability and safety aspects, making it an ideal choice for elderly users who prioritise simplicity and functionality in a mobile phone.
Phone is quite neat, smaller than average phones on market now – buttons are decent sized and easy enough to navigate.
Volume is good and loud without needing to be turned up really high
Screen is not huge but is clear and kept simple – not too many icons or things on screen at the same time
Like the charging port, this is easier to manage for my FIL than trying to plug cable into phone directly. Only concern with this is if cable comes loose at back I thin it will be a bit too fiddly for him to manage to plug it back in.
It seems like a good alternative to a touchscreen phone and a lot more simple to use – will need to see if my FIL manages to get on with it at all or if he just decides it’s not for him.
Does have really big buttons and a bright display, so good for seniors. It also has a SOS button on the back – press it in for a few seconds and it rings an alarm and can send a text to a preprogrammed number. It has a basic calling directory and minimal phone/text features. I like the charging dock, which is easy to use and doesn’t require you to fiddle around with cables.
Nice and simple mobile, great to have in an emergency or when you don’t need the extra functionality of a smartphone.
This is being used as an emergency phone for my elderly mother – with the SOS button programmed, and the phone always in its charging dock, my mum can take this phone when she is out and about and easily get in touch should she need (hopefully it wont be needed). The phone also has a torch, alarm, calendar etc, but these functions have not been used. The charging dock is a nice touch, as its similar to a landline, but with the portability of a mobile (and makes it much easier for mum to remember to charge)
I got this phone for my grandmother, and it’s been a practical choice. The large buttons and clear screen are perfect for her. She loves the flashlight feature and the SOS button gives us peace of mind. Setting up the speed dial for her was easy. It’s a basic phone, which is just what she needed.
The uleway 4G Senior Mobile Phone is a remarkable device designed with a thoughtful focus on empowering seniors. Its user-friendly features make it an excellent choice for the elderly, providing a perfect blend of simplicity and essential functionality. The large and clear buttons, paired with a spacious 2.4-inch landscape screen, ensure easy navigation and viewing for seniors, making the overall experience hassle-free.
One standout feature is the powerful flashlight, providing a sense of security during low-light situations. The SOS function, equipped with the ability to set emergency contacts, adds an extra layer of safety, allowing immediate dialling to preferred contacts in case of urgency. For added convenience, the phone supports 8-speed dial options (keys 2-9), simplifying the calling process for frequently contacted individuals.
The phone’s operating system is designed with seniors in mind, featuring a straightforward interface, large fonts, and high-volume amplification for the speakerphone. Additionally, the inclusion of language options in English, German, Spanish, French, and Italian ensures accessibility for a diverse user base.
In terms of connectivity, the uleway 4G Senior Mobile Phone supports a 4G LTE network, making it compatible with major carriers, providing reliable and fast connections. It’s a versatile device that meets the standards of Q2, EE, Vodafone, Orange, Three Network, ID Mobile, Smarty, and other carriers that support 4G, 2G, and 3G networks.
Charging is made convenient with the inclusion of a charging dock, catering specifically to the elderly’s needs. The phone’s upgraded and enduring 1000mAh battery ensures longer talk time, up to 5-6 hours, and an impressive standby time of 100 hours (4 days). The A-grade electric core guarantees not only an extended battery life but also faster and safer charging.
In conclusion, the uleway 4G Senior Mobile Phone goes beyond being a communication device; it’s a companion that enhances the daily lives of seniors with its thoughtful features, user-friendly design, and commitment to safety and convenience.
I ordered this for my Dad as his eyesight is getting worse with age. This has been ideal for him with the large buttons making it much easier for him to see. With it being unlocked you can choose who you want it to be with. it was really easy to put the sim in and set up. I would say though that as this is designed for those with vision issues the instructions are impossible to read due to the size.
The phone is lightweight and really simple to use and it feels very sturdy so hopefully it will last as my dad now struggles with his hands so now drops things on a regular basis but this feels like it will withstand a battering. Super happy and reasonably priced.
Very easy to use phone it’s 4G so connects to most areas surprised that it was not an unlocked phone this is a carrier O2 doesn’t have fantastic storage only four gigabyte but for me this is so easy to carry I can easily place in the pocket I can see the buttons at a glance
Instruction leaflets ok quite comprehensive very easy to follow the downside is you feel like you’re breaking the back cover as you take it off
The SIM is easy to install same goes for the battery pack and like having a night stand for it to position itself in and charge overall quite pleased inexpensive with the price point of just under 55 pound very happy
This is a mobile phone that is made with people with difficulty pushing little buttons or reading little screens. It is described a seniors phone but it could be very useful to other people as well.
The phone is unlocked to any network so you simply put your sim card into it if you have one already and carry on with your own number or you could easily get a great deal on a sim only contract if you dont.
It is well proportioned for anyone with dexterity problems (Or simple fat fingers like me!) and even I can read the screen without my glasses on.
There is a charging stand included in the box, this makes it very easy to recharge but even if you lose it the lead provided can still be used directly into the phone (USB-C) which is probably the best possible connector for such a phone, you cant accidentally put a USB-C in upside down and ruin the port like you can a micro-USB!
There is a red button on the back beside the camera lens that is an emergency button, this button can be de-activated if not needed.
I got a similar phone for my father in law a few years ago but it was so poorly made he only used it once and we had to get him an alternative, this phone is MUCH better built than that one was.
It feels solid even if you twist it in your hands it doesn’t pop apart and you dont have to stab every button more than once to make it register.
This phone has some features of a modern phone, like a camera, a torch and an FM radio built in so granny wont feel left out when she sees everyone else taking photo’s on their phones!
You wouldn’t fond any youngster that would want this phone but it is perfect for the people it is aimed at!
Crucially it is also pretty cheap, considering it isn’t locked to a service provider, leaving you free to find the cheapest sim only deal! This will pay for itself easily within a year and even if you lose it, it wont be the worst thing that ever happens!
Happy to help
