The Windscreen Cover for frost just fits quickly inside the doors so it’s a great little cover to take off and put on without getting too cold. It seems to work well to keep the frost off, helping to avoid waiting extra long for the heaters to do the job and saving on battery on my EV.

This product was sent to me to review, as part of Amazon Vine. The below is my own real-world experience of using it.

I used this on a recent freezing night – attached to my Dacia Sandero (which it fitted on well). I had no issues with placement, or getting the cover to stay put. It stayed in place all night.

The next morning, the windscreen was indeed frost free, so the item is as expected.

A very good value, time-saving device.

I used the windscreen cover last night and this morning there’d been a hard frost but the windscreen was clear of any frost/ice.
The makers may need to put a few more magnets along the edges but otherwise it’s ok.

This works a treat, I like that this has the wing mirror flaps to help secure the cover as you are putting it on, it makes it a lot easier.

The magnets that run along the bottom are nice and strong and help ensure it does not fly away, I used it during one of the recent storms and it was still sitting there when I came out in the morning.

The magnets along the bottom make it really secure so the wind doesn’t pick it up at all when you’re trying to put it on. Then once one wing mirror is on with the flap shut in the door, getting the other side on is very easy. Much better than those that just rest under the wipers or go inside the windscreen.
No frost at all the next morning, and very easy to take off. Took a few seconds. It obviously gets pretty damp, so I just hang it out while at work so it doesn’t get disgusting. The reflective strips work well too.

I am hoping this will serve a dual purpose, stop the Frost and ice on winter mornings and stop the build up of pine needles the car is constantly subjected to which enter and build up in the engine (pic 1)

It was easy to fit the cover, cover each mirror with the “ears”, arrange it evenly then flaps in the doors (see pic2s & 3 ). Fitted like this the air vent into the engine is covered to keep the needles out.
The cover has a few small round weights/ magnets sewn in around the top and bottom edges top help keep it place but I felt the weights were a bit too lightweight to do the job so I tried refitting it under the windscreen wipers (pic 4). This left the vent partially exposed but was a massive improvement on nothing.

I reverted to the standard way of fitting and watched it in a breeze and rain storm. The cover did flap about in the breeze (see video) but stayed in place.
I left the car for a further 24 hours to see if the cover stayed put, the next day the cover was still in place and the windscreen was dry.

The issue then became what to do with the wet cover when I removed it to use the car. I left it to dry in the driveway which is not ideal, a storage bag would have been handy to bundle it into the boot until such time as I could lay it out to dry.

I cannot comment on frost/ ice protection until we are subjected to it, but in the meantime the cover looks set to keep the pine needles at bay.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fits, stays in place, keeps windscreen dry but still await the frost & ice

It’s the wing mirror covers that make the difference.
My previous screen covers have been thin nylon sheets which you trap in place using the front doors and windscreen wipers. Any gusts of wind make this very difficult – you almost need a third hand.

This screen cover adopts a different approach. It’s very simple and quick.
    * fit one wing mirror cover
    * fit the second wing mirror cover
    * adjust as needed
    * open one door, trap the flap in the door frame
    * repeat for the other door
The whole operation is done in seconds.

The cover feels robust and well made. There is plenty of thickness and when the frosts come, I am sure it will work well. The covers on the wing mirrors are less padded but any frost protection will be a bonus.
My windscreen is 140 by 100 cms and the cover easily covered it.

The cover doesn’t come with a storage bag. In fact the hardest part of using the cover was extracting it from the shrink wrapping when it arrived!

I think this is a great solution; I totally recommend it.

I hope you found this review useful.

This is going to save me so much time when the really cold weather hits in a month or so when I no longer have to sweep and scraper my windscreen!
It is very easy to fit, the magnets on the top and bottom edges hold it nicely in place as I fed the flaps through and closed the doors on them. I finished off my hooking the wing mirror pouches over them and it stayed in place even through some quite high wind and heavy rain.

Although there’s no mention in the product descriptions, this windscreen cover is magnetic. There were several magnets sewn in on the top and bottom frame which stick onto the metal parts of the car so it’s wider than my other windscreen cover which I need to slide under the wipers. The mirror cover apparently protects the wind mirrors from snow. It’s not winter quite yet so I can’t comment on the effectiveness, but it covers the whole of the windscreen and looks promising. I would’ve liked it to come with a storage bag.

We’ve had a number of these over the years and they all do the job with different levels of success. The last one actually cracked our windscreen as the fixing magnets were so heavy!

This particular item feels quality from the minute you unpack it. It’s thick, extremely easy to fit and secure. You do this by trapping two wings in your doors and small but effective magnets to fit it firmly to your car.

It fits snuggly including over the wing mirrors which we’ve never had before. This means they don’t need defrosting in the morning. It packs up small and into a nice square that fits easily in the boot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy To Fit and Good Quality

It has lovely ‘Ear Muffs and ear flaps’ the muffs with their reflective tape give the door mirrors a helping hand to stay frost clear and it helps to secure the whole cover along with the ‘ear flaps’ which sit inside the door frame. There are magnets along the top and bottom seams, but they are absolutely useless for my aluminium bonnet of course, so the long wiper on my Forester does the job instead. The magnets along the top edge could be more frequent. Overall, it is a little bit tight, and anything bigger than a Subaru Forester is going to struggle to get full cover. But if it fits its worth four stars.

EDIT: since the cold weather has descended I’ve been using this daily and it’s a genuine game changer. It keeps the windscreen frost/ice free on the outside but the greatest benefit is that it also prevents steam build up on the interior. Every day, whatever the overnight temperature, I’ve been able to get in my car and drive straight away. No de-icer and no waiting for the heating to de-fog the windscreen, this is the best thing since the invention of the car!

Thinking ahead to winter and being bored of scraping my windscreen I thought this windscreen cover looked like a good solution.
It arrived vacuum packed, but still folds up small enough, after use, to fit in the pocket on the back of my front passenger seat.
It’s not vehicle specific so could be used for a wide range of cars, SUVs or small vans. My vehicle is a Skoda Fabia, so on the smaller end of car sizes, and the cover fitted over my windscreen with plenty of overlap.
I really liked that this also covers the wing mirrors. It’s a great way to help secure it in place and keep those areas free of frost. There are also two flaps at the side, to “trap” inside the front doors, and the upper/lower edges have small magnets. These magnets “stick” to the roof and bonnet, helping to keep these outer edges flat, whilst providing additional anchoring.
The cover is a shiny silver colour and feels really thick, thanks to it’s 4 layers (PEVA aluminium foil, spunlaced cotton, high-density cotton and Oxford cloth). This gives it a feel of real quality.
We’re not in frosty weather temperatures yet but I have no doubt that, when more wintery conditions arrive, this cover will be more than up to the job of keeping my windscreen ice free.
Good size, good quality and very securely attached, this cover has it all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, excellent coverage for my windscree
